10 things probably worth remembering in this movie. 1. BARDS SUCK 2. Don't ever backstab an inanimate object 3. Everything's better with pirates 4. When you're a guy playing a female character, remember it well 5. Using Lightsabers in D&D is copyright infringement 6. Charisma? WEEEE! 7. Killing a peasant coz of boredom is not a neutral act 8. 20 ranks in seduction FTW! 9. 4 elements = Boron 10. Story trumps rules
Gary Gygax MADE the role-playing game. He and his creation (Dungeons and Dragons) are the progenitors of the genre. Now, go sit in the Pit of Shame, you wannabe gamer. :P
@MagykalShadow Basicly a different story and that The Gamers used their own invented ruleset while Gamers 2 (and probably most subsequent sequels that might come) use D&D rules.
Why is it that the first three videos are public but the rest are private? Because of that I can only watch the first three parts. Is it intentional or just an accident?
I made a campaign which is a combo of Dragon Age, Fire Emblem, Legend of Zelda, and Final Fantasy a couple of RPG favorites and a favorite adventure game. I dunno how long it will take but man it's awesome.
That does sound like it could actually be pretty great to play :-) Word to the wise: Try not to mix everything up too much, because then it's incoherent and confusing. But I think, if you don't do that it's gonna be pretty cool^^
@IAmAwesomeRocker Sounds cool! I thought I was the only one that did stuff like that. I had an adventure that was a total mixture of Dragon age, Lord of the rings and The movie the 13th warrior with Antonio Banderas. Problem is my party are like these guys. Rule breaking half-minds that wont shut up when they die. Ungrateful munchkins really pisses me off. XD
Me and my group of gamers just finished a huge campeign that I wrote. We've been playing it for 2 years and had to rush the ending because our elf brought his really lame girlfriend who wanted to go home after we've been playing for only five hours (it was a saturday, so it was cool). He gave me attitude at the end, because he almost died (also because of an unexpected surprise). I see myself so much in Nathan Rice's character in this movie.... *sigh*
Gaming is so underappreciated. :P I actually like this one better than the first one! the camera and effects are better and its hilarious also way accurate in a way only a gamer can understand :D Also Brian Lewis is awesome

Feisty lady warrior who'd prefer to negotiate rather than fight? (In my playthrough at least) check. C;mon everybody. D&D is D&D. I play both 2nd ed. and 4th each once per week. They all have ups and downs about it. I'll say that 2nd is more "realistic" and 4th edition never leaves you bored because of the wide varieties of feats and skills. So let's all use our roll our Charisma or roll a diplomacy check and get back to whats important, rolling dice and beating the shit out monsters that our dm rolls in some bullshit random encounter chart when all our characters have like 8 hp left...
As much as I appreciate the upload of a funny movie, the fact that part 4 and after is set to private is a downer.
For those of you who are too lazy to search for a way to watch this, you can do a google search... novamov does have it available for free viewing. Or you could break and spend the $20 for the dvd. ya'know. whichever. :P
this is like i was in school playing dungeons and dragons i and my friends and teacher were playing and in beginning we were fighting some ras and then i kill the first one and i helped my friends after that then my friend found 2 barrels and he open one of it it was health poision and food then he opened the next one and it was poisened and one more rat and bla bla bla bla
i prefer 7th sea for role playing, the stats are easier to understand and there are no charachter "Classes" if you will. i am playing a charachter loosly based on 3 things, indiana jones, mac gyver, and yomiko readman from ROD, she has a maxed out researching skill (which i have rolled an 80 with) is a bibliomaniac, was kicked out of the explorer's socioty for blowing up a city block in castille (on accident), and has blessed beauty..... and no combat skills whatsoever (not even sprinting)
I really like 4th edition, but I'll like it even more once they start releasing more Game-World related stuff like they did with 3.5; things like CityScape and Stronghold Builder's Guide, or even going back to 1st Edition, World-Builder's Guide. I always bought those when they came out, and I'll definitely buy them in 4th if they come out too...
4th is too simple and way to restrictive... I feel like i am playing wow more than D&D when i play it...which i dislike...3.5 maybe a little broken in some ways but i feel you have more options as both a player and DM, and i am not just talking about game rules but just the freedom that comes from the system as a whole. 4.0 feels like it was built to be a hack and slash.
Is their gamers 1 on dvd? That one is 1000 times better than this one. This one is too much more spoof for me, and it has alot of sexual related crap in there.
This is the 4th edition, isn´t it? i play the 4th edition and we are very happy with that. if it isn´t the 4th editon what is edition? i´m from spain.
guys go check out my own first video called avalon games preview and go check out my website that is called avalon games and you could by the games you like and it is so awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@arconnect0 Though even by lore and story, a cleric who has spells prepared are given them by their goddess, they do not have a constant connection for their spells which is why they cannot change up spells like a sorcerer whenever they want. So cutting a cleric off does not immedietly strip all the clerics prepared spells, but does not let the cleric do an hour prayer or 8 hour rest to prepare more.
Ah, but thats a standard story that the books give you to make playing quicker games easier. The story in any given game is what the DM makes it, if he says getting cut off from your god cuts off your power, than I guess clerics aren't just given all their powers once per day, it is a constant thing.
@arconnect0 Oh I know, but coming from someone who likes to write endlessly. Deus Ex Magika (As I have lovingly called it) really destroys a persons ability to enjoy a story as we are not retarded. While starwars may be high scifi, even then a Jedi doesn't randomly pullout a lightsaber WHIP, or have a human (Naked) suddenly immune to lightsabers because he believesi n the heart of the cards. It destroys the viewer's(Players) ability to connect with the scenario many times.
@arconnect0 And what it comes down to it, A great writer can write around any rules (Like why I abash oblivion for putting in story elements their game cannot handle instead of writing around the engine limitations as a "Believeable Excuse" as I like to call them)
Heck, even "Roll a knowledge check. Okay....Being so close to the mask's evil presence shields you and your party from the light of your goddess, a tool usually used by only the most powerful and wicked of beings"
Random place to ask this I know, but do any experienced DMs have a tip for someone running their first campaign? I've gamed for a long time but this is my first time behind the mat, and I have 5 experienced gamers including someone who worked on the original movie of The Gamers. Needless to say I'm nervous for our first session.
@KyleBMasterThespian Keep your players in mind. Know what they like and try to create memorable action and roleplaying scenes. Don't plan with too much details, so you can improvise if they think of something you did not think about. Don't be stressed too : no one has huge expectations for someone's first game as a DM!
It happens... DM try to make the history to have weight on the game, and then something that "wasnt pointed in the rules" comes out and all the players start to cry about. It is the charge of Dungeon Mastery. But if you do things right and try to be fair (Hard as Hell) you can become a good DM and keep your players enjoying the game.
Are y'all gonna make a soundtrack? I *LOVE* the intro music!

I have to agree with the party who were pissed about the cleric loosing his power. It's an interesting turn, but the DM obviously engineered the encounter to be overwhelming to begin with. DMs can do that, but the objective isn't to screw the party with stuff like that.

So well done.
Too much away from the gaming table in the beginning, but a great film anyway.

This is so realistic, it's freaking scary, up until a woman got involved who actually enjoyed playing. I've heard of it, but yet to see it.

i prefer 7th sea for role playing, the stats are easier to understand and there are no charachter "Classes" if you will. i am playing a charachter loosly based on 3 things, indiana jones, mac gyver, and yomiko readman from ROD, she has a maxed out researching skill (which i have rolled an 80 with) is a bibliomaniac, was kicked out of the explorer's socioty for blowing up a city block in castille (on accident), and has blessed beauty..... and no combat skills whatsoever (not even sprinting)

Whoah, he took that die right in the face and barely flinched, I wonder how many takes they did before they got it.

I really like 4th edition, but I'll like it even more once they start releasing more Game-World related stuff like they did with 3.5; things like CityScape and Stronghold Builder's Guide, or even going back to 1st Edition, World-Builder's Guide. I always bought those when they came out, and I'll definitely buy them in 4th if they come out too...
sciencemile 1 year ago
Pathfinder is a good alternative to D&D 4.0 as it's more or less 3.5 but cleaned up and with a new base of support.
Drogmir 1 year ago
Vanilla Ice plays D&D?
MnMike1970 1 year ago
4th is too simple and way to restrictive... I feel like i am playing wow more than D&D when i play it...which i dislike...3.5 maybe a little broken in some ways but i feel you have more options as both a player and DM, and i am not just talking about game rules but just the freedom that comes from the system as a whole. 4.0 feels like it was built to be a hack and slash.

Is their gamers 1 on dvd? That one is 1000 times better than this one. This one is too much more spoof for me, and it has alot of sexual related crap in there.

DM and Story trumps core rules every.single.time.
arconnect0 1 year ago 51
Screw the story, it's all about waffles! :3
HotStew 1 year ago 3
@arconnect0 Though even by lore and story, a cleric who has spells prepared are given them by their goddess, they do not have a constant connection for their spells which is why they cannot change up spells like a sorcerer whenever they want. So cutting a cleric off does not immedietly strip all the clerics prepared spells, but does not let the cleric do an hour prayer or 8 hour rest to prepare more.
Sorry, RPer here :p
WhiteTiger225 1 year ago
@WhiteTiger225
Ah, but thats a standard story that the books give you to make playing quicker games easier. The story in any given game is what the DM makes it, if he says getting cut off from your god cuts off your power, than I guess clerics aren't just given all their powers once per day, it is a constant thing.
Sorry, DM here.
arconnect0 1 year ago
@arconnect0 Oh I know, but coming from someone who likes to write endlessly. Deus Ex Magika (As I have lovingly called it) really destroys a persons ability to enjoy a story as we are not retarded. While starwars may be high scifi, even then a Jedi doesn't randomly pullout a lightsaber WHIP, or have a human (Naked) suddenly immune to lightsabers because he believesi n the heart of the cards. It destroys the viewer's(Players) ability to connect with the scenario many times.
WhiteTiger225 1 year ago
@arconnect0 And what it comes down to it, A great writer can write around any rules (Like why I abash oblivion for putting in story elements their game cannot handle instead of writing around the engine limitations as a "Believeable Excuse" as I like to call them)
Heck, even "Roll a knowledge check. Okay....Being so close to the mask's evil presence shields you and your party from the light of your goddess, a tool usually used by only the most powerful and wicked of beings"
WhiteTiger225 1 year ago
@arconnect0 of course, but some gamers never get that. they forget rule number 0: DM/GM makes the rules.
daemonsparta 1 year ago
@arconnect0 the books specifically state that they are guidelines

Random place to ask this I know, but do any experienced DMs have a tip for someone running their first campaign? I've gamed for a long time but this is my first time behind the mat, and I have 5 experienced gamers including someone who worked on the original movie of The Gamers. Needless to say I'm nervous for our first session.
KyleBMasterThespian 1 year ago

FantocheXIII 2 years ago
i dont really find it all that difficult, as long as you go good players (even if they are rules lawyers, im one as well.)
what im saying is i only allow REAL role players into my group instead of people wanting to get as much treasure and EXP as possible.
so far, my players let the plot wagon run over them all the time.
