  • I fucking love this film.

  • put a fence up

  • 2:58 it blows my mind that those 2 guys witness that guys suicide.. i think id be tramatized a bit

  • pause it at 3:01 . Imagine ig you were those 2 walking on the side and saw the man over ?? I'd have been like, No freakkin way !!!

  • I blame capitalism in some measure for this.

  • @transdrole I blame Country music

  • 5:56 John Lennon

  • The world makes me sad.

  • when does life become so hard that suicide is the last option

  • John Lennon to the left at 05:58

  • why does that kill them? it looks like they are just taking a dive in the water

  • @ac3jc because hitting that water at the rate of speed they are is just simple physics...it is like hitting concrete...98% fatal.

  • @JoyDivisiongirl

Hey i love joy division and bridges too. Lets date.

    Just kidding

  • You think theyd have top notch security by now...or not such easy access.

  • @BrandonJoshuaMusic golden gate is getting a anti suicide net by 2013. so they r geting security.

when u hit the net a crain lifts u up to the deck

  • @violist1000 I should plan a trip to get there before the net is up!

  • @calvinblinkee i heard good news just recently. the suicide net board JUST GOT THE 5 MILL FOR THE RESEARCH TO BUILD IT that will take a year and a half. ! itl take 50 million to build it. so the construction will start in a year and a half about.

the bridge is 2 miles long so it should be done by 2014sh. so you have a bit more time but i would suggest still to go as early as possible.

  • @calvinblinkee they still havnt found the 50 million to build it yet even.. the current infrastructer act doesnt include bridges.

  • @1randomgaming1 when i see things like this .. it makes me wanna offer help.. im no one special but i love n respect people as human beings... life hurts alot sometimes..... i wish i could help anyone who feels that way ... i think most of us have these kinda thoughts at some point in our lives... how we make it thru is the real challenge ....

  • i heard the guy who founded victorias secret jumped of the bridge too when he learned that it was a mistake on his side for selling his company.

  • @itspennysboat your rigiht. the founder of vicotiras secret did jump off on the golen gate

  • Call me a selfish asshole but i think it's selfish to make a person who's tortured and annoyed with life stay here with us. Let them go peacefully and in a way they wish to go. They hate the way things are going for them. Let them go on their terms and be happy that they did it and not somebody else. Sorry.

  • @Hellofriend332 Seven months and eight days. I remember exactly when he died. I'm not over his death, probably never will be. You're a coward hiding behind a screen name on a website. You would never be brave enough to say this to someone's face, and I'm a strong believer in Karma. Remember this when you lose somebody close to you. Stupid F*ck.

  • To all those people who say that those jumper's were brave:

How is hurting your family brave? I lost my cousin this year, and it... it has truly left a hole in our hearts. I understand the pain, I was there before, but the fact is - Life doesn't end just because it's hard or painful. You have the choice to either pick yourself up off the ground or give up and take the easy way out. I picked myself up and continued to live. Life isn't easy, but I thank God for it every day I see my family smile.

  • @StoryWhisper Sorry for your loss.

  • @ParkLeeNa Thank you. My cousin was 15 years old... he never had the chance to live his life. That's the biggest regret I feel toward his actions. He never lived. You may think you know everything at that age but the truth is, life is just beginning. It's not always great but it's worth living when you get past the bumps. I was there at one time and am very active in my local suicide awareness groups. More so now since he died.

  • @StoryWhisper You cousin deserved it. Im glad he killed himself. He was better off dead! XD

  • Who are we to judge these people or make assumptions? Noone can look into another person's soul.

  • Umm, how do these people actually die? I doubt that they'd die on impact, meaning that they're left to drown, which is a terrible way to die. If that is the case then this is a really stupid way to off yourself.

  • @thaer12345 Either they drown, which is not very common, or suffer blunt-force trauma. They hit the water pretty hard. I mean, survivors have tons and tons of broken bones and damaged organs. Every single survivor hit the water feet-first at an angle, by the way. The deceased hit it head-first and it tears their bodies apart.

  • @kourtnied Ah, I see. If I was in their position I think I would probably opt for a method as painless and as guaranteed as possible, but I kind of get why they'd opt for the bridge since it's so easily accessible.

  • @thaer12345 I read that it is a 4 second fall and the equivelent of jumping from a 25 story building. At that height, hitting the water is like hitting a brick wall, causing massive internal injuries, broken bones etc. The worst thing is that many survive the fall and then are left in massive pain and no ability to swim or shout for help-almost all the survivors say they KNEW it was a huge mistake the second they let go- and die alone in the cold water.

  • The jumpers who were filmed won't have died in vane if somebody who's seriously thinking of jumping changes their mind after watching this.

  • First time i saw this, as soon as the man committed suicide i was done...

    i left..

  • What I find most eerie is that these people jumped never knowing that someone was filming them. They leapt, figuring that it was just them. Yet now, the whole world can watch their last moment again, and again, and again. We're watching people do something incredibly private, and yes, even BRAVE, and they did it all alone, at least THINKING they were all alone. Very eerie.

  • @Gorshkin111 they figured it was just them? I wonder if thats what was even one of the thoughts thats ran through them. They had an indivisual intention of what and why they did it, and apparently they chose a monument like this. Maybe when you do something so drastic and unexpected, it doesnt really matter whose filming, I KNOW that would be the last of my concerns.

  • @Gorshkin111 also doing something private is NOT in public.

  • @Gorshkin111 agreed...but not so private if their jumping from the bridge for the whole world to see lol its to be expected

  • wtf would u guys like this? People with depressing lives not wanted to live take there won lives everyday. They fucking died on impact breaking all there bones and you fucking like that?! My friend hang him self because he was made fun of would i like that? Fuck no

  • I wonder what the Camera Crew was doing when they spotted a potential Jumper?..I mean they must developed a realization spotting the jumpers. Were they like"Ah C'mon buddy jump for fuck sake what are you thinking about man jump !!!" Because I'm sure they wanted these ppl to jump.Otherwise there would be no movie right??? No Jumpers No Film about Jumpers!I don't Know if I like the Fact They filmed the ppl jumping. But who am I to say that,Anyone ever survived a jump from gg bridge?Let me know PLS!

  • @jozsefkacsa no they didnt .. you dont have to want someone to di it . u just have to wait and watch .. they come of there own free will ......

  • .. wow, Lisa´s family really are a bunch of fucking assholes...

  • @oskarnordin1 ...how so?

  • One of the most touching and sad documentaries I have seen. RIP.

  • what is the name of this music, its so haunting

  • The guy at 2:48 is what I feel like doing everyday.

  • @MrJaffa2015 i m doing that later good bye

  • @CanadianChronic2121 good luck

  • The elderly man leaping in this part of the documentary was the jump that got me the most, you can tell by his body movements after his hat fell off that he realized what a terrible mistake he had just made. Many who commit suicide in a manner where they are still alive past the point of no return change their mind, but too late. Those are the people who aren't fully sure if death is what they really want, those who don't realize what they have until they make the fatal action.

  • i plan on jumping soon- id be interested in being featured on season 2.

  • Such a beautiful place to go! :)

  • God rest their souls. I don't believe in a vengful GOD I believe one is forgiven no matter what. The hell they say suicidal people will end up is the life we lead NOW !

  • taking your own life is selfish to your friends and family

  • @teamunreel19 to them its not they feel that they r relieving them when they r gone.

  • @teamunreel19 then tell that to the 9/11 victims that jumped are they selfish to for choosing to die quickly instead of suffering

  • @lionking4iscomingIV EXACTLY !!! My pain is no different than theirs !!! They had a choice to make and made it !!!

  • @teamunreel19 It's selfish to expect someone to live, even though they have a horrible life JUST so that you can feel better.

  • Thank you for putting this movie up.

  • They're all Cobarde's

  • I remember when I first saw this movie - it was 2:00am... couldn't sleep so I turned the tv on. A movie was getting ready to start called "The Bridge" so I thought I'd give it a try. From the opening this movie grabs you - it really shows you how bad some have it.

  • Lisa's sister is a cunt.

  • POTTY, POTTY, POTTY...!

  • I go potty with my bottom.... It smells like UH-OH!

  • Hey Ms.L it's Kayla from 8th period. This the most shocking video i have ever watched. I'm just thinking why some one would choose this place to end it all. There a lot of people that live there.

  • Hey Ms. L. Marcos from 8th period. I was completely shocked at this video. I never thought that of all places, San Francisco would be a favorite suicide spot.

  • this Ashley from p.8 Mrs.L. this clip actually shocked me and the first old man when he just instantly just off with no regrets or seconds thought. He must have wanted death to come for a very long time.

  • @richluttich, your fake Christian act of "they are in hell now" is so full of Sh-t that i ALLMOST made me laugh, these people had problems, and not the kind of problems you can make go away with some cash or counseling, these people felt like they didn't DESERVE to die, take Gene for example, he was Vey popular to say the least, and still did it, why? Because some people are just not born to be alive, they are born to die, thats what i believe, so GTFO my back and let me have respect for them TY

  • Hey ms L its brett from 8th per. thought this vid was kinda depressing bc it shows you how desperate people feel when there is no where to turn.... and glad we didnt have a quiz today :D

  • Hey Ms.L , It's Andrea from period 8, This music is getting me scared & anxious . I'm shaking ! I feel bad for these people , But I just want to see them jump already D=

  • this is so painful to watch.. think about it, that's someones grandpa, father, son. these poor souls, tortured to the point of suicide. rest in peace.

  • @nancybl Hey Mrs.L im watching it now , then ill go read into the wild and do the appletrees :))

  • What the world is wrong with those kiting guys? How can you NOT understand why someone would want to do that? Have you NOT been depressed?

  • just today i was fishing off the dock closest to the bridge when some one had jumped it still happens all the time

  • Such a great documentary.

  • fuck these people rip my ass its selfish and these people would get a life or job and school maybe do sumthing might have something to live for

  • @jdoggystyle666 It's selfish to not open you mind to other perspectives in this world. Unfortunately people aren't born the same as you, just like we all are not born to be the son/daughter of a millionaire and so on.

  • @jdoggystyle666 The problem is a job, school, or "something" brings on more anxieties, problems, stresses, and reasons to not want to live, so why torture your presence here dreaming up fake ideals that you are in a perfect world where there is another day to live, when that "another day" is just "another hell"?

  • Anyone know the name of the song playing while they're "kiting"?

  • There was a news story recently about a boy who jumped from the GGB on a school trip as a dare and survived. He even only had minor spinal and back injuries and a few broken ribs. Lucky he wasn't killed. But this beautiful albeit macabre documentary really reinforces the concept that life is precious and shouldn't be thrown away.

  • What would you say to those you care about? It sounds so flat. Sorry. I love you. I wish... How can you say why you died when you dont know yourself. No note is best. What can those that read it do now anyways? R.I.P. Gene. I understand.

  • this documentairy made me think a lot, not about the fact that the maker filmed people commit suicide, not about the family who tells about how they were, but about the bravery of the people who had the guts to say, Life is not ment for me, so it will be best if i left" you hear a lot of people saying that it was weak, or not fair towards the family, but in the end, do we have the right to force them to live a life THEY allready know is not ment for them? i don't think so, nobody has that right.

  • @kevin18postuma Guts? Those people are cowards who opted for the EASY way out. Pussies like that deserve no respect. They are in hell now, where they belong.

  • @kevin18postuma It's not bravery mate, it's deep despair. It would be bravery to choose to remain alive, instead of taking the "easy way out". Life is meant for everybody. I don't think they are weak, I don't think it's about fairness towards the family, but I don't think they are brave for commiting the act. They are suffering, afraid, and in need of help. my 2 cents.

  • @ParkLeeNa Exactly true. It's simply mental illness, sadly it's so much more than that. I wish that we knew more about mental illness and proper ways to effectively treat it.

  • @kevin18postuma Does the person who commits suicide have the right to hurt the family and friends who remain afterwards with their act? Or like in the case of these bridge jumpers also possibly screw up the lives of the people that have to see it? No. It's a VERY selfish act and a cowardly one at that most of the time imo. If you are terminaly ill, been in horrible physical pain for YEARS that won't get better, or are severly mentally ill, I can at least understand suicide in those situations.

  • @lubesucker101 Really, you're asking for my SOURCE? Look, there are 365 days in a year. September 11 is one of those days (in other words, 1/365). This means that approximately 1/365 videos should be posted on September 11.

You implied there was a connection, otherwise, why would there be something weird about this video being posted on 9/11? Maybe if this was a video about the history of the Twin Towers or something, THEN it would be weird for it to be posted on 9/11, but not this video.

  • @lubesucker101 Not really. 1/365 of YouTube videos ought to be posted on 9/11. And the 9/11 is completely unrelated to this, so I can't see where you found the connection.

  • my heart hurts.

  • If you hit the water head first, is it still possible that the jumping person does not die on impact, or even does not lose his/her consciousness and dies by drowning in excruciating pain? If yes, that must be sheer terror!

  • Isn't anyone concerned about the copycat suicides that result from this video?

  • @imperfectionKillz

There are plenty of suicides from the golden gate bridge already. There's no evidence of any copycat suicides occuring.

  • @loner1878 I'm sure I'm not the only one who has wanted to jump off that bridge after seeing it three years ago on TV. Not that I would now... But I remember when they discussed documentary this on Dr. Phil.

  • @imperfectionKillz

I saw that Dr Phil ep too, its how I learned about the documentary

  • Why kill yourself when you could kill others? if you are throwing it all, make it worth it, make a local massacre!

  • @mau571 WTF is wrong with you man....

  • Less filler and more jumping!

  • I'm glad that I scare to much of death to kill myself.

Have nothing to live or die for but if I want to change my life I have to stay alive.

I just wish They're all happy now.

  • how about the kid that jumped off this bridge recently(on a dare) and survived

i think it was a school trip or something...I think he had some sore ribs but relatively unscathed.

    strange.

  • Ah... suicide spotting might be a bigger challenge then aircraft spotting. isn't it?

  • 23 people killed themselves in the very same spot in one year? That's beyond sad. That's eerie. *shudders* What is up with that bridge? Anything dark in its history?

  • @davettalashley

Nah, its just convinent for suicides.

  • I got a boner.

  • Too much filler

  • I wish i could've been there for all of these people, just to be someone they could talk to.. it breaks my heart that people feel so sad they feel the need to take their lives..:(

  • one thing i dont understand is that these poor people are super depressed, and a bunch of people are just walking by! why dont they help or even try to talk them out of it! this is what makes me sick of human beings.

  • May these poor, lonely souls rest in peace, my hearts goes to them :(

  • we have all been depressed at one time or another....but to jump of a bridge into that freezing cold water ? ...these people were feeling lower than we can ever imagine....rip to those sad souls

  • the sad part of it was that the victims usually died from the impact, those who survived the fall, would be in endless amounts of pain from the damage, and add to it, is the freezing water, and giant winds, and strong currents, so falling then drowning? but the worst pain would be nothing of that, its the depression that hurts the most. the feeling of not being wanted, or feeling you are useless to this world, puts you into the state of mind that death is the only release. May their souls R.I.P.

  • @giddy123456 I agree

  • @giddy123456 Word.

  • @giddy123456 taking your own life is selfish to your friends and family

  • @teamunreel19 that's another part of the biggest pain, you're hurting your friends and family mentally and emotionally, causing them to become depressed, and possibly commit suicide.

  • @giddy123456 most people would pass out from the pain of the fall.

  • I love San Francisco. The bridge does kind of have that effect on you. It just makes you curious and wonder.

  • It's so surreal watching this when I walk/drive across this bridge all the time.

I know this happens regularly but its still just unbelievable to see unfold.

  • this is probably how its gonna end for me too.

  • @TheIrocube Please hang on to life Ive contemplated jumping may times but fight it everyday.May you find peace of mind.

  • :((

  • I don't understand suicide... : (

  • @Desahogada You are very lucky

  • Agreed people saying that others are weak for trying to commit suicide don't know what they are talking about... sigh so many ignorant fools on this planet

  • i cant believe they didn't try to stop them

  • RIP

  • no matter what critics say about this film, its undeniable that it brought more attention to a subject most people wont talk about than anything before it. and i think that's whats most important.

  • DON"T FILM IT, SAVE THOSE FKIN PEOPLE

  • @MissWooHoo1 wow. You are horrible...

  • damn i wanted to see that first guy go SPLAT!!

  • @MissWooHoo1 Wow, you're a cunt.

  • @MechaTeapot there are bigger fucken problems in the world than retards that wanna end their lives. at least they arent in pain anymore but the millions of starving children that dont choose to be starving and cant get help still are.

  • @MissWooHoo1 If you claim to care about starving children, then you'd care about the people jumping off bridges - after all, they're both humanitarian issues. What about their families? What if they have kids who may have to consequently be put into care because of it? 'Bigger fucking problems'? The whole documentary is tackling the issue of the bridge being a suicide target area (as if you even care).

It's people like you that are the problem, not these 'retards' as you brand them.

  • @MechaTeapot hey at least humans arent practically extinct. theres about 500 siberian tigers left in the wild thanks to us. They are a bigger problem than starving children and stupid people who jump off bridges.

  • @MissWooHoo1 I give up. You're ridiculous.

  • @MissWooHoo1 Maybe you should make a doco on the problem of Siberian Tiger populations then.

  • @MissWooHoo1 you are obviously completely oblivious to how serious mental illness is. Those "stupid people" as you kindly put it so bluntly for us, are in so much mental pain that they have resulted in ending their lives. Can your small brain imagine what that may be like for them? More than likely not. Stop posting on this, when you should be gathering vast amounts of information for Miss Woo Hoo 1's groundbreaking up and coming siberian tiger documentary! eug.

  • @MissWooHoo1 die in a fire.

  • @MissWooHoo1 you're a pathetic clueless fucking idiot. maybe you should educate yourself on this issue before you go shouting your bullshit. I can't beleive you're so ignorant that you think people killing themselves because they see no way of getting better are "retarded" and "stupid people", hunni, I think that second lable you gave to the severly depressed people actually belongs to you. grow the fuck up.

  • Don't criticize on them. Life is a matter of happiness. Some find happiness in this world and some just have to move on to find treir true happiness in the other. Clearly, death is just another beginning.

  • So many comments here make me sick.

I truly wish there is karma, and some of you get hit in the face by it real hard.

  • @thebestkeptsecret8 you're very very ignorant.

  • @thebestkeptsecret8 you have no idea what these people have gone through. Get your facts right before making such outrageous comments

  • @thebestkeptsecret8 fuck you you don't know what the fuck depression is like so don't talk shit about people who have to suffer with it. dick

  • @thebestkeptsecret8 your life is sooo awesome that you spend your time trolling youtube...ok then...anyone can be depressed, no matter how "awesome" their life is. Look at all the rich, famous, talented people who have commited suicide.

  • The filmmakers did not disclose to the interviewees that they were making a documentary film with footage of people they knew acting out suicide dharma

  • people who commit suicide=mentally weak people

society needs to get rid of the weak so they're doing something good.

  • @thebestkeptsecret8 your shitty trolling is not appreciated or actually good.. kill your family members, then see if you're mentally weak :)

  • @thebestkeptsecret8 You sound like Hitler. Hitler committed suicide, so I think maybe you should go?

  • @thebestkeptsecret8 Seriously? They aren't weak people. They tried and tried to put up with mental disorders and abuse and sadly felt like only one option was availible. I dont know what you mean when you say "get rid of them" I hope you dont mean their suicides. We need to pay attention to suicides and not shrug it off like its normal or justified.

  • @thebestkeptsecret8 clearly you're an ignorant moron. you have no idea how horrible you have to feel to resort to suicide. depression and any form of mental illness is one of the hardest things anyone could ever have to deal with. do your fucking research before you call people weak.

  • @beforethestormx31 Don't take things so personally, mate. This is the internet, it's full of people who don't give a shit about anyone but themselves. I'm sorry you've been having a hard time.

  • Hey Cosmic how are you feeling these days it sounds like you had some rough times But I'm happy that you overcome your depression. I know it hard to overcome sometimes because my wife has depression but I'm there for her to be her strength. She has alot to forward to I got her alot of help and i'm proud to say she is doing great. So it is possible to overcome those lows.

  • How heartless you are CosmicDestoryer99 just take the time and image that someone you love jump off the bridge would you still be happy I guess not. These people who hit rock bottom need our help in the biggest way. I just wish they would seek help before taking their lives nothing can be that bad that you can't overcome. Please look for help before making the decision of ending your life. Believe it or not your a special person that many people love and care about .

  • How heartless you are CosmicDestoryer99 just take the time and image that someone you love jump off the bridge would you still be happy I guess not. • I often wonder how these people must feel. I suffer from depression and my life has been extreeemely hard..sometimes I just wanna give up and die..but I know I would never give in to those feelings and kill myself. So I wonder as bad as I feel..they must feel even worse..and that's scary to even think about. So I can completely understand why they would do this, even though I wish they could find a better way.

  • Are there better ways than this to kill yourself ? Pls help me guys !

  • After all those suicides, why don't they make the fence on the bridge higher up. Makes no sense to me.

  • @sbg75

    1) Cost is the primary issue

    2) A higher fence will only prevent suicides from the bridge, not suicide in general. Its treating a symptom, not the disease.

  • If your thinking about killing yourself, just message me before you do. I have lost a lot of things because of my suicide attempt. I lost the trust of my family and I even lost friends. I'm a total outcast now. It seems like I have more reason to do it again than ever before but luckily I found peace through God. He is the only thing keeping me move forward in life. You don't know how many times the nurses told my mom I wasn't gonna make. No parent ever wants to hear/endure that or a loved one.

  • @blackblurable Just keep your head up. Family still loves you and friends that run off bcz of that make me question how much of a friend they were.

  • My mind is so twisted, the very first thing that popped into my head was "Man I should of got a gun, rope, pills, and jumped off a 20 story building." Instead of saying man I wish I didn't jump. I'm not suicidal anymore but man am I I a disaster now. I can barely walk, I can't do anything I used to do like skate, jump, run around, or walk my dog. I can barely ride a bike. I have a couple plates and like 12 screws in each foot. I will NEVER take anything for granted ever again.
