  • Hands down coolest model rocket EVAR. Fuck yeah!

  • Looks like stage 2 failed.

  • Wicked cool !! --- As a 40th Anniversary tribute I think everyone would agree the effort was above and beyond the call of duty! Steve and company, I suspect future generations of rocketry enthusiasts will be inspired by this effort and as such, gentlemen, YOU are now officially a part of American history. Well done!

  • Amazing Steve! what a size! I'll bet that scared the neighbours! Well done mate!... I stood next to one of them at the smithsonian when I was 10 years old..AWESOME! Its great to see someone like yourself has achieved an accomplishment like this.

    David.

  • What a great video! Seeing all the chutes deploy was exciting too!!!

  • awesome video will it ever fly again?

  • I love love love this video and this project! I used to love building and launching Estes model rockets when I was a boy, and watching this video brought all that right back. Thank you all SO much for this. F**kin-A!!

  • OUTSTANDING...what a awesome project

  • Outstanding.

  • Thats really amazing. I could imagine how much work and dedication, and brain power went into building that. To have it launch and come back like that must have been a great feeling. Awesome job!

  • Absolutely Awesome!!!

  • ya we? really walk omn the freaking mooon dumb ass~~~~!!!!

  • Speechless.

  • that was really cool and it is the most coolest model rocket ever build

  • What was the top speed it hit? Did you have an accellerometer on board?

  • Wish I could have been there.

  • WHO CAN TOP THAT?!!!!!............NOBODY!!!!

  • Great skills!!! Congratulation!

  • were did this guy get the money to do this

  • uhm , nice soundtracks... I think the 36 ft rocket model could get some more higher...

  • That was awesome. If they had more rocket fuel in the separate stages I could see them actually being able to launch a satellite.

  • what music is playing when there lifting it on the launch pad? this video is pretty sick. steve built an amazing rocket!

  • @FuzorPrime The song is from the great movie "Apollo 13". Gave me chills but more importantly, hope for the future of space flight. Dream big America.

  • EXCELLENT

  • Nicely done!

  • I got the chance to meet Steve at LDRS and see the rocket on display. Beautiful project, beautiful result!

  • I've seen in a few places that it reached 4,000 ft, doing it in about 20 seconds. Looks like an average velocity of about 140 mi/h, or 20 ft/sec.

  • Jerry,

You did a terrific job with this video. We met at the DCRC Octoberfest on 10/4/09.

I'm amazed that you have only 722 views as of 10/1/09. The content and production values should have produced more!

    Les Hamilton

  • Thanks Les, appreciate your comments. I think maybe the reason for the low hit count was that it took me a week or more to edit the footage so this video was a little late to the party. There was 1 guy who posted his the very same afternoon - that one has thousands of views. Oh well........

  • THAT WAS CRAZY!

  • that was so great! thanks for filming it
