A majority of solar systems in the universe are binary star systems ( two stars in orbit around each other). Most have planets, some like Earth with a hard rock crust, and others are gaseous with a solid core of iron and rock. The outer layers are helium, hydrogen, methane, ammonia and water vapor.
I KNEW IT...i was right the binary star is 2 stars all my friends didnt believe me...u can actually see it...its red and blue twinking together...but i see many of them...wheres the yellow and red together?
@SOyouTHINKurFUNNY, yes you are right. They are, at least, 2 stars orbiting each other.
In fact, most stars are binary ones, in one way or another. The yellow & red case repeats many times, but they use to be impossible to resolve with the naked eye.
@SOyouTHINKurFUNNY, that can happen, but most of the time is due to atmospheric perturbations here in the Earth. Star twinkle uses to be too slow or too small to be appreciated without scientific observations.
To know what you are seeing, it is needed to know your geographical position, the time and date of the day, the bearing (N,S,E,W). and the elevation (degrees over the horizon) of that particular red-blue star.
My mind calls me to Algol (daemon in arabic), an eruptive star in Perseus.
@SOyouTHINKurFUNNY when you say you see it "twinkling" do you mean the twinkle in the stars we see with the naked eye? If that's so, that twinkle is atmospheric effect. You can not see a binary stars orbiting by their "twinkle." The orbital periods, with very few exeptions, are in order of hundreds, to thousands of years. This video states the orbital periods of the binary systems its showing. Btw, by definition "binary" only refers to two star systems.
I love this kind of stuff. Ever since I was 6 or 7, I've wanted to be an astrophsicest. I'm studying binary systems with planets for my astronamy project, (mostly because Tatooine is in a binary system. x3p)
Sure, I think the system is 80 Tauri, right at the Hyades star cluster. The orange star is a K4V spectroscopic binary, its size is only around 0.25 times the Sun.
hey nice video i wish i could do this kind of stuff for a living im so into it but not really a university person so if u have tips message me ill be glad to listen ..or enroll ;)
If you have an IT background, you probably can do a lot of things if you work hard. If you don't, well, you can learn step by step, it will just take you longer. My advice for beginners would be to not to be too ambitious, and start with projects small enough to be finished.
you mean as in studying and doing this astronomy stuff step by step. and then scientist peoples might accept you if you never went to university and your smart enough? im so good at this stuff and im really only 11. i love astronomy!
Hey, of course for doing this also astronomy is needed. Sure they might accept you, but you must keep the scientific rigour, and that's always easier if someone teach you how to do it properly.
honestly i lied on my chanel that in 22 or something. im 11 and im in to this stuff so much i love it astronomy rocks.i'm best at flying planes and stronomy and to you if you have time to think you might be able to have hope at being an astronomer. =] this stuff pwns all subjects!
On your sight it says DOWNLOAD, is that the free trail or full version?
55robloxmaster 2 weeks ago
@55robloxmaster, the free trial and the full version are the same file.
During the trial what you see is the full version, then it expires in a week.
However, right now there is a 100% discount code published in the MPL3D Facebook page, it can be used to activate the full version license.

@pleiades73, eehm I thought that hypothetical planet had an orbit of about 3,500 years, of course it is uncertain if it exist or not...

This program is great!!!
I've downloaded it a few days ago, but the simulation doesn't start :(
I'm willing to pay for it!
Such a program as this is wat I ever dreamed off...

@n1rv4n4r0cks, glad you like it!
Most probably you should please download and install latest DirectX 9 available for your operating system. That way it should work.
Don't get confused, it is not DX10 or DX11. DX9 is standalone and must be installed.
