im 16, in autoshop in my high school, we were talking about this. So im thinking of going to a junk yard "buy" couple of crushed ev1's and make 1. Also GM fucked them selfs over. Im not a fan of electric cars... but still it would be cool to make old car comeback to life. you can always tweak it and make it look nicer and make it more efficient.

My next electric will be electric only with a small generator in the trunk. I will not own a hybrid, too many gas engine parts to go bad. The Tesla Sedan model only gets about 240 miles per charge you know. I also want to patron an electric car company when I buy my next one. I will not buy from a company that put out the technology then crushed it and kept it from my reach. Tesla, Phoenix, zap, miles, etc. I will buy only from a company that only makes electrics.

I'm afraid that is a matter of opinion, while the Volt may have a more "Classic and Bold" styling, I tend to find cars like the EV1, Honda Insight, and Toyota Prius more attractive. I believe the Insight remains the most aerodynamic production vehicle but the EV1 was better. If you want efficiency at speeds above 40mph then you need low drag. Somehow Chevy came across as surprised when they "discovered" how poorly the Volt did in the wind tunnel. For me sleek is sexy not bold & blunt nosed.

The VOLT is a HOAX. GM had a serial hybrid in 1969, and demonstrated the serial Precept in 1998; if it intended to produce a serial hybrid and not sabotage it, maybe it would not have crushed and suppressed all the EV1, and it would already have produced it. It's been 2 years since GM announced the VOLT hoax.

I spoke to the owner/operator of a salvage yard outside of the bay area, where 10 ev1's were brought late night to the facility. The cars arrived on covered tractor/trailer, and the facility was paid, a VERY large amount of money to dispose of the EV1s THAT NIGHT (2 am-ish) and not let it be seen. GM is a nazi-esque company and needs to be boycotted. I know the EV1 is just a car but the idea that a company would lie their balls off and pretend crushing the EV1s were for our good pisses me off.

Why the incremental steps to the all electric vehicle? Why not all EV's now? (I.E. all gas, to hybrids, to 50% plug-ins, to 90% plug-ins then finely all electric). The current internal combustion engine (IEC) manufacturing plants are not equipped to build electric motors. If the demand for elec motors outstripped the need for ICE then the ICE makers would lose out to the plants built for making elect motors ( they would lose their monopoly).

It was a joke. I like electric. The technology has been around for ages. If the government had put money into battery research we'd have great energy storage devices. But it's not in the government's (Corp's) interest to do so.
