Wicked cool !! --- As a 40th Anniversary tribute I think everyone would agree the effort was above and beyond the call of duty! Steve and company, I suspect future generations of rocketry enthusiasts will be inspired by this effort and as such, gentlemen, YOU are now officially a part of American history. Well done!
Amazing Steve! what a size! I'll bet that scared the neighbours! Well done mate!... I stood next to one of them at the smithsonian when I was 10 years old..AWESOME! Its great to see someone like yourself has achieved an accomplishment like this.
I love love love this video and this project! I used to love building and launching Estes model rockets when I was a boy, and watching this video brought all that right back. Thank you all SO much for this. F**kin-A!!
Thats really amazing. I could imagine how much work and dedication, and brain power went into building that. To have it launch and come back like that must have been a great feeling. Awesome job!
@FuzorPrime The song is from the great movie "Apollo 13". Gave me chills but more importantly, hope for the future of space flight. Dream big America.
Thanks Les, appreciate your comments. I think maybe the reason for the low hit count was that it took me a week or more to edit the footage so this video was a little late to the party. There was 1 guy who posted his the very same afternoon - that one has thousands of views. Oh well........
Hands down coolest model rocket EVAR. Fuck yeah!

That was awesome. If they had more rocket fuel in the separate stages I could see them actually being able to launch a satellite.

I've seen in a few places that it reached 4,000 ft, doing it in about 20 seconds. Looks like an average velocity of about 140 mi/h, or 20 ft/sec.

Jerry,
You did a terrific job with this video. We met at the DCRC Octoberfest on 10/4/09.
I'm amazed that you have only 722 views as of 10/1/09. The content and production values should have produced more!
