Stalin wanted Hitler to conquer europe with his military and resources(destroy french,english armies,etc) and then invade whole europe as a liberator,if Hitler didn't invade Soviet union whole europe(at least) would be communist today.

despite hitler being an asshole,the most credible theory is that barbarosa was a defensive strike,Stalin was preparing an invasion of europe as a "liberator" of nazi occupation,all his army was set for offensive,that is very well documented,that's also why Stalin gave all resources Hitler needed from fuel to any raw materials,Soviet Union made a trap on Germany,half Poland for each,but only Germany declared war and Germany was seen as agressor.
Communism is much more expansionist than nazism.
