@MissInde2015 I'd say about a year or year and a half because I missed appointments/rescheduled for getting my next set of trays sometimes. After I finished with the trays I got the permanent retainer on the back of my top front and bottom teeth to help prevent my gap from opening back up.

it is possible to do it within a year .. invisalign has a new protocol which makes them move your teeth much faster .. my treatment is only 7.5 months!!

That's the idea behind it, but they are basically clear moldings of what your teeth should look like every two weeks as they close in, until you get to the end where your teeth are straight. Hope that answers what you were asking.

As far as I know it depends on your teeth. To me, my bottom teeth looked straight but the ortho saw imperfections so it will depend on ur doc. Ive run across people online that only had the top but u have to realize that the trays will move your teeth and change your bite pattern so that's why typically people get braces on top and bottom.

@mrsnut You probably already found out, but you cannot get invisalign on only 1 part of your teeth. Invisalign only makes dual arches, and that is good because say you only wanted your top teeth straight.. well if you wear them on your bottom, the top aligners won't be broken easily :) the bottom and top aligners glide against each other

I only had this happen once, where a small piece of the plastic (or whatever its called) from the aligners kinda poked out and irritated my gums. It wasn't a problem though. I ran a clean emory board (finger nail file) across it once or twice and shaved it down. This shouldn't be a problem because when they take impressions or casts of your teeth the measurements are used to make your aligners. They should match the size of your teeth and not bother ur gums. It's minor, don't let that stop u!

As far as I understand it the cost is about the same as regular braces (depending on where u live). They can be uncomfortable as you go from 1 set of aligners 2 the next but I'd guess that its more tolerable than metal braces bcuz after wearing them a few days the ache goes away. Plus there's no tightening of wires or dealing with rubber bands. But if you're whiny and can't tolerate pain to the point u'll be tempted to take them out bcuz you know u can, then get the metal.

At 15 it's an issue of responsibility. At your age most kids have metal braces and u have 3 years before Senior year so traditional wouldn't be too bad. You have to make more of an effort with Invisalign bcuz ur always brushing & flossing WAY more than normal (u almost have to be OCD w/ it) & u have 2 keep up w/ the aligners. I've had to dig a few of mine outta the trash a few times..lol. It's easy to get lazy/careless with them, and u cant decide ur gonna wear them one day and not the next.

Thanks so much for this video, great info. I have already had wire braces twice as a teenager (gag) which made my teeth perfectly straight. However, I had a tooth on my top teeth move back a bit. To me, it's noticable. It's very minor, but I was thinking of invisiline to put it back in it's place. It moved back, because I was a foolish girl when I was young, and didn't wear my reutainer like the ortho told me too! So it's really my own fault, but I am an adult now and I want to make it right.

They are called Vivera Retainers and are from the makers of Invisalign. Yes, they are clear as well and are supposed to be more durable than the aligners. I received information on it with my starter pack but you can also google it.

Wow! IMO, that's a really young age 4Invisalign, so I hope u do well. I say that bcuz it takes a lot of dedication & self-discipline which younger ppl don't usually have. U have to brush & floss after EVERYTHING u eat & u have 2 be able 2 take the pain when changing trays. If you don't stick to it, you're just prolonging your treatment and wasting your parent's money. Yes, "as long as u leave it in, it's okay." That's the whole point of Invisalign. I think about having my braces in as NOT throwing money down the drain. Wear them as much as possible--which should be 19 to 21 hours a day. That means you may have to cut back on what u stick in your mouth. Its hard, but RESIST!! How did u manage 2 not wear your trays 4 a whole week? It seems that you may want to be re-educated regarding patient responsibility. It will help u in the long run.

Well that's good. I recently took mine out, placed them somewhere, and forgot. I looked all night & didnt find them. So I followed what the doctor said and put in the previous set of trays. Turns out I found the lost ones in the morning. But in just that ONE DAY my teeth were sore from going backwards on my treatment. Needless to say, I've become more careful with them.

I'm currently 13 now, and I was thinking about getting Invisalign braces too. is it true that you have to brush after EVERY meal? Beacuase i cant brush in school. And since my bottom teeth are completely straight, how much will it be if i got the braces only for my upper teeth?

I dont really recomment it for younger people because of the discipline that is required with it. U can eat whatever u want with regular braces, but yes, you have to brush AND floss after every meal. Otherwise food is being smashed inbetween your teeth by the aligners and can get underneath your gums. That will only cause more problems. If u go with it, u can carry a travel size toothbrush&paste and quickly brush in the restroom after u eat. Cost: look into Invisalign Express ??

I'm in TX and it's 4000 total. I had 2 pay $1000 before the doc would give AlignTech the OK to make the trays.

Some people need to have it, but my treatment will not require a frenectomy, which is removing the hanging piece of "meat" between the gap. If u will need this just do research on it (google it). Make sure that you HAVE to have it and that your doc isn't just trying to get extra moolah. Never can be too careful.

My ortho's putting a wire behind my teeth when I'm done, with an alligner at night on a decreasing basis. It sounds awful, but I have one on my lower set. It kept them perfect as my ortho said I needed no work on them, I really noticed the wire at first but now I can't even feel it with my tongue. Might be worth metioning :).
