@HordeFTW111 what does that mean? First, this isn't Tae Kwon Do (thank God, since 99% of it is awful). Second, only a real racist assumes that Koreans are the only experts.
@HordeFTW111 And another great comment. What does that even mean? Fake racist? Do you even know? Are you able to make a point? Please try. It's fun to watch.
We have a one-step very similar to one that you taught the young lady in the vid. In ours after the block it's a right punch to the face, followed by a left punch to the solar plexus, and finishing up with a right ridgehand to the side of the neck.
@ricktsdmdk I don’t study American Tang Soo Do under anyone anymore. Since 2006, when my original instructor retired (hip problems), I’ve been on my own, teaching once in a while at different places, and training with a small group of other black belts, who don’t have schools either. Basically just a sparring club, occasionally we will do forms, one-steps, self-defense tech., etc. As for my original instructor, he's a Chuck Norris black belt from Norris' old NTC organization back in the 1970’s.
@barrettokarate I see! Well, keep studying, doesn't matter the style or organization, it is always important to learn. If I can be of any help at all, emaill me! And good luck!
I hate the fourth one you do as you are giving your back to your opponent. If the first elbow strike does not do any damage, you are basically setting yourself up for a choke when you spin around to do the back elbow...Very dangerous!!!
Simple, classic, easy to use, easy to follow & will really work in a crisis situation. Thanks.

Cool vid. I'm a 3rd Dan (of 10 yrs) teaching my girlfriend some basics, glad to see I started her at a good pace.

Well, any move you do in close sets you up for a counter move of some sort.
If you properly block the arm and do the elbows with proper force, there is no chance for a choke.
