I never tire of listening and reveling in the glorious joy that is invoked by this song and the singing of it by this embodiment of the human spirit...Indeed, this is the best that life gives us...goodness set to music...It's like butterflies in the summer sun...finding the honor in watching their purposeful, delicate flight...knowing that the moment lives forever within me. The best kind of strength being gained from such moments of simple peace...
As with so many gifts life gives us unexpectedly, I discovered Rafe Pearlman by random accident while dropping in on Water Sines live from St. Mark's Cathedral. His voice, when given free reign to express, is simply a marvelous gift and a blessing to listeners. I couldn't agree more with mommameigs... I feel like I have somehow, and quite inadvertently, stumpled upon a great mystery and an erstwhile hidden treasure all at once. Woo-hoooooo life is sweet!!!
this song could be used as the "how to video" on so many techniques that it just blows my mind...songwriting of course, but also, use of syncopation, upper register perfection, how to convey emotion and feeling, tell a story/ paint a picture, ...breathing techniques, incorporation of the "round" in a modern song style, complimentary beat patterns, use of the palette in sound creation, proper mic placement/ usage...the list goes on and on.. it's absolutely amazing.
Rafe is an amazing vocalist
