The major media DID ignore this incident, I accidentally stumbled upon this tonight, and I've had a few! Forget the BP oil spill, well this is bad too just as bad. The "new south" America's toilet bowl.
wow thats clean coal tech. they said obama wanted to bankruped coal industry, looks like the coal industry will bankruped therselves.THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE CALL ME A FREAK OR WHAT EVER THIS WILL KILL PEOPLE>PEOPLE WILL DIE BECAUSE OF THIS
The anwser is there just by todays standards. We use many forms of non renewable energy so if we convert to other less destructive forms, that harness a naturallly occuring element we won't depend on one renewable source its a combination of it all that may save this planet. Other countries have done it an pretty soon if we don't change our energy sources theres not going to be anything to save b/k it will all have been turned into a toxic wasteland much like this area is destined to become.
This dispells whatever notion there was that a "clean coal" power exsits. You can even look at TVAs website an they claim to be phasing out an "element" in their emmissions to make it "clean" by 2010, but there are other waste byproducts that pose a greater threat should they be exposed to the enviroment this is one of those situations. Is it really worth it to allow this kind of toxic waste to perpetually be produced just for an obseleet form of energy?
This is BS! Its an enviromental disaster 48 times greater than Exxon Valdez. Read a few things about the TVA Plant. For the past two years the Dike that burst had leaking problems like incidents in 06 an 07 "fly ash" ponds are toxic with elements consisting of Aresnic, mercury, an even some radioactive element uranium. Regardless that shit will permiate through all the watersheds in the area an whether they want to cover it now or later alot of people an wildlife are going to die b/k of it
Saw this on CNN and somehow this doesnt surprise me anymore to just see Roane Co in the news I used to live in Midtown by the TVA/Kingston bridge area. Since Ive moved it seems Roane Co always has something going on...including the courthouse shooting
Major media is ignoring this incident and/or playing the damage down b/c of money(as usual).Coal ash has nasty stuff in it.I hope lawyers are being contacted now. This was negligence on the part of the Co. that caused this disaster.

Aiden057 3 years ago 3

Jackmiles2006 3 years ago
its not "mud"
it is coal ash, the stuff left over after they burn coal - it does contain heavy metals so be careful
