  • Ween's "Where'd the Cheese Go" should be playing in the background.

  • I love them all!!! I actually got to see them all in concert, Ringo @ Radio City for his 70th birthday (when Paul McCartney showed up!!!!!) and the Monkees (excluding Mike) on their 45th anniversary tour @ the Beacon ;)

  • I LOVE IT!!

  • I forgot about this commercial, it was shot in Vancouver, BC because Ringo could only work so many days in the US-something to do with taxes. Mike agreed to do it but wasn't included because of schedule conflicts. Ringo did not eat the pizza, his contract stipulated that because he is a vegan. Ringo got a very nice day rate, as a bonus he was very professional and fun as were the other "lads".

  • wtf!

  • 'wrong lads' ... i love ringo.. hes so moody in interviews.

  • That was just compelely unnecessary x) <3 but i still loved it

  • love it!

  • If Ringo merged with the Monkees back then, that would be awesome!

  • lousy pizza

  • i sort of wish i had never seen this.

  • damn, I'm so hungry, I don't know why I watched this, now it's worse

  • i like it.

  • interesting - just like Fatty Prescott, they have more money than they need and still degrade themselves

  • notice ringo does not eat the pizza, guess he knows something we dont

  • @DRUMMERMAN77 hes vegetarian cuz he has stomac problems

  • "Wrong lads." LOLLLL!

  • ;p I havent seen this ad in ages thanks for sharing this

  • Mike went to Dominoes.

  • I remember this commercial. It's cool and Ringo and the Monkees had class.

  • I guess Ringo needed a little money.

  • This video is funny to me because my dad met every Beatle except for John, and I just met Peter Tork last week at a Record Store.

  • *sobs* WHERES MIKE WHERE HE DOESNT GET PIZZA WTH NOOO *sobs* o_O do u think im over reacting XD

  • I remember seeing this when it first aired and yelling "Not Ringo! Mike! Where's Mike?" It was cute then, it's cute now.

    Thanks for posting.

  • Between the above commercial and the below comments, this is EASILY the best YouTube page on the site.

  • I just have to say this...

I don't ask for much, I only want CRUSTS and you know they now come cheesy...

  • Never saw this. Awesome commercial !! Thanks for uploading!!

  • Mike gets nothing :(

  • that was weird, scary, and epicly AWESOME, all at the same time.

  • @starlessons Anybody who needs the commercial explained to them, is too stupid to be on the internet.

  • cute.

  • that is the sickest thing i have ever seen HAHAHA. i love the beatles and i love the monkees!! buahahahahahaha!!

  • @starlessons Ringo was trying to convince the other 3 lads to join him, meaning John, Paul, and George (who were the other 3 Beatles), but instead, 3 of the Monkees show up. That's why Ringo says at the end of the ad, "Wrong lads." Thus the reason for the song, "Hey, Hey, We're the Monkees."

  • I LOVE pizza!

  • @starlessons Because The Monkees appear at the end of the ad (well three of them anyways).

  • Cool commerical!!!!!!!

  • i like how he said "crust first"

  • I remember this!

  • pizza hut tastes so bad nowadys, i remember it was good back in the 70's

  • Mike Nesmith was like, "Sorry. I still have some dignity left."

  • And Micky would say, "Dignity? Since when did we ever have dignity?"

  • I'm glad he got the wrong lads. WHOOT MICKY!

  • Amusing video, but glad Ringo didn't take up acting seriously!

  • But Ringo did take up acting seriously. Has no one seen 'Caveman'?

  • @sTeVie4TV No - maybe that's why I made my comment. Wasn't he also in the film, 'The Magic Christiain'?

  • @ann2shoes yes with Peter Sellers. His best role was in That'll Be The Day with David Essex. Mind he's always Ringo isn't he.

  • that was hilarious ! no a good movie mind you , but very camp. !!

  • LOL! :D

  • I remember when this came out like in 1995!

  • @burtw68 Yes, so glad he still has his Scouse accent. He just got lucky, as he himself has said.

  • yeah I know ,I meant when the the other beatles were still alive...everyone knows back then you couldnt get the Beatles to gt back together ....especialy lennon..but thats not the point ...the pint is this commercial is funny..otherwise who else would Ringo be talkin bout...what other lads would he be trying t get back together if he's not talking bout The Beatles....

  • Is this pure irony or just pure genius..?

  • Beatles with an A....Monkees with an E

  • I love this commercial...Ringo is the only one willing to get back together wit the Beatles and and Mike is the only one who isnt willing to get back with the Monkees.......

  • Ringo being the only Beatle to get back with....err would that be Paul? He's the only one left if I remember ?

  • ringo is still around

  • Actually George was still alive when this commercial was made.

  • Oh, that's cute. I don't think I"ve ever seen this one before, but I like it.

  • Cool man

  • Love this! Saw it for the first time today.

  • LOL... "Crust first!"

  • I wonder why they did Ringo instead of Mike.

  • Well, Ringo was part of the Beatles, which was better known than the Monkees. I wish they had Mike there.

  • Mike was supposed to go to his daughters wedding when this was being filmed, but he didn't go to that either...sad

  • LOL! This Is So Funny I Added 2 Favorites! LOL XD

  • The Beatles were NASA and the Monkees were Star Trek ;)

  • i love the monkees to death, but i think that was cute. Star Trek, love it!

  • makes me hungry :)

  • awesome commercial two of the biggest pop/rock bands of their time...

  • 0:27 "Wrong lads." the only thing Ringo said about the Monkees.

John told "Nayuz:" "I think you're the greatest comic talent since the Marx Brothers."

Paul said: "I think the Monkees are going to live up to things they didn't expect in the Sixties."

And George said, "The Monkees are still trying to find out who they are. When they get it all sorted out, they might turn out to be the best."

  • It's just all kinds of wrong. But hilarious!

  • hahaha what the hell! i've never seen this ever. whenever i hear ringo speak i can't help but think of "thomas the tank engine" when he used to narrate the stories. love it!

  • shut up

  • layoff ringo.

  • I didn't even recognize him!

  • Beatles should have got together on Occasion like Simmon and Garfunkle .

The musical loss of their seperation is tragic.

  • ...

Half of them are dead, darling.

    And it's Simon and Garfunkel.

  • Yes.

I am aware of who is dead.

    Thank you.

  • love Peter!

  • Peter is so wonderful!XD Great guy!

  • OH MAN I remember this commercial!! LOVED IT!!!

  • when did this come out?

  • 80s it was up against the little ceasars ad

    campaign

  • 1995

  • LOL I still remember this... dunno f i saw it when it came out or not... but i do know i loved it lol.

Ringo's "wrong lad's and Micky's shrug to that is just wonderful

  • I love Ringo's "Wrong lads."

  • right on, the Ringmonkees!

  • Lol, Classic

  • They had the same agent at the time,David Fishof.

  • I wonder why Michael wasn't in this one?

  • He was the hold out at the time. Didn't want to play or do the tour. Maybe he just couldn't find his hat.

  • Ha.

  • Hey, hey, we're the monkees, and people say we monkey around, but we're too busy singing to put anybody down! I loved the monkees! ^_^

  • Oh man I forgot about that one! Hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • HAHAHA this is great I love both of these bands!

  • i am so ordering from pizza hut from now on

  • What other lads would he mean? He would have fit in with the Monkees quite well back in the sixties.

  • i just had a thought...

theres 3 monkees and 1 beatle. think about really think about. lol

I LOVE THE MONKEES AND THE BEATLES!!!! :D

  • LOL THATS GREAT!

  • great ad/

  • GREATEST COMMERCIAL EVER!

  • i dont get it...3 monkees and a beatle....what could they not get Nesmith on this so they said "ah fuck it we will just throw in another dude from a 60s rock band, no one will no the difference". Makes no sense...

  • You dont get it??? You have got to be kidding are you THAT dense?

  • Hey Dim Sun. The clue is at the end of the commercial when Ringo says ''wrong lads''. He was expecting Paul John & George. And at the start of the comercial Everybody is supposed to think that Ringo is talking about The Beatles re forming. Get it now?

  • Didnt Nesmith mother invent white out?She died and left him every thing before they where to go on tour?I know he sat one out.

  • Michael's rich, and doesn't have to. He always thought The Monkees weren't taken seriously enough, anyway. You'd think that Ringo's rolling in money too. Does he really need to do commercials!?

  • As far as the question of "ringos" money. Remember...he only wrote a few songs in the beatles days....he did not have the "publishing" cash machine that Lennon/ McCartney & Harrison did. In the old Apple Record days I heard it said a few times he was always begging for cash advances on his salary. Drummers of any band are seldom wealthy, unless they are writing hit songs. Don't get me wrong....he probably has at least 10 million bucks....but by "beatles standards" he is broke

  • I love how there's a guy wearing a wool hat. Must be a idden tribute to the missing (from this commercial) Monkee Mike Nesmith.

  • ....

  • DAVY is my grandad. ;)

  • Why is Michael Nesmith such a PRIMADONNA Anti Monkee?I mean I really appreciate his talents and a Monkee Reunion would be nice. Why is he so hateful?

  • because his mom invented liquid paper, and when she passed he inherted the millions since he was her only child, and with his millions he can do whatever he wants including starting his own band. I like to see him with the others as well, but fussing over it isn't gonna make him join them. I just enjoy the others, and thankfully Davy and Micky both have huge personalities, even if Mike was there you probley wouldn't notice him anyways. Love Micky, Davy, and Peter <3

  • "....wrong ladds!" Love that!!

  • I love this commercial ^_^

  • What dead man? All 4 of them are still alive in 2008.

It was a silly commercial. Jealous? :-P

  • HEY HEY were the Monkees and people say we monkey around, but were to busy singin' to put anybody down..

    Man, love the Monkees :-)

So when was this commercial made?

  • This would have been a better commercial with all four original Monkees, instead. This commercial was done in the early 90's. At the time, Ringo made a small stink about being a vegetarian and refused to eat the PH pizza. Notice at the end of commercial Ringo pretends to take a bite of the pizza.

  • For what it's worth Peter is a vegetarian too (and doesn't eat tomatoes!) but he did the commercial anyway because of the chance to work with Ringo. Can you blame him? LOL

  • Yaay!!!

  • You think Ringo Starr is a cheap celebrity? Jesus, what are you, five years old?

  • This is depressing...

  • SquirrelInMyShorts is actually a fat, spotty little female troll from America who got her ass busted on other chatboards for pretending to be a grown man! Shocking!

  • that was not funny at all. not in the slightest.

  • How did you get the squirrel in your shorts anyway? Did your lover shove it up your ass, only to find it crawled back out a half-hour later?

  • Your very stupid that wasn't even funny at all.

  • He was referring to John, Paul, & George. The "wrong lads" were Micky, Peter, & Davey.

It would have been cool if Pizza Hut done the commercial with The Monkees--including Mike--instead.

  • Why Did he say "Wrong Lads?"

  • YAY! FUN.

  • Ringo you sold out!

  • ok thats dum

  • That's a lie. Don't believe what you read. I ate the whole fucking lot then I had six free ones to take home and I ate them as well.

  • Didn't this commercial came out either early or mid 90's???

Man! I remember Pizza Hut prices were relatively inexpensive...For that time.

TIDBIT: There was an interview with Ringo Starr about doing the Pizza Hut commercial...He ALMOST didn't do it because of his "vegan" beliefs (which included not wanting to sample a bite from the pizza)...Notice, Ringo doesn't open his mouth to pretend to eat a slice of the pizza.

  • now it would be more like only $99.99 with all the financial problems america is having.

  • In the States? The things that are being a real financial ass over here right now is gas and insurance and stuff like that.

Products, however, are pretty cheap at the moment.

Where I live, you can still buy pizza for 10$, [with the exception of Pizza Hut, anyway] plenty of times even less.

"Financial problems" certainly don't relate to the prices of things like food, not in this case.

  • I love Ringo's low-key self deprecating humor...clever ad.

  • ONLY $9.99!! YEAH!!!

  • WHERE DID THEY COME FROM?!

    ROFL.

  • I did not know that.Sounds really weird.You have my sympathy.Best wishes

  • Great commerical....I wish someone could find the commerical with Ringo and his daughter Lee

in a car. Ringo was being chased by screaming ladies in their '50s.

  • Mike's mother invented liquid paper and she sold it to 3M. He was too wealthy to waste time touring.

  • Can't live off his momma forever.

  • What were the names of all the monkees?

I thought there were four? why three and ringo, did one of them die?

  • there was micky dolenz, davy jones, peter tork and mike nesmith. i think after the series mike didn't really want anything to do with the monkees (i'm not sure though). no, he didn't die lol.

  • Nesmith saw the Monkees as a silly pop-type band, and he was a serious musician. He had several solo records in the 70s which were critically well-recieved.

  • Nesmith saw the Monkees as silly? How could he get that impression, especially after they led all those civil rights marches with MLK and helped to stop the war?

  • Don't order the lizard shit pizza then.Try the meat lovers.LOL

  • It's a different thing over here...

They don't do pizza as what is advertised.

Come over here and you will know what I mean.

  • over where? nerd...

  • JERK...

  • aww...Ringo is so cute! :D

  • Ringo, Micky, Davy & Peter. What a very cool combination!

  • I'd order that combo...it already has extra cheese!! Love it!!!

  • yeah, 2 drummers (Dolenz & Starr) would be cool. Kinda like 38 Special...

  • Or The Grateful Dead or The Allman Brothers Band or The Doobie Brothers or Pink Floyd (post-Waters) or George Harrison's Concert For Bangladesh (which had Ringo) or John Lennon's Live in New York

  • I really wish I worked for the Pizza Hut producion crew when this was made . . .

  • Hey lads, I want to eat pizza with you!

  • I wonder who really ate the Monkees' pizza for them.

  • I'm so glad Mike wasn't in this. Way to keep it real, Nez!

  • That was cool! One Beatle and 3 Monkeys!

  • I haven't seen this commercial before. Is it still on?

  • This commercial is more than 10 years old. So, no, it's not still on. Maybe closer to 20.

It was done in the mid-late 1980s, at a time when people STILL wanted a Beatles reunion and at a time when the Monkees WERE re-uniting.

  • Oh that sounds cool! It's too bad they don't show it on retro TV channels like TV Land.

  • I dont think its that old. I could be wrong, but I remember seeing it on tv. And if had been done in the 80s the guys wouldnt have looked as old. They look older from when they were on Boy Meets World. And that was in the 90s

  • It was late when I typed original comment, so I made an slight error.

The commercial is, I believe, from 1995. So certainly more than 10 years old (as I said) but not closer to 20.

    But it is so
