@markukkerd Don't get hung up on terminology. The Bible was written in a patriarchal society, emphasis on the male character is more heavily shown. The point of the saying is that there is NO NAME (no person, religion, practice or belief), other than Jesus Christ that is able to save & grant salvation. The Holy Spirit is not a "her." Attributing ''human" personality traits to God with the intent to rationalize His being is a flawed pursuit. He makes Himself known to those with ears to hear truth
@guttamoneymay Between me (i'm a woman), and you, (whichever gender you are). I heard God, He sounded male & He was particularly angry. He said, "Don't kill ANY babies!" It's the only time I heard Him speak.
@markukkerd The Holy Spirit IS NOT inside all people. If that were true, all would be saved. The Holy Spirit glorifies God, Christ Jesus. If the Spirit were to advocate something contrary to the truth of Jesus Christ, it would be contradiction & falsehood. The "Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth...The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him." He is only accessible through a relationship with Jesus Christ...
Thank you! This was the message I was seeking today. Perfectly said word for word! Praise and all glory be to our King of kings for giving us Jesus and His Holy Spirit.
0:14 First of all, the Holy Spirit is a girl, not a boy!!! She is a Goddess who is known by so many names such as the Holy Ghost, Heaven, New Jerusalem, pillar of Cloud by day and pillar of Fire by night, Living Water, Water of Life, the Comforter, the Lord of Hosts, and in the Hindu religion of India, the Holy Spirit is named Vishnu. Please stop calling her a boy!!!
@markukkerd I never quite knew what blasphemy of the Holy Spirit was until just now. The Spirit of Yahweh is NOT a Hindu goddess. Lord God Almighty is the Lord of Hosts and none else. Yahweh is not Allah nor Vishnu nor any other "god". He is the God of gods and Lord of lords. There is no other name given among men by which we must be saved. Spirit of confusion, I rebuke you in Yeshua's name!
@beckabecks You are boy crazy. I say that because you said that there is no other name given among M E N by which we must be saved. You are not a gender, you are a race. Secondly, the Holy Spirit is inside of all races of people. The Hindu people of India have the Holy Spirit inside of them but they do not call her the Holy Spirit. They call her Vishnu. The name Shiva is the Hindu name for God the Father. The Christian's MESSIAH is the exact same person as the Jew's MASHIACH.
@markukkerd The Holy Spirit is the great comforter, Lord God Almighty not a "her". Jesus Christ... you need to research and learn who you worship. God Bless.
@godshealer7 Yes, the Holy Spirit is The Comforter. No, I do not worship any of the Gods or Goddess. What I want is for the Holy Spirit to do her job which is for her to arise within everyone. Her arising within everyone is called mass transfiguration. Jesus as an individual was transfigured but we collectively are going to experience mass transfiguration.
Ancients thought breath = spirit. John 20v22 Jesus breathed on disciples & said receive holy spirit. In Rev 11v11 there is a story where many people are struck down dead then v11 But after 3.5 days a BREATH OF LIFE (pneuma) from God entered them, and they stood on their feet. Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them "come up here" [Richard Branson?] & they went up to heaven in a cloud [Spaceship One ?]. The End is nigh? Try Robert M. Price. see Eccles 3v19
@electronicoffee Please give me examples of contradictions and list the book chapter and verses...I am interested in answering your question but need examples where you think it contradicts.
@Apmhflick WHOA..that is ALOT of assumed contradictions. Please pick out 2 or 3 that jump out at you the most and concern you. Then I can address them much easier. But I read quite a few of them..and all I have read have not studied the origin of the language used the culture and context in which words were used etc..so pick a handful out for me please. If you dont mind.
@djomni Sure. I'll give you two concerning Christ:
1)
Matthew 2:1 says: "Now when Jesus was born...in the days of Herod the king..." (Herod died in 4 BCE)
VERSUS
Luke 2:1-4 says: "And it came to pass in those days...[Census to be taken, etc.]...(And this taxing was first made when Quirinius was governor of Syria.)" (Quirinius became governor of Syria in 6 CE.
SO WHEN WAS JESUS BORN?
2)
Matthew 1:16: "And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus."
@Trelli28 Jeremiah 5:1--"If you can find but one person who deals honestly and SEEKS THE TRUTH, I will forgive this city." What's with the hostility? I'm simply pointing out a few flaws as I see them. If, as St. Augustine claimed, God is truth itself, my investigations are actually closer to godliness than your cruel reprimand. How does it feel? Your god like me better than you. (And please, say this last sentence out loud like a school girl to get the full effect.)
"btw, the holy spirit told me to write this (you know, like he told other guys to write the bible)"
1. The Bible writing is done and complete.
2. The Holy Spirit would not "inspire" adolescent insults.
3. You do realise that a false claim to divine inspiration does not invalidate true claims, right? That would be making a universally quantified statement out of a discreet sample number. Not good logic.
@glorytoyahweh1 Doing good stuff while you went to church is awesome Tony. Lots of people go to church and think that because they're saved they don't need to do anything good. What do you mean by not hearing the Holy Spirit? I don't mean to be patronising, because I haven't heard anything incredibly personal. I find that the Bible speaks into my situation regularly though, and as Mark Driscoll says, that is Spirit-breathed.
What am I doing wrong? I pray for holy spirit, and I believe in it. yet, I do not feel as though it is influencing me. Why is this? What am I doing wrong? I have faith, so why am I not recieving the free gift of God's Holy Spirit?
@jamesandchante Hi James, tough question. I know how you feel – I haven't just been there, I feel like this now at times. I think we should go back to the Bible on this one: for example, God doesn't promise to give us a gooey feeling through the Holy Spirit, but he promises to set us apart and make us more like him, to help us grow as read the Bible, to give us gifts and fruits that will help others see Christ in us. If you believe in Christ, you have the Holy Spirit.
@glorytoyahweh1 I wasnt bothered about a spot in heaven, I just wanted some comfort and to know god was with me but I got nothing, zero, zilch, nada.
But thank you for your incredibly insightful comment- it hadnt occured to me in 39 years of studying the bible and going to church that doing good works wouldnt get me to heaven. Have you got any other infantile pieces of wisdom you could share maybe something as insulting as your last comment?
@glorytoyahweh1 I prayed to the Holy spirit for 39 years. I heard nothing.
I dont believe in god anymore and I dont go to church but I still feed the poor and love my family and work hard and care for the sick when I can. In fact the only thing Ive changed is my deluded beliefs.
I hate to contradict your unthought out, rash comment but you are wrong.
@glorytoyahweh1 The earliest written form of the German word god comes from 600 AD/CE century. The English word itself is derived from the Proto-Germanic word ǥuđan. The word god came into existence 600 years after the so called Christ died. You’re worshiping a “gudan” look up the etymology of the word god and see what it means.
@glorytoyahweh1 you need to wake up and look behind the curtain of what you have been indoctrinated to believe. If you never look you will never know what’s hidden behind the curtain. I know without error what you believe to be true is impossible.
There's only one problem with this, there is no God! Even the word God is made up and so is the name Jesus. Don’t hate me, look up the etymology of these words yourself.
To hold one of the faiths, you have to believe that a nameless spirit-entity, without a physical brain, suddenly had the need to “think” into existence a material universe of unfathomable complexity and danger, solely to place for testing, on a precarious planet, procreating beings of many imperfections. To each of these beings he assigns an individual soul, which, without physical connection, dwells within its host during life, then “lives” on for eternity.
Be careful guys, The NIV translation has many many omissions, you need to watch, How We Got Our Bible, by Dr Chuck Missler, truly shocking omissions in the NIV translation.
a great word. another thing that the spirit does that Mark didn't really mention was give us power to heal. I love it that Jesus leaves the disciples and they're just chilling worshipping for forty days and then the holy spirit comes and their lives are transformed. read the book of acts, and believe that the power through which they healed others is available to us. I've seen it, too.
Man, this message is so good. Mark is blessed with so much Biblical Wisdom and can explain things so clearly. It's awesome and really helps me out a lot.
The Holy Spirit has straightened out my life many times. He really does turn peoples lives around, if you know Him then you know God in Jesus. Your life is well worth living with Him in it.
A great message here! Keep up the good work! Keep asking!
It seems to me very silly to simply keep reasserting that the Bible is "truth". Like, maybe if he says it enough it'll scare away what...facts? Logical fallacies? Contradictions? This whole idea of just saying "Oh, it's true," and that being enough is a shame. I see no critical thinking or critical reasoning being done here. Just repetition.

@tiffanydorese Amen to that. Many churches today like to skim the surface with people's lives and don't see any importance with being vulnerable and real about where they are.
