your awesome technically, you suck in the feeling part. Just check Slash's, Steve Vai's, Jimmy Page's and David Gilmour's solos and you'll see what i'm talking about. If you want to be a true guitarist, don't just shred like an idiot, put some feeling in some melodic solos and when the situation becomes too boring, shred like 5-10 seconds. Good luck
cool sweeps, ilike more to play teh arpejios with alternate picking like steve morse and al di meola, but always is great heard someone that do it rigth.
i dont see the point in learning sweep picking.. it all sounds the same.. and its a pretty lame sound.. not to bash u dude im sure u got other shit down 2 but sweep picking is stupid
I totally agree Sa7sH. If a guitarist has any skill in creating real music and not this mortal combat sounding shit then it's pretty useless. You never hear Hendrix, Vaughn, Santana or anyone else worth their salt doing any of this.
Cause Hendrix and Santana were only very good, but incredibly influential. And it's just not vaughn's style. Vai, PEtrucci, Malmsteen, and Gilbert could destroy those 3 up there USING sweeps, but Ironically all 4 (I think) Were somewhat influenced by one of em.
While I agree with you that this isn't music, sweeping is great for building tension, especially if it isn't the standard box shapes that this guy's doing. I have a copy of Little Wing where hendrix did some sweeping at the end of a solo, and it was awesome.
The tone here isnt that bad; but I agree with your ctitisism of factory stock strat pickups - they can sound dreadful when played with distortion, especially with the wrong amp. I have experienced this with my own start, which sounds like a kazoo when played with distortion. (tip: if your strat sounds like a kazoo when using distortion, then try taping some foam over the speaker grill - it will take out some of that kazzo like treble tone). A good amp also helps.
For every hater that says something negative, just remember there's always more people who think that improvisation was bad-ass. These perfect internet musicians should make a video of themselves before they judge. Good job and keep pushing yourself.
Yeah because playing fast is like taking candy from a baby, everyone can do it...I hear a melody he is soloing over I think different root notes. But he is repeating scale runs and arps. There is a melody just no variety. Sounds cleaner than most people I see though, GJ.
I agree speed is everthing cause not only does it mean you can Play notes at a High rate it means Your brain can process notes at a hight rate...Makeing you better than a slower faggit
Very good Malmsteenesque ; -)

Yes sir, great point. I guarantee you if you asked any of the four you mentioned they would tell you they owe it all to Hendrix or one of those guys.

you play really nicely but I think you can improve your sound a lot with a less "plastic" distortion...
rodrigozamo 4 years ago
the plastic distortion comes from single coil pickups(stock strat)
dickyp1 4 years ago
there isn't anything wrong with the pickups dude i have a strat, and it is better then a humbucker of the same kind
