Katy, yes you are correct. Veda is one but there are 4 Main Bhagas (Groups) within it, which talks about 4 Main Topics such as:
RigVeda- All about Science, Human Anatomy, sickness and cure etc.
Yajurveda -- Management, Business, life, people etc.
Samaveda - Political Science, dharma/adharma, etc.
Atharvaveda -- Mechanics, Engineering.
These are the 4 main Vedas.
