  • wat's the song^ please

  • amazing :o

  • It's very clever, and must take an awful lot of practice.......but sport ?

  • Who the fuck thinks that looks easy?

  • The things that they do and the positions there in I could of never imagined was possible... Gr8 job!

  • only one word for the swimmers: RESPECT!

  • that must've been soooooo hard..

  • they are insane!!! i wish i could be that graceful in water... lol

  • tsada

  • I did this on a team a few years ago. It is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT. You are not only working as hard as a marathon runner, but you must hold your breath and be very flexible. P.S. I was on the Angelfish before it.... collapsed?

  • sit back and enjoy.period

  • This is one of the most amazing things I've ever seen~

  • doing this in PE right now.... super difficult. much respect

  • @crystallclearr15 same here fuck idk how im guna do it :p plus me one ear gets fucked up depending on how much water goes in it or how deep i dive..

  • @crystallclearr15 LOL P.E. in highschool? no respect for u haha

  • Thumbs up if ur in synchro :D I'm with the St. Paul Stars in Minneasota :D

  • Ok to stay up they use a tequnique called skulling

  • this is really amazing! i don't know anything about it, could anyone tell me how they can stay straight up in the water when they're upside down? and how do they sink down when they're in that position?

  • OK tell me again why this is in the Olympics and not softball or baseball?

  • @bigaz72 I don't know if you're fulling understanding the brutality of this sport. :)

  • this looks hard, to be able to hold your breath, and be able to stick your legs out of the water and move all pretty xD and without goggles. amazing

  • @Skelanimals1123 Im on a synchro team and actually its not that hard when you learn it plus we practice with our goggles on. :)

  • that just looks so hard. WOO! Im tired just looking at it :o

  • If one synchronized swimmer drowns, do the rest drown too? kidding

  • holy .. how do they hold their breath that long? this summer i learned how to do three underwater somersaults in a row and i almost die...

  • Oh, no. But they've got nothing in common.

  • @ DanAlejandrino if you're so fucking smart and talented asshole then put up a bid of you doing this kind of HARD PASSION and stop being a lifeless troll. I'm not better for sensing this myself but you deserve it for being so insensitive

  • Synchronized swimming is funny

  • wow..amazing. that is SO much harder than it looks DAMN!

  • Funniest comment thread I've seen for a while @DanAlejandrino & SheaColleen!

  • wow. that just wasnt...human. like i didnt know you COULD do all that stuff

  • you even have to do the splits im almost there and i am on a

syncro team i started last week

  • Dang

  • This routine grabbed my emotions. Tears of joy for you girls.

  • OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!! they look like mermaids!!! very beautiful.. WISH I COULD DO THAT!

  • i wish i could swim like that; however, i swim just like a rock....straight to the bottom

  • Who did look for Sync swimming after watching Peter Griffing sync swimming with the bulls? :)

  • I would love to do this because it looks so cool, but I definitely couldn't hold my breath that long.

  • @TheMathgeek21 it gets easier with practice

  • How deep is the waterr??

  • i don't know how they manage to take those short little breaths each time they come up without passing out underwater. mad props.

  • I'm a synchronized swimmer! I've been on my team for 4 years now and I am already a junior! I LOVE it!!!! it's my whole life!!!! <3

  • Thats so pretty I wanna do that.

  • how do they stay underwater for that long? It's probably not a long time but I would probably die

  • Upside down girls waving their legs and crotches around in the air - silly, but a redeeming feature is it's slightly pornographic. : )

  • synchronized swimming is gay as f***. ya dig?

  • Someday I hope to be as good or better than these girls to go to the Olympics and beat Russia. And only after 3 years in synchro im already in age group and I'm one of the best on my team (don't take this as bragging or boasting, i just wanna share.)

  • I'm 12 years old, people say I'm excellent at synchro. But I'm so not as good as these people. When I grow up, I'm going to be in the Olympics and do synchro -3 synchronized swimming forever

  • i just wanna know-

what do you synchro people (me included) think of the santa clara aquamaids?

  • @starfur180 ooo~ i saw i documentary of them in pe today :)

  • @ckkimly20 wait... we have a documentary? or was was it the sync or swim thing?

  • @starfur180 idkk i think it was and there was a team from minnesota in the documentary too

  • GAAAH JANET IS MY COACH!!!

hahaha I already knew she went to the olympics... but it's cool to see her swim

  • wow how deep is that pool???

  • Thumbs up if you ever tried to synch swim in a pool and FAILED!!! lol

  • This is the hardest sport ever. I am in a synchro team and it is no easy task. It's always blood sweat and tears but the thing that keeps me going is when my coach says this: Pain Fades Muscles Relax Sweat comes off Being a champion sticks with u always

  • wow that was amazing :]

  • @piggywiggylover When I was 11 we practiced 20.

  • the only sport that only performs by women.

  • @fromideaworld No, actually there are some men who do it, but they're not allowed yet to compete at a national or collegiate level.

  • @SheaColleen it wont seems exiting like this one. thanks for the info.

  • Haha I love how think it's not a 'sport'

  • lmao i love how this is a "sport"

  • @DanAlejandrino It's not JUST a sport. It's a passion. The hardest fucking passion in the world. It takes countless hours of dedication, plus the blood, sweat, and tears that it takes to win. (mostly blood) In synchro, you need to be strong in every part of your body. You need arm, leg, and core strength, flexibility, and breath control. It's like sprinting a mile, with your legs straight and toes pointed, staying on count, while your arms and legs are numb from the pain. Now smile. Dick.

  • @SheaColleen Lmfao. there a plenty of "sports" which are way harder than this. And I don't get how you get "blood" from this when there is pretty much no physical contact. I'm almost positive this isn't the "hardest fucking passion" in the world. I am smiling btw. Mainly because I don't do stupid shit like this.

  • @DanAlejandrino I did soccer for five years, softball for two, cross country for three, track, Junior Lifeguards, and speed swimming. I've done synchro for eight years, and I had to give up all the other sports, but honestly none of them even COMPARED to how hard synchro really is. There's PLENTY of blood, and PLENTY of physical contact. Being so close together with teammates on every side of you, with the strength of their legs coming down at full speed AT YOUR HEAD causes A LOT of blood.

  • @DanAlejandrino Things happen all the time. Plus the injuries that come from overusing your muscles. I go to a sport's therapist weekly so he can do chiropractic shots on my right shoulder, hips, and front and back of my knees to put them back in alignment. Overuse has strained them and causes me A LOT of pain. I can't even name all the people I know who have had concussions or wear knee braces or whatever because of this "stupid shit."

  • @DanAlejandrino Lifts fall. Things go wrong. PEOPLE FALL ON EACH OTHER. My sister has been on the US National Team for 3 years and TRUST ME, there are a lot of injuries. She was rushed to the hospital for a head injury. One girl had a concussion so bad that she was knocking on the wrong door in their dorms. Another girl can't swim anymore because of her double concussion, and I know a girl who, sadly, CAN'T READ OR WRITE ANYMORE because of the head trauma from THREE DIFFERENT SEVERE CONCUSSIONS.

  • @DanAlejandrino Why would you judge something you know NOTHING ABOUT? My sister trains twelve hours a day six days a week. Yeah, it's a different kind of sport with dumb stereotypes, but it's also an art form. When performing it's like telling a story. So, in conclusion, synchronized swimming IS the hardest fucking passion in the world, and hardworking athletes don't NEED to be ridiculed by dumb ass boys who are full of shit and think they're better than everyone else. kbye ;)

  • @SheaColleen hahahaha ok cool story bro. and thats an opinion. and i don't think im better than everyone else but think what you want to think. lmfao i cant believe youre heated over this. you're an idiot. kbye ;)

  • @DanAlejandrino It's not an opinion. I'm pretty sure I would know better than you. Of course I'm heated! I kill myself 48 hours a week and drive two and a half hours one way to get to practice 6 days a week. Synchronized swimmers are athletes who deserve to be recognized. You're the idiot for again JUDGING SOMETHING YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT. You have no knowledge or common sense to back you up. And you know what the cool story's gonna be? When I'm on the 5 o'clock news murderin yo ass. kbye ;)

  • @SheaColleen lol SHUT UP you dumb bitch. youre an idiot. you fucking drive 2 and half hours one way for practice?! i hope you go broke lol. and that definitely is an opinion. you have no facts to back you up you dumb piece of shit. You fucking swim dance. youre a low life. you're not gonna go anywhere in life just give up. i can't believe you want to murder me over a conversation about synchronized swimming. you have problems. go get some help you psycho bitch. :)

  • @DanAlejandrino I won't go anywhere, huh? Actually I've been to a lot of places. China, Russia, Australia, all over the US, all for Synchro meets! What about my family's full ride scholarships to college for synchronized swimming? Or how about my sister at the olympics? I am done here. I clearly have won, and I'm not gonna waste my time sinking down to your low life level. Try anger management. Stop being a 12 year old bitch and just look up "Team Meghan; rough draft" on YouTube. Bye.

  • @SheaColleen lol i feel so bad for you. living with the title "professional synchronized swimmer". can get much lower than that hahahaha

  • @SheaColleen heyy.... i think hes acting MUCH younger than 12... im 12

  • @ZippoDuckzzz true dat. Sorry I offended all 12 year olds everywhere. :O

  • @SheaColleen lol ya... and he is acting much more like a drunk 2 year old

  • @DanAlejandrino Dude, you're stupid. I would like to see you do everything in this video. And these girls don't just get in the water and know what to do, they practice long hours going over their routine OVER and OVER again. Seriously, I want to see you do this. Then show me your pulse and how out of breath you are and not to mention how hard you had to work to accomplish this. THEN tell me it's not a sport.

  • @MissBeautifulZombie lol no. im not gonna degrade myself by trying out this "sport". lolol dumb bitch.

  • @SheaColleen Fuck you, rythamic gymnastics is much harder! It involves gymnastics, dance, ballet, objects to hold and balence, complicated movement, time precision. hours upon hours of practice, flexibility, emotion, dedication - all the while constantly moving and keeping your object in motion, and your movements timed perfectly.

  • @missmuggledetector I know ryathamic gymnastics is extremely hard. I love watching that sport! My friend is on the national team. Our sports have something in common: they are both under appreciated and extremely hard. Synchro involves gymnastics, dance, ballet, complicated movements, time precision, hours upon hours of practice, flexibility, emotion, dedication all the while constantly moving and keeping your object in motion, and your movements timed perfectly too... WHILE HOLDING YOUR BREATH.

  • @SheaColleen passion for fucking?

  • @SheaColleen Sounds like gymnastics....minus the breath control bit.

  • Wow this is amaizing x3!

  • synchronized was spelled wronq on the board ! lmboo . . . & this is sooo cool =)

  • @MrsLilTwist01 Despite not being a strong swimmer, I can't stop myself from joining in with other people's routines down at the local pool.

I just can't swim without synching.

  • @MrsLilTwist01 Haha no a lot of countries spell it that way. This pool isn't in America.

  • @SheaColleen ohh ! haha , understandable . =)

  • @MrsLilTwist01 That's just how it's spelt outside of America. It's the english spelling :)

  • @sc1592 it's a combo routine. So not everyone is always swimming in a group. Also they had 10 people so it would have to be a combo because the max number for a team is usually eight. Hope that helped! :)

  • It's amazing what they can do, but seriously ... how the hell do you get started on such a weird sport? :D

  • @Mujave luck :)

  • @Mujave Welll, my sister's babysitter did it. So she got into it when she was seven. Then my other sister got into it when she was seven, we switched to a better but two hours away team, and then I got into it. Now, eight years later, my oldest sister does synchronized swimming shows in Hollywood, my other sister was on the Olympic Team, and I'm going to Nationals in a month. :3

  • @Mujave with a lot of difficulty.

the first day i started (in a swim program for beginners) i thought it was a boot camp and never wanted to go back. :)

  • why is there two people always not swimming, just siting off to the side?

  • One of the more under-appreciated sports... so beautiful. :-)

  • I love the description!!!

  • i wanna do a routinr in that pool!

  • gosh they must have to hold their breath for a LONG time!

  • amazing but creepy

  • I am a synchronized swimmer and the sport is amazing! But you work ur butt off! I've been doing it for 6 years! And they can be more than 8 people.

  • Can they only have eight people on a team? Is that a rule? Sounds like you have a cough.

  • @cristineb205 They can have between 4 and 8 people competing on a team event... no more than that. in a combo event , which this is (a routine consisting of team parts, duets, trios and solos), you can have up to ten swimmers!

  • Comment removed

  • That is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO cool and beautiful!! <3

  • What was their music?

  • WOW. They are so cool. Simply amazing. Three cheers for every one of 'em. ^_^

  • sychro is DEFINATLY my fave sport...I compete!

  • can they hear the music underwater? if not, that must be pretty tough

  • @xAlethiax yeah they can there are special speakers..

    I do synchro so yeah..

  • A-M-A-Z-I-N-G I tried synchro today 4 da first time and Its sooooOOOOOO AMAZING!!!

  • @iowaogirl01 geez, rude

  • WOW i do synchro and i love it but my rutines r not 6 min thats crazy

  • I've been looking at these videos for the last hour... I've never seen this kind of thing before and it's pretty nuts... but how come on most of these videos there's someone posting a comment asking about swimming and height?

  • it's kind of weird that some of the girls are just standing by on the side lines watching.

couldn't they work them in to the entire routine somehow? I'm surprised this isn't considered a deduction, but what do I know. I just watch for the babes.

  • @kesayo Its because this is a combination routine, not a typical team routine where all 8 girls would swim the entire thing. In a combo there are ten girls and its a combination of team, duet and solo. Its more of a creative event then the others. Although all routines take creativity, combos are a good routine to help inspire innovation.

  • I love synchronized swimming. Really.

  • LOVE IT LOVE IT GO GIRLS.........

  • so many legs...

  • what's the ideal height for swimming?

  • sure ;)

  • man i could do that easy

  • @joemoma90 sure you can, imagine holding ur breath for 30 to 55 seconds at a time! Its not easy and it takes time and lots of practice. Try doin the egg beater tht they do u probably wouldnt be able to stay up for even a second

  • @Zippidyzipzi ok since u didnt notice the sarcasm in my previous comment then i wont bother using it in this one....i was being sarcastic :)

  • Amazingly graceful and precise. I have a friend that does it and she says it's SUPER challenging. But......this ain't a sport.

  • they make it look so easy! but i cant even imagine doing stuff like that in water and i did ballet for 10 years O.o so crazy! its beautiful tho

  • Great job ladies! As one who's always loved the water, I can certainly understand how difficult this sport must be, both in and out of the water. You are true artists and athletes.

  • i can suck my own dick

  • @5tonyvvvv You can suck my own dick to if you want!?

  • Comment removed

  • This is the first time I've actually taken the time to check out any sort of synchonized swimming event. I'll admit my early opinion was influenced by "Men's Synchronized Swimming" with Harry Shaefer and Billy Crystal (I think were the two -- it was when Saturday Night Live was still funny).

They're in the deep end and are doing a LOT of treading water. This is a lot more difficult than initially presumed.

  • this is combo not team

  • I know themm!!! And 2if them are my coaches now!!! :)

  • @TheLeahcookie Then obviously you are hott. Congratulations!

  • i used to do this kind of stuff... well at a less advanced level, I was pretty good, but i did it in less deep looking pools, woah that pool looks deep!

  • i'll be the first to admit, it seems like a joke.

but it really is graceful and difficult.

  • perhaps the most beautiful art, and most difficult sport ever. absolutely flawless. The Americans should be proud.

  • Believe me, it's not easy! I'm a synchronized swimmer, and hove done both normal swimming, and now synchronized swimming.. thise cant be compered! They are both, so so hard! But In different ways. You guys sjokke try doing that stuff, these girls are doing, its not easy! :-)

  • @MyFaceification thx, love very much appreciated =) my daughter does synchro and I just cant believe that people think its easy. Im sure Im going to get a negative reply frm the person who posted that this was easy and that they could do it with there hands tied up. Ummm so how do synch withouth sculling? anyway I fully support the SPORT =)

  • @TheLali79 Finally! I'm so frustrated at hearing people say its so easy! its really not! I've been doing it since I was eleven- and its just as challenging as any other sport if not more so. Have these people who say its easy ever gotten a concussion because a girl fell on your head during a lift? I don't think so! Lol. I'd like to see a football player try and do synchronized swimming. Lol.

  • what's the name of the soloist?

  • i think it wuz intermediet (dont remember how 2 spell that) when i quit. i did it in like 5th grade so i dont rly remember

  • @chettemuffs I'm not trying to make it a competition. I'm only stating my opinion. And yes u have completed the same level of synchro as I have swimming. Swimming is so much harder... ( in my opinion :))

  • @krazyboutkaito Alright as long as you have a viable comparison. Just out of curiosity.... what 'level' is that?

  • ok. maybe synchronized swimming isnt easy, but it surely is not as hard as regular swimming... dont get me rong, im not saying its not hard, im just saying i dont think its as hard as regular swimming. cuz thats HARD. trust me.

  • @krazyboutkaito And you have proof? or like everyone else are you just making assumptions? Have you competed at the same level of synchro as you did/ do in speed swimming? until then you can assume all you want but that doesn't make you right. and trust ME when i say as a Synchro swimmer we know 'regular' swimming is hard since it is part of our cross training. It's not a competition so stop trying to make it one.

  • @krazyboutkaito Have you ever tried to do a table top baracouda back tuck summersault ballet leg combo? I didn't think so. And we do at least 20 laps before each practice. Not to mention at least 30 mintues of sit ups, push ups, canadian legs, russain arms, all kinds of stuff. Then...we get in the water.

  • @sweetiegirl97 I know! People always think it's soo 'soft' and 'easy', but it's not!

  • @krazyboutkaito LOL I do speed swimming. I've competed in synchro for seven years and may I jut say that speed swimming was the easiest sport I had ever done. (And the team I was on was really good) Every practice felt like a warm up. Just sayin.

  • good god how do they do it!? =O

  • I used to think Synchronised swimming was a laugh and I wondered why it was part of the Olympics. Then my school made us do it... I never made fun of this again! It's SUPER DIFFICULT but very fun :)

  • @smaginn A CONVERTEE! I LOVE YOU lol :D

  • @smaginn ...Fun isn't exactly how I'd describe it after all the the blood sweat and tears. -_-

  • Why to put down the sport you know little about? This sport is artsy, mesmerizing, showing lots of athletes amazing strengths! If you aren’t into art, dance and music it’s just not for you… People are different, but please don’t insult any form of sport or art, you just put yourself down. Curious? Try it yourself and see what people are talking about : ) You may find lots of respect for this girls!

  • But think about it - try to do water polo, ballet, gymnastic, and weight lifting, jumping, running in the water that is 9-12 feet deep, not allowed to touch the pool bottom (otherwise disqualified), exercise upside-down, while holding breath (most elite synchro athletes can hold their breath for ~2 min).

  • In Sport Magazine Synchronized Swimming was rated one of 5 toughest sports in the world! It was planned to rank 5 tops from the toughest down. But when Synchro was aiming to be on top...the decision was made not to list sports, just name them. Shocking isn't it?

  • to anyone who thinks this sport is easy... i swam this routine with the national team, and its not freakin easy! this sport requires more than the ability to just float around. we work just as hard as any other athlete, probably harder and we trained for 8 hours everyday so next time you would like to bad mouth this sport... try sprinting a mile while holding your breath... thats pretty much our sport, but we have to do it all with a smile on our faces...

p.s. i was the solo in the beggining

  • I wanna go to the olympics and do this! I love synchro I have practice tonight. We practice 12 hours a week. And go as late as until 9pm!

  • @moonwhisper101 I practice 30 hours a week! I had practice this morning from 7-12

  • @leeshreno1 wow!!! :D im a beginner almost a intermediate

  • @moonwhisper101 Haha i live in canada so i don't really know what that is

here its like tiers, but then they changed it back to age groups so it's age groups, within tiers.

    it's wierd.

if you look it up im tier 7 junior

  • kim probst i think was on this team...her mom becky was my synchro coach when i did synchro awhile back!

  • How do they even do that? Geez, I couldn't do half of that while treading.

  • 1 question.... y do they all look asian?

  • @musiclover3369 they arent...

  • @musiclover3369 Maybe because you want that to be so - the eye of the beholder - I just saw a bunch of remarkable, really inspiring athletes - they happened to be women. To all naysayers - try any thirty seconds of this routine...go on...

  • @musiclover3369 they're wearing eyeliner....and the camera is far away..

  • how deep is the water? are they treading the entire time?? omg!

  • that looks REALLY hard!

  • @lilbluehersheykiss

This is true, but this was a wonderful combo/routine for the United States.

Russia;s routine was not suited for them, and was not executed well this competition. That is all =)

  • Synch swimming must be so hard. Dancing while holding your breath.

  • russian team is still the most strong!

  • Holy crap. I almost forgot that they are holding their breath the whole time they're doing all that. That's insane.
