The new cd's got some badish reviews, but this song sounds good to me, productions seems better than the last one and its a bit heavier. Anyone got the new CD? is it good?
It's album of the year. Every review I've seen has been 8.5 and up, I don't know where people are getting the idea that it's getting bad reviews from. Heaviest shit released all year.

Architects is a metalcore band with some guitar wanking, can't be compared with Converge. Dillinger has got much Converge influence in them. You should check a album like Jane Doe, or better their whole discography, because every one of them is unique, esspecialy with songs like jane doe and worms wil feed.

Metalcore is the 90's rebranding of Grindcore (when Grind had become an unpopular term) which is a mix between metal and hardcore like Brutal Truth or early Napalm Death. Berzerker is (bad) Death metal and Today is the day have tried loads of different genres.

Hardcore isn't about talent, per say. It's about not giving a fuck about anything except integrity. Express your opinion, sure, but don't try to pass off, as fact, that there is no structure in music whose structure escapes you.
Well, classical music (arguable) takes a lot more talent to compose and perform than heavy metal. Does that take away from what the way you feel about it? Probably not. Hardcore is just different. Listen to Between The Buried And Me and say there's no structure. You may not like it, but I guarantee there are few heavy metal bands with as much talent.
It took me a few listens to actually appreciate the album. Though different from some of the past CDs its still a great CD. Though I feel that a few songs are misplaced on the CD and dont fit, mostly the ones with the extra guests.

Are you sure you've listened to all the other Converge albums? They are pretty similar. Concubine was MUCH noisier than this one, and this is still Converge as it is. Either you like them or not.

@dcskater205 Progression is a good thing in music. It shows the artists ability to grow out of what it first became. The Beatles did it on every record. That's why they are legends. The CD isn't perfection, but it's pretty close. It's got the same Converge style but a different flavor. I'm a Thursday fan so I understand not liking the experimenting but through that came Common Existence which i thought was artfully beautiful. I think more good things are coming.

Converge have some of the best live shows. Maybe they shouldn't be doing big tours. They are an underground band and will stay that way. Mastodon is good in their own right but Converge kicks their ass.

I saw them live 11/11/09 in Dallas at METALOCLYPSE. Never heard of them before, but I was impressed. They have a lot of energy. Go see them.

Although Converge is one of my favourite bands, I'm not a fanboy because I defend good music. This is a fast-paced, grinding song. And this requires high skills and of course, talent. I ain't saying "do it better" because I don't know even if you can play an instrument and you are just giving an opinion. But don't go here blaming when you can go and see your fucking Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus in thousands of YouTube videos. Have a nice day.

look up their lyrics for any of their songs and then try to say that they have no purpose. especially the song "last light" they don't just throw random stuff together everything is so laid out. and the whole "disturbing" aspect of it is exactly what they are going for it keeps people who don't like it far far away from it and those who understand and appreciate it are always coming back for more so i guess you saying that means job well done converge.
