@roger7psa You mean it's 'not' Wolfgang Von Trips..but Lorenzo Bandini..who was unfortunately killed during the Monaco Grand Prix 1967 ?? The last part of your post does not appear to make any sense ('von trips of Lorenzo Bandini, big mistake!')..I take it English maybe isn't your first language ? Anyway it's Bandini (RIP)
Great Video¡¡¡, it is so touching, and by the way, someone knows what as been maked with a videothat was a tribue similar to that, , but with the songs "our farewell" by within temptation, an another of evanescence?
Thanks to those, who risk life and limb in every Race to entertain us with fantastic moments of motorsport - and it does'nt metter who win's or looses, every hurt driver is one too many
pat o'connor was my parent's neighbor two doors down from them in north vernon, indiana in the mid 1950's........they attended the race in 1958 after they had moved from north vernon the previous year to root for him, only to see him killed that day......my father still talks of o'connor and his kindness, even after over 50 years later..........RIP
crazy risk. I started racing touring cars only recently. good thing there is no where near the risk of before, even in F1. These drivers must be pretty brave and crazy to do what they did. It was as risky as being a fighter pilot in WW2
@AccordGTR Be Careful !! Even as safe as they are today, there is still great potential for injury and death because of instant deacceleration if you hit another car or a barrior. The body cannot take more than 25 g and a car going into a barrior straight on at over 200mph is far more g than a person can survive. It is possible for suspension parts to enter the cockpit[Senna] Fire is still possible. Never think racing is failsafe !!
@dbrinkm1 Sure, accidents do happen. That's why we follow the the safety rules. Check out HANS website where they claim an Indy driver hit the wall at 200mph and registered over 100G's and walked away with no major injuries. I have gotten into 3 major crashes myself and my HANS and rollcage saved me from any whiplash or injury.
At 3:16 the bottom picyure is not Wolfgang Von Trips. Its actually Lorenzo Bandini's crash at Monaco. Von Trips was thrown from his car. Other than that this is a great tribute. Good job.
Nice tribute, but you left out the greatest driver of all time. Jim Clark. Killed at Hockenheim on 4/7/68. Also, that's a picture of Graham Hill in a 1968 Lotus 49 in your Bandini slide, not Lorenzo.
lorenzo's was worst. hit a pile of hay i beleive and turned into flames. also Jim clark was a pretty good driver, but he also accidently killed Wolfgang von trips, great German driver. and Jochen Rindt was a good driver to the best drivers to me are.
Nonsense... Clark did not kill Von Trips. Von Trips killed Von Trips after he turned into Clark. Clark was cleared after a lengthy investigation triggered by a bunch of rabid Italians trying to find someone to blame for all the fans which were killed. Gordon Smiley??? He was always known for taking unnecessary risks... and it unfortunately caught up with him. My list would look very different than yours, headed by Clark. The most difficult accident for me to watch is Swede Savage at Indy..
yea i know about how they "said" von trips turned into Jim but i still think they collided by accident as it was either a tire failure or he accidently skid into Clark. about Gordon Smiley. You are right, however i like people who take some risk not to much. you are right thought. he smashed into the wall at around 200(kmph) and then his body was exposed. i still like him =)
Nice tribute. Correction on the Stuart Lewis-Evans incident, however: The race was held on October 19 -- not September 19. The crash image shown there is not Evans, nor the Ain-Diab circuit. That is Hans Hermann's crash at the AVUS circuit in 1959 (from which he walked away, having luckily been dumped harmlessly onto the ground on the first roll).
where is the legend Jim Clark P.S i know he didn't die in f1 but died in f2 at hockeneim

If you consider also the drivers died in other events you have to include also Jim Clark, died in german gp of F2 in HOckenheimring in 1968.
