It's a kick-ass light indeed. I have one, and I love it as well. I consider it a bit too large for my EDC usage though, considering that bright 1-battery lights like the E1B and L1 are available, adequately bright, and much more convenient to carry. However, the LX2 is DEFINITELY a very viable for household and automobile use.
I used to carry the E1B before, but decided to upgrade to the LX2, I just love the output, but since then I upgraded to the fenix PD31 which is insanely bright with a lot more outputs options, and the PD31 is between the E1B and LX2 in lenght, the price is very reasonnable also, the only problem is that Fenix is not built in North America,
I think that surefire is starting to lose it's edge in illumination tools
