I'm sure that there is a fine distinction between spoilers and non-spoiler tips.

Spoilers I think would be things that reveal key events to advance in the game, hidden objects, etc.

Non-spoilers on the other hand, would be things that are bland obvious in the gameplay like explaining stuff in the option screen, or game* mechanism. Such as telling raocow that getting hit by spikes injures, each area has a name, monsters bite, you're an egg.

I'll say. I play a game just for the plots and twists (and if the game is diverse in its own way, I may play it again.) Just spoiling one part of the story can knock me off the game and render me not able to play (cause I now know what's gonna happen.) I only spoil myself intentionally if I get stuck, because I have to look in guides with the most info overall.

I do hate that spoilers were ruining the blindness of it. I'm playing ahead (or however you can be ahead in such a non-linear explorer game) of raocow, and doing it blind is a large part of the fun. Finding some obscure heart gives me a sense of accomplishment. Plus, it's fun to see how long it takes raocow to find. xD

Plus, I don't comment on the videos so much anymore. Since the launch of the site I've used the forums and, as of late, the IRC more than anything. =D

I guess I can't argue this, because of the type of game. Figuring out where to go/what to do is basically the whole point of this game.

However, I hope this isn't a permanent decision (i.e. disabling comments on all blind runs), and you strongly consider the type of game. There are games that you can play blind and not have any real spoilers (I.e. Super Marisa World), and I still think that disabling comments altogether will really hurt your community in the long term.

The problem is that even if there's only 1 out of 100 people who like to spoil games then there will be comments like that. And if 95 out of 100 people don't comment at all then 1 out of 5 comments spoil and it will seem like a lot of fans like to spoil.

I think it's a good decision to disable comments. There's still the forum with moderators to discuss things.

It's really all for the best. Sure, raocow wasn't really clear on it being a blind run, but with blind runs it's kind of hard to be clear on what exactly would be a spoiler to the whole userbase. Anyone who has watched kkosers lp of Zelda knows that there are people who thinks that just about everything is a "helpful hint", and there is always the risc of someone spoiling things just to be a jerk. ...so disabling comments is the only way to go.

He mentions that it's a blind run in the description, which could just mean that he's never played it before. Still, looking at LordVegas blind SH3 run, he wrote "blind" in the title, talked about how serious spoiling things were in every other video, and his viewers STILL spoiled major things for him.
