Troyster - thanks! I hesitated to drive to Greenfield for the same reason - coming back at night is a nightmare! But, the last two times, I went via the Mass Pike, and though it took two hours from Albany, it was a very smooth, safe and un-scary ride. If you're on Facebook, I moderate a group called We Love to Dance in Albany and I might periodically organize carpools to Greenfield via that page.
Wow - nice video! I only went to the Greenfield dance once, August 2007, mostly because driving out Route 2 east of North Adams scared the crap out of me. But this has convinced me to make a return trip at some point before the snow flies.
This is also a good vid to use to show people what contra dance is like who have never tried it before.
Oh, great - thanks!

(The first dance sequence is "Sleepless at Pinewoods" by Bob Isaacs, the third is "Steel Anniversary Reel" by Rick Mohr.)
