HELP ME!!!! After adjustment to 4 upper right back crowns I was in bed for 30 days with severe pain. My dentist has taken away my ability to chew anything. I'm living on liquids and mush. I've lost lots of weight in the past 60 days from this.
Good tips, but perhaps not effective for more acute and long-term cases. I had the Botox treatment for TMJ at 212 Smiling (Dr. William Wolfson) on 56th Street in NYC. I'll admit I was a little apprehensive, but they could not have been kinder and more gentle. They made sure I understood all the aspects of the treatment before they started and gave me after-care instructions too.
It gave me relief that I had not had for years. Yes, it requires subsequent visits, but it's worth it.
I have always had the clicking in my jaw when opening and closing my mouth. You should probably see the dentist and they might be able to help you stop it. Thats what I did. They recommended me to a specialist though.

A prosthodontist made a splint for me and I' m mostly pain free! Now I wonder if my damaged 4 crowns can be fixed.

Good tips. My dentist made me a night splint and that works great (and it doesn't look as silly as the cotton rolls)
I wear that 24/7
