I used to LOVE this when I was a kid. Animal was so friggin funny!!!! I remember this one episode when Nanny came in and introduced Kermit to his new nephew, and it was a tadpole in a bowl. Don't know why, but as a kid, I thought that was so hilarious!
I remember watching the star wars and ghostbuster episode. The death star was a giant tomato and the other was about bicker over coming his fear of the dark. Cant believe i still remember that :)
This was me and my brother's favorite Saturday morning cartoon growing up in the 80s. I use to be mad when I would miss the them song...lol. Brings back childhood memories.
@0070jamesblonde Because if you watch the show..sometimes they imagine the are in certain places and those scenes are from some episodes...wierd but true.
Did anyone ever notice that scooter's sister (Skeeter I think her name was) the one with the red pig tails and glasses was never a real muppet. but her brother (The one who looks like her) was a real muppet.
@Blade5276 Yes. It was done to add another female character to the show. Her personality was meant to balance miss piggy's femine character with a tomboy type character.
Man I remember this!! It was like my fav show ever at the time, and i would always weird my mom out cause i would be sitting on the couch and all of a sudden go the Muppet Babies are on and the tv would be off. And sure enough when she would turn the tv on it would b on and Icouldnt even tell time at that time. Ahh childhood.
I watched this on Saturday mornings. Who remembers when Saturday mornings were loaded with great cartoons?? I wish they would bring them back! Even my mother enjoyed some of them.
@kfplady yeah now what do they got on?..pokemon?... new adventures of care bears,...more crummy cartoons that dont even make sense like sponge bob?...fairy odd parents? at least when we were kids our shows had some kind of moral purpose behind it all. dont get me wrong my 3 yrs old likes sponge bob and i dont have anything wrong with the shows today....wait yeah i do WHERE'S THE EDUCATION?!!! i didnt get to watch a lot of tv growing up but when i got the chance to!!!
care bears taught me how to be kind to others and not to be mean, muppet babies fraggle rock and sesame street taught me how to count use my imagination, read make friends and have fun being a kid. now the shows on tv have no moral no story line just stupidness, even heman & shera had a moral or lesson at the end.and it was a show.. .somewhat..lol violent :P i loved it bring them back 1980s!..., smurffs, my pet monster, the snorks, the smoggies! the list goes on bring them back :P
these posts are from munchkin6910 not from mega burgin :P just thought i would clear that up now..lol.. dont have an account :S should get my own lmao, this is my step sons account :D keep up the good works with all that u do and always BE POSITIVE!! in everything that u do, dont worrie about what other pple have to say/think just do what makes u happy and be all that u can be we only live once so LIVE IT UP!!!
@MegaBurgin i totally agree i hate letting my kid watch these new stupidifying cartoons that have absolutely no value whatsoever. i love when i can watch my old 80's faves with him an he likes them much better than the new junk. long live childhood :)
Awwwwwww!!! I miss my childhood! :) This was one of my favorite cartoons on Saturday morning! Never missed it. Always loved playing make-believe. If only I had time machine.
Wow! My grandmother knew this was my favorite show and when she watched me while my mother was at work, she made my favorite snack, PB&J, cut it into four squares and brought it to me as the opening credits played, and I at my sandwich as I watched my favorite show, I'm almost in tears as I miss those days. I'm 27 now and boy does time fly by.
i love how this is a kids show where they would always make refernces to movies that lil kids probaly shouldn't be watching like ghost buster and alien but still a very amazing show
The thought process is a scary thing indeed. First, I was thinking about wrestling. Then, I was thinking about a specific wrestler, Mick Foley, and how he was once called a "Human Muppet". And now here I am.
I always wanted to see the bitches' face with the green socks, just like that neighbor dude behind the fence on that tim taylor home improvement show, ya im high as fuck right now and i dont know why this popped in my head....
How come the nanny never showed her face? I always wondered why she didn't show her face when i watched it all of those times as a kid back then. LOL They'd shot the muppet babies, but not the nanny's face....that was odd. And oh yeah, the Muppet Babies NEDAY over Spongebob or the other wanna-be-cool cartoons of now days. The 80's were great for the Best ever cartoons back then! I had a Shirt Tales lunchbox back in preschool in the early 80's. =)
@angeljrt15 I think that's a clip from the Ghostbusters movie... the character (can't remember his name, says "miii-mii" all the time) uses some kind of raygun and he nearly hits Slimer with the ray.
@JokersWild86 Found it now. At least in Ghostbusters it was called Proton pack. Couldn't remember it when I wrote my first comment ;) Not sure if it's the same in Muppet Babies, I never really followed the show.
damn muppet babies went off the wall with their shit.... fighting gladiators, flying in space? being pirates? mad scientists? AND THEY HAD A ROCK BAND? Fuck man, THIS IS THE LIFE ALL OF US EXPECTED TO HAVE WHEN WE WERE KIDS. Too bad reality BIT US ON THE ASS.
what the heck happend to rly good cartoons like this?! now we stuck with crap like hannah montana tht reduces the human brain to mush.. instead of stimulating it ... i feel soooo bad for kids nowadays =.=
@silentbob8201 Oh those are all definitely weird, but it's just odd to me that they would show a clip from Ghostbusters, without any Muppet Babies in it, in the opening titles.
Like Walt before him, Jim was one of a select few of people who clicked with every audience. Like Baum with Oz, Disney with his cartooning, Shulz with the aubiographical "peanut" that was his life, Jim's mastery of puppetry allowed him to branch out into other fields and become a cultural icon.
wow the people that are 24 plus can really appriciate these kind of shows.. its our past and hopefully we can share them with our kids... This has really taken me back to when I was a little kid, tromping around with all the other little kids and watching cartoons till the host would tell us it was time to eat. Man I miss the 80's and 90's cartoons... this sucks...
i am 21 and I can honestly say as much as I love a FEW shows that are around now..Pretty much kids shows were the best around 14 yrs or more ago. What are kids watching now? Dora and Hannah Montana. I miss the days of Richard Scary, Bear in the big blue house, Arthur, rupers, Out of the box, Dexter's Laboratory, Powerpuff girls...Or shoot even the classics like bugs bunny. I really feel bad for kids these days.
Ahhh it's been years since I watched the MB's I just sat here and sang the whole thing word for word lol. I wish our kids could be able to see good quality cartoons like this nowadays. I'm glad I was a kid of the 80s!!!!!
I used to rent the tapes from blockbuster. It's so much better than all that shit we get on tv now. It's horrible for kids. If I had to chose a good role model for kids between Hannah Montana and Satan, I would choose Satan. Hannah Montana is worse than Satan. All of those shows nowadays are. I never got to grow up with these because I was born in the 90s. I really wish I could have.
THEY NEED TO BRING THIS BACK ON TV! YES, I AM 32 AND I WILL PLOP MY ASS RIGHt IN FRONT OF THE TV AND WATCH THIS! LOL!!
