YES GENE DIDN'T PLAY BASS ON A LOT OF SONGS IN THE 80'S

SOME WAS DUE TO ACTING, OTHER REASONS WERE BECAUSE

SOMEONE ELSE PLAYED HIS PARTS ON BASS BETTER...

HOWEVER, IN THE 70'S THERE ARE ALSO A LOT OF SONGS

THAT GENE DID NOT PLAY BASS ON, THE MAIN BASS LICK ON

DETROIT ROCK CITY IS NOT GENE, IT IS ACE...

AND THAT IS ONE EXAMPLE...

@anaheimangels40 where the fuck did you get your facts from ???? the only songs during the 70's gene didnt play bass on was love gun because he and paul argued in the studio and he told paul to do it..gene never played bass on a couple of 80's tracks because he was away acting...there is no other songs he didnt play bass on, there was a book released in australia in 96 that gave info on every song they recorded. it was ace and peter that were constantly replaced by session players..

@anaheimangels40 we have been waiting for ace and peters book for 20 years, and the thing is, like their solo material, no one will buy it...gene never played some bass tracks in the 80s cause he was away filming movies, as for the 70's love gun is the only bass tracks gene never played on. i can tell ur a ace and peter supporter. those 2 were pathetic from day 1, i would be embarrassed to be known more for what i NEVER played on that what i played on. show me proof of those peter quotes ??

@bytebull is that why gene almost didnt play a single note on any album recorded after lick it up? check the wiki, and there are lists of session musicians that sat in for gene for each album after 83, when he was being an "actor"
