NUNCA MORIRAS!!!!
This so-called "crumbling" voice that you hear? That's called "aging". And this may come as a huge shock to you, but someday it's going to happen to you, too.
luciano pavarotti one of the greatest tenors of our time there are only a few people here in the philippines that has a taste for the music he makes. in his last performance lip-synched or not isn't he just plain wonderful specially when he pull out the notes of the "nessun dorma" just plain God given talent and charisma. To the great Luciano Pavarotti we will mis u.
Awesome!!!!! At 1:42 he just takes it all in. His expression is great - like he knows it is his last performance and that he is enjoying it to the fullest. WOW. Thank God for the technology to bring this MASTER to the world by internet. Unbelievable human being, really...
Why do people care so much if it was lip synched? Did he not still sing the aria? Who cares whether it was that night or three weeks earlier. Is not all stage performance illusion?
Red: you're right! but again, there are those who attack Pavarotti all times in order to make Domingo better. Probably the same who enjoyed last Britney Spears lip syncing disaster.
At this point he had been just diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, some respect for a legend that, perhaps, had recorded the song three days before the performance but could not sing because it was very cold.....Pavarotti IS OPERA......
If you are someone who knows Pavarotti and his performances, you should be able to tell that this is not live. Just the way he sings it, the faces he makes, etc. Watch another version and see for yourself. Even the orchestra is pre-recorded. You cannot argue something that has actual proof either. On Pavarotti's wikipedia page, it admits that this was recorded weeks earlier, orchestra and all. He was not in such a great condition to be able to totally trust his self at his age and illness Thanks
he is amazing but even if you look at his wikipedia page, the conductor even admits that it was recorded weeks in advance. it is still his voice and it was around the time that he performed it so lip-synced or not, it was wonderful and he will be remembered.
Hearsay. Usually when someone lipsyncs you can tell quite easily. It is more than apparent that he is not lip syncing judging from the breaths he takes, etc.
It is a known fact that this last performance was lip-synched. It was revealed this year:
Leone Magiera, who directed the performance, revealed in his 2008 memoirs, Pavarotti Visto da Vicino, that the performance was prerecorded weeks earlier. "The orchestra pretended to play for the audience, I pretended to conduct and Luciano pretended to sing. The effect was wonderful," he wrote.
you idiot it isn't lip synched. there is an echo in the stadium, you can see his breath coming from his mouth, plus if it was lip synched he wouldn't have those minor tone differences in there.
He has sung this aria many, many times, but each time it is with his heart and soul so that we are all one in this beautiful and majestic experience. Thank God for these lasting treasures of his pure, great voice and spirit. Pavarotti is forever with us all. Come back again.
INIMITABLE, INIGUALABLE...
This is one of my favourite song. The music, the words, the expression & emotion touches every senses. Not to mention about our great Pavarotti, catches every audiences' heart, through the very last note of the music, the applause from the audience is majestic!
I'm always shaking when watching this video. Before his death it wasn't so. Before his death I watched this video with such a pleasure. And now it makes me cry. Because it's so sad to know that he's no longer here and he sings SO fucking good even when he's 70. God, how I love this man! He was, he is and he will be the only one. And the only truly host of the opera ever.
Il Grande Maestro Luciano Pavarotti brings the house down. Rest in peace.
A very painfully emotional Pavarotti in this performance. In my mind, beyond words of gratitude and praise of the distinguished gentleman, I think a great tribute to Pavarotti is to encourage the youth to appreciate the Opera and the Symphony as
there are many Pavarottis in the children.
If we don't, such beautiful voices and music will perish.
There's always a tear in my eye. I keep looking at him, at every move he makes with his large body, coarse and tender face, every sound he makes, and then it hit me - he's perfect in every way! He's perfect no matter how I look at him. Just can't do anything about it, he's perfect!
How can you not fall in love with him and his voice from the very first moment you see and hear him singing? I think you could fall in love with him even if you saw him eating, that's how great he is.
You're singing "at dawn I will win" In fact you passed away at dawn. You life ended but you eternal legend has just begun. You really won Maestro ! Thank you for all you did for our souls.
I remember seeing this live on TV when I was on a school jazz band trip to the Berkeley Jazz Festival in Boston and being speechless with my friends about what we had just witnessed> Maestro, thank you for giving us the gift of your beautiful and unmatched voice and also thank you for sharing your passion for music with us and for showing me the true power of music. May you rest in eternal peace and may choirs of angels welcome you into heaven. RIP Maestro
Yeah, I remember seeing this live on TV too, I was going to my friends party, and then I saw him, I was just stunned and glued to the screen, it was so beautiful.
Thank you, Maestro. Happy Birthday.
Rest in peace. We will remember you always and forever. Your music goes on.
He looked so deeply moved! With everything happening in his world at the time, you can tell he could only focus on the beauty... not just of the moment, but of everything. We miss his physical presence on earth, but this man will never die. Not his spirit. Not the magic that he created. Never.
u know what sharonoiv9, I could care less what your butt and your boobs look like. You sound like a sleezy individual, post your sleezy comments in the porn section. We dont need it in this section honoring the great Pavarotti.
This is the first time I've heard "Nessun Dorma" transposed to C maj. It's incredible to hear Pavarotti singing so beautifully at 71, but just a bit dissappointing to hear an A rather than a B in the last "Vinceró". We'll miss the greatest Italian tenor of all ages.
This was his final public performance of his signature song, Nessun Dorma. At 70 years of age and quite ill, he was only a few months away from the cancer diagnosis that would bring down the curtain on the great Pavarotti. Imagine the emotion he must have felt that night as he stood before that crowd in his beloved Italy and sang that song to the world for the last time. Watch his face around 1:40 as he prepares for the last soaring chorus. Grazie, Pavarotti. Dio ti benedica.
Oh god! i have to say i have never heard before and i am full of emotion...his power...voice...the final scream with the armonic music is priceless...

shimizu1951 1 year ago 2
Pavarotti「
shimizu1951 1 year ago 2
shimizu1951 1 year ago 2

Not my favorite singer, but amazing how he can still sing the notes(perfectly!) when he is seventy years old!

Well, Pavarotti maybe my favorite opera singer, but my favorite singer would be Bruce Dickinson or Ronnie James Dio :)

And I'm returning to this video again. It's so painful that he isn't here anymore.
No, no, sulla tua bocca lo diró
quando la luce splenderá!
Ed il mio bacio sciogliera il silenzio
che ti fa mia!
This is the most beautiful way he has ever sang these words... I adore him so much.

Beautiful.

He looked so deeply moved! With everything happening in his world at the time, you can tell he could only focus on the beauty... not just of the moment, but of everything. We miss his physical presence on earth, but this man will never die. Not his spirit. Not the magic that he created. Never.

I agree. And maybe he will join us again in the future.

Im sorry, but i am not at all dissapointed by any point of this performance, it is all perfect.
God Bless Pavarotti

This was his final public performance of his signature song, Nessun Dorma. At 70 years of age and quite ill, he was only a few months away from the cancer diagnosis that would bring down the curtain on the great Pavarotti. Imagine the emotion he must have felt that night as he stood before that crowd in his beloved Italy and sang that song to the world for the last time. Watch his face around 1:40 as he prepares for the last soaring chorus. Grazie, Pavarotti. Dio ti benedica.
