All of you officers are going to IRAQ or AFGHANISTAN. Fuck this school spirit bullshit, especially when your men are dying. How many so called Aggies have to go through that? I mean the Department of Defense give your school a hefty budget.
@Martexas1, you have not the LEAST idea what you are talking about. Corps members have VOLUNTEERED to serve their country, and to be trained rigorously before doing so. The university supports them vigorously on every possible occasion. It's called "esprit de corps," a concept with which you obviously have not even a passing acquaintance. Earning my Ph.D. there only INCREASED my respect for the fierce loyalty and sense of family which most Aggies share.
I was in the Zone for this game, with my brother, a member of the fightin Texas Aggie class of 2003, and was truly mesmerized by the loyalty of the students to the cause on the field. A&M fans are truly like no other fans in their show of steadfast support. Great game with an even better ending!!!!
This was the Fresno St game. This game was suicide for the players on the field. the temp on the field was like 120 degrees. People in the stands were dropping like flys from heat related injuries. But the 12th man stayed true and the Aggies took the win in Triple overtime. This really was an incredible game to watch.
That was 4 hours into a game when the temperature was 120+ in the stands. It started out full, but thousands had to leave before they got seriously ill and hundreds were carried out and received medical attention under the decks.
Yes, A&M was down by 30 or 40 during OT..... Tied 39-39 as seen in the video. People were passing out so they had to leave, it wasn't a big crowd draw at only 76k, but the student section was packed before the game started.
We might only have one team to root for, but Texas has more than 5x the population that Tennessee has so it would be expected to have more than major conference school that people root for..and the whole thing that Texas A&M fans don't sit throughout the whole game.... I don't remember one time at Neyland Stadium where I saw the student section sitting down... so I don't see how only A&M gets recognition for standing being the only fans that stand the whole game.
shut up,most people look at A&M and say"their team sux"or"y do they yell all the time?"but thats b/c they'v never been to an A&M game.ok A&M isnt the best at sports,w/e,the student body will support them anyway an get their asses up there an still yell as loud as they can b/c its all about fun, tradition an spirit.thats the point.ok there was empty seats,it was extremely hot that day,it happens, people pass out,but others stayed and thats what matters.get over yourself, this is bigger than seats
I'm in the Aggie Band and I was at this game. So many band members, who are used to physically demanding practices in heat and such, passed out from the heat. Down on the field it was over 120 degrees. Over 500 people passed out and had to get medical attention. 100 went to the hospital. Standing in the heat as a part of the 12th man (cause we don't sit) was brutal. People for ANY team at ANY stadium would be leaving after entering the 3rd overtime in those conditions. People stayed. Incredible
Ok since in Tennessee they only have 1 team to root for honestly. Texas you have A&M, Texas, Texas Tech, TCU even. It's not just a whole state pretty much supporting one team.
It's not so much that we didn't fill the stadium (many of the students left after regulation) but that the remaining students stayed and yelled louder than we did earlier in the game. But of course you wouldn't understand cause you weren't there.
that was an awesome crowd!

Kind of looks like that scene on Titanic when they all start running to the back of the ship.

Thats right, faggies play military and then announce themselves as pro military. Let the lower class deal with it.

@Martexas1, your insults point out unsavory characteristics of YOU, not of the Aggies.

I like how it began to rain the moment the game ended. That was a really fun freakin' game despite the heat.

because of the history of the 12th Man at TEXAS A&M the students support the team win, outscored, or tie

@Aggies155 Outscored? You mean lose rite, who the heck says outscored!?

Plus there were many cases of people fainting that day due to the heat, a guy next to me fainted and fell a couple steps.
bounds13 3 years ago
So apparently half the upper deck fainted, probably most of them when they realized Fresno was taking them to OT.
