  • this guitar riff is so heavy my ears are droppin

  • Sic cover...love it

  • Pam pam - pam pam - pam pam - paravam PAM !

  • @MrV1C7OR Dude, I laughed so hard at this. PARA-VAM PAM!

  • Dontcha love when some arrogant ass comes to a vid on YouTube and tells us all (who obviously like it), that it "sucks"? You wonder what went so wrong in a person's life to think being a know-it-all pompous ass is the way to go. Workatthefarm is one of these sad cases. It would be like me going to a Barry Manilow or a Duran Duran vid and telling all their fans that they suck. Let people like what they wanna like and shut your trap. Live and let live.

  • Wait... The White Stripes recorded something with SubPop? God Almighty.

  • Fucking sucks. Cpt Beefheart is better.

  • @workatthefarm you suck man, thats good stuff ;)

  • @Prodi1989 Shut your UGLY gob, go open your mummy's cabinet, take those nitros and commit suicide.

  • @workatthefarm get life.

  • @Prodi1989 Further proof that Prodi1989 is extremely incompetent at life.

  • @workatthefarm u got nothing better to do?

  • @Prodi1989 Yes, I do. But that is not the topic. Kill yourself.

  • @workatthefarm That's your opinion. Sounds great to me.

  • That guitar tone is glorious.

  • god. the guitar is so frekin heavy <3

  • BEEF !!!

  • is it me or is this song NOT on itunes?

  • @booooooolpusterd This is too rude for itunes

  • @CacklingPomegranate i was gonna vote up on ur comment ut i didn't want to ruin the 33 likes

  • Dude. Holy Fuck.

  • Kudos to the White Stripes... they beat me to it.

  • @csxtrainwreck The Denial Twist is also a white stripes rap

  • Good cover

  • 1 person doesn't do special things at parties

  • This is probably how Beefheart imagined "Party" before the Tragic Band stepped in.

  • @JohnFordDanceTroupe Wasn't the captain aiming for popularity by toning down his music by this point?

  • @JohnFordDanceTroupe If he didn't like what he heard, he'd get a new band.

  • rip captain beefheart

  • Sorry Jack, the original is just better.

  • @AnieSpagoo I'm pretty sure he can agree with you on that. I don't, though

  • @romaletims not a great fan of Beefheart I take it? :)

  • @AnieSpagoo I meant that Jack will probably agree that the beefheart version is better, but that I prefer this one

  • @romaletims I meant that you are not a great fan of Beefheart? :) I love The White Stripes their sound is great and this attempt isn't bad. Just don't think anyone can take on Beefheart at his own game and win. :)

  • @AnieSpagoo I just think this is soooo much cooler =P

  • If you think The White Stripes wrote this amazing song, you're very wrong. It's a beefheart song. Check it out on youtube.

  • @Lpoolboy May he rest in peace :<

  • I like the live version better. The one from the basement and it's a part of blue orchid.

  • which are the heavist songs of the White Stripes?

  • @nirvanalive4ever little cream soda, black math, bone broke, cannon, dead leaves and the dirty ground, catch hell blues (just to get you started)

  • This is basically White Stripes rap :D

    well sort of :P

  • @MrSikzak Handspings and Icky Thump is White Stripes rap

  • @csxtrainwreck

Good point, but this one has a more hiphop'y beat ;)

  • This made my night! Sexiest thing I've heard in forever!

  • i could make love to this song

  • Groovey.

  • This is great

  • That is the heaviest guitar riff i've ever heard in my life. God bless Jack White and The White Stripes.

  • @1zappa And God bless Big Muff Pedals. He didn't even play power chords for this, just notes! Imagine if he did chords.... fuckin Heavy man.

  • not bad

  • I'm not really a big fan of cover versions BUT this one is spot on...

  • <3 this song!!!!

  • wonderful interpretation of Beefheart classic- doesn't try to compete with original- just takes off in a Stripey direction- as usual Jack has the power of a whole band in his playing and singing- not to overlook meg's always powerful driving

  • this sounds like his new stuff with dead weather

  • where can i buy this single....

  • i heart you thomas burnham

  • Saw a copy on on e-bay goin for $245, theres only 1300 copies...

  • You got about $400 bucks cause its a limited record that only a few people have and they sell used for a shit load of money if you can even find one....Only 3 songs on it but I am tempeted to buy it just cause his Beefheart covers are LEGENDARY!!!

  • pr0

  • man, your ears must be up your ass

  • you make a valid point sir.

    However!

I would argue they are both amazing..and the stripes cover le4ts you appreciate another version of a great song.

Maybe not as good as the original, but not too far off in my opinion

  • ...this is better than the original 4 me...obviously is only my point of view...

  • most of there old singles and b sides where impossible to ever find, and there vinyl albums and singles where worth hundres until icky thump got released. and there new record label re-released everything so nothing is worth a dollar anymore, this cd would be impossible to locate as they didnt re-release it. prob a couple copys floating around in detroit

  • your comment sounds SHIT, or did u mean, this sounds the SHIT. cos it sure fucking does!

  • Listen to the live version if you want your face melted.

  • This is actually a really good cover. [Much better than Ashtray Heart, bleh!] Really like it.

  • So good...of course, the White Stripes write brilliant original songs, but they also have truly amazing covers. Take "Jolene"--who knew they could make me love a Dolly Parton song? Incredible.

  • @CacklingPomegranate this one's a cover, too. captain beefheart wrote the original

  • @CacklingPomegranate

Not to mention, they're one of the artists who are able to cover a Bob Dylan song and do it justice.

  • @CacklingPomegranate It was Loretta lynn dumbass

  • @MrBetaproject

no? it wasn't Lorette Lynn. Original song is by Dolly Parton.

  • @MrBetaproject Jack White produced Loretta Lynn's comeback album, Van Lear Rose, which earned her an album of the year award, but "Jolene" is certainly not Loretta Lynn's song.

  • Great cover !

  • this is from there album life on the flipside

  • they never brought out an album named life on the flipside. This was brought out as a single on cd/vinyl.

  • um yes they did...but it wasn't one of their big albums; it was a limited ammount of copies publishment, a collection of B-Sides

  • can you buy it anywhere now?

  • doubtfully. unless u DEEPLY scan ebay. i saw it on amazon.....9 months ago. Its EXTERMELY rare 2 c such rariety on Amazon

  • its a rare

CD not very known to the public they did make a CD out of the singles and what not XD

  • Nice one, i'm doing a scavenger hunt.

  • the album exists but it's a bootleg... the stripes didn't release it. it's not authorized

  • i know but its easier to buy the "album" instead of running around trying to find the bootleg or all the singles

  • awsome is this rare?because ive never heard it before
