@joepoodirt the theme is to appreciate your life. jigsaw wants both Gordon and Adam to saw their foot off. when Gordon cuts his foot off he says he will go get help to save Adam. he does find help in the third movie which is jigsaws apprentice Amanda who kills Adam.
I've never understood why at the end of the movie when Gordan is trying to reach the cellphone he cuts his leg. Why didn't he just take his shirt off and use that as a way to reach the phone.
I dont remember if he tried to use the saw, but that would probably have worked too.

well how would you rate the series? 2 was sucked, 3 was too preachy, 5 was too cluttered, and i thought that 6 was great and felt like the first one almost and was made really well. And we finally get to see the reverse bear trap in action(almost). I think it would have been awesome if the bear trap actually went off so the series could end while being awesome at the same time

Saw was a good movie...but, there was really no reason to make the sequels. Saw had a deep meaning, and they just carry that same meaning on in the sequels, so, the sequels was really just to earn more money, and extra blood and gore.
It's because for every mistke he found, he found an explaination, for example the wooden box moving from one side of the guy to the other was caused by poltergeist. He can claim all of these mistakes were done on purpose to show, for example, that there were poltergeist in the movie and the director wanted you to know this so he did it on purpose. This means they were not mistakes.

like, why did the supposed Jigsaw, if he was just a pawn of the real Jigsaw, act like he was enjoying scaring the guy's wife and kid? listening to their heartbeat and shit. just seemed like a cheap trick to make the ending more surprising. and there was no logical reason for him to play dead on the floor either.
