The Konami Code is only Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A (note that it's B, A, not A, B). Select was to select 2 players, you didn't have to press this. And Start was just to start the game, it wasn't part of the code either.

Yes, I honestly believe that aftermarket things, especially chips basically suck. Not because they fail to decode 8-bit streams, but because of their DAC converter. That thing makes bits become sounds. And they suck. If you have no experience with real sound cards and emulators and you don't know this please don't brag like some technician with tourette's

As awesome as Contra is I think they could do a fairly good movie with the right director and actually focused on the game. First you're in the jungle and then a rocky waterfall area then getting inside the base. All pretty simple stuff to put into a movie.
