Many times I was thinking to sale this on garage sale but I didn't...so I think I should sale on eBay soon!

  • @BHFanaticoSiljak I would keep all those classics if I were you.

  • This game became shooter of the legend in Japan used game market.

  • Man, this would be a great one for release on Wii Virtual Console, but it's doubtful it will ever happen since it's publisher Quest is out of business now. :(

  • looks like A cotton ripoff !

  • Magical Chase will chase your wallet and magically dissapear everything inside.

  • looks like a GBA game in music and style

  • I need Magical Chase to complete my US hu card collection... Any change anyone has a copy for sale? :)

  • it's cotton!

  • Ill buy it off you for 150

  • @joshuarayborn Worst deal ever. The games worth like $1k. -_-

  • Holy crap, It's Marisa..

  • You stole that right out of my mouth :P

  • A Very impressive game for the PCe/Turbografx-16, using almost every trick available.

    - Palette changes per scanline (horizon level 1)

    - Second layer using sprites (level 1,3)

    - Second layer using "Character scrolling" (Level 4)

    - Sliced layers using interupts/scroll registers (all levels)

  • I bought an issue of GamePro magazine back in 1993 and saw this game advertised in it. I still have that magazine after all those years.

  • This is the TurboGrafx-16 version. I don't own the PC Engine version yet though and record videos of it using a flash card.

  • I believe there's some misunderstanding. What I meant to ask was if you have a US version of Magical Chase for both TurboGrafx-16 and TurboDuo.

  • Yes, its the game in this video. I bought it new back in the day.

  • Wait...so Magical Chase was for the TurboDuo and not for the TurboGrafx-16 (I kinda consider them two different systems)? But what about for the fact that this was recorded from "the rarer TurboDuo version?" You mean to say that it was rarer than the PC Engine version?

  • The Turbo Duo and TurboGrafx-16 are the same U.S. hardware. Just like the Genesis and CDX.

The games were released simply as U.S. releases and only one english version exists of any given title.

The U.S. version of Magical Chase is far more rare than the PC Engine version. I'm not even sure that the PCE version is really that rare since its always available on eBay.

But the U.S. version is hard to find for sale at all, at any price.

  • Oh, I see, but I think you meant to say "CD or 32X." Thanks for explaining and sorry if I annoyed you. I'm just starting to explore the TurboGrafx-16 world.

  • The Sega CDX is an all-in-one system (like the Turbo Duo) which contains a Genesis + Sega-CD.

Its the size of a discman and can be used as one with AA batteries.

  • Really? I never even knew those existed...unless that's it's called when a Genesis and Sega CD are together...

  • Do you still have your copy of the game? MAGICAL CHASE is the rarest Hu Card in the TG-16 library. I remember seeing it at EB Games (called "Electronics Boutique" at the time) and passing it up. I guess I was more into my SNES by then. Boy, was THAT a mistake.

  • Yeah, this was recorded using the original game I bought new back in the day for $5.

  • The TurboDuo version looks very nice! Do you have the TurboGrafx-16 version as well? And about the graphical overhaul business...you could be right, but it could also be to make it more marketable/understandable for the American gamers.

  • I wonder why the first level was changed for the US version..

  • To me, it's an improvement. Perhaps this is what Quest had in mind for the original, but never got to implement it in time.

Jack's floating shop sprite has also been changed/improved, again in my opinion for the better.

As soon as I have the time to do it, I'll put up a split screen comparison highlighting any differences that I can find between the two versions.

I'm not sure yet, but the TTI version may be more dificult as well.
