  • What about Michael Gough? (The Celestial Toymaker)

  • @1rhpsfan Video Description: "a roll of honour for those Doctors and Companions who no longer travel amongst us". The Celestial Toymaker was not a Doctor or a companion. That's why he (and a hundred other actors) aren't there.

  • what about the guy that played the delaks

  • @CrusherX1000 This was only about doctors and companions

  • It was absolutely gutting to be reminded of all the great people we've lost. Very nicely done video.

  • Rest in Peace - all of them. They all bought so much happiness and enjoyment to so many people and they will live on through that. Elisabeth Sladen was a beautiful woman - in every way. I dont think that Michael Craze gets the recognition he deserves. He was amazing and in my opinion he will always be one of the best companions.

  • Though Roy Castle, and Peter Cushing were not part of the BBC's Doctor Who, they were part of Doctor Who's history. So its great to see them included.

  • Another really beautiful piece of work. Very moving.

  • In Memoriam--beautiful and well-done.

  • Jacqueline Hill as Barbara was one of the most naturalistic and beautiful performances the show has ever seen. So many of the truly great companions are gone now. Let's hope 2012 brings us whovians more good times than bad.

  • Lovely video! actors though are people, and people, as do Timelords, walk in eternity. They and we all live on in a world beyond time!

  • Brigadier :(

  • there is only one word to describe you Babel C - "star"! Simple but moving tribute. I started crying when Sarah Jane appeared. Liz Sladen was "my" companion in the 70s, when I first saw Dr Who in the early 70s.

  • Beautiful. I was seriously tearing up.

  • Thanks. Great and simple tribute to those that are now gone to another adventure of thier own. They will live on in our hearts and minds and also as long as Doctor Who is on the air!

  • simple yet sincere and beautifully done....may there be many years passed before this video is updated with any more names.

  • Splendid fellows, all of you :)

  • I teared up for Nicholas Courtney and Elizabeth Sladen.

  • Wonderful chaps everyone of them may they be remembered for the future in times to come may they be remembered for generations to come

  • Wow...just....Wow... BabelColour finds the best music and ways to pay tribute to a worthy series. I was sad to see Michael Craze had died so young, most of the others I knew about.

  • It's amazing how many died so young

  • Great Tribute, however the Master played by Peter Pratt in the Dealy Assassin isn't in there, he died in 1995

  • It might have helped to put their charcters names and era in as well. Some I didn't recognize.

  • Even though I have seen a few episodes of classic who with the Brigadier and SJ Smith I still found myself crying after 2:10.

  • On Doctor Who's 48th birthday, I thought it was only right to view this wonderful tribute again, to pay respect to those who helped the show to get as far as it has done.

The words at the end say it all: Always Remembered, Always Loved :'(

  • They wll always be remembered... forever

  • @TheTellyCritic I don't honestly think Harry is really underrated, I think he's held in very high esteem by Doctor Who fans.

  • I can't believe how young most of these people are!!!!!!! most died in their 50's and 60's! Apart from poor old Ian Marter who was only 42. :-( This is beautiful tribte to them all.

  • It's fine. I just missed the description part when I sent that comment. :) I knew most of them but there were something I didn't recognize and some I'd never even heard of.

  • it's a shame Anthony Ainley dies a year before the new series :( do you think any of them would have enjoyed the new version of the show?

  • Beautifully done, thank you.

  • Is there any relation between Jacqueline Hill and Adrienne Hill? This is really nice and I'm very happy Peter Cushing and Roy Castle were included. Not many people remember them. The really heart wrenching names are Jon Pertwee, Nicholas Courtney, Elisabeth Sladen, and Ian Marter.

  • That was beautiful! Some of my most fondest memories of my childhood was watching doctor who videos with my dad, who passed away 10 years ago. Watching this brought a tear to my eye and a longing into my heart. They will all be greatly missed. R.I.P.

  • all missed never forgotten xxx I loved Harry (Ian Marter) and Sarah Jane (Lis sladen) they were my first companions....

  • all missed never forgotten xxx I loved Harry (Ian Ma

  • I'm in tears, that was so very beautiful. A fitting tribute to them all. Still feeling the loss of Nick Courtney and Lis Sladen (not to mention Barry Letts), but it is right and proper to remember them all. Thank you :~DE

  • @BabelColour - oh I see in the Peter Cushing Dalek films, I do beg your pardon, I had no idea who he was

  • this a both beautiful and fitting tribute to those amazing actors and actresses.

  • Extremely moving. Perhaps another with those important people behind the camera. Well done.

  • a truly fitting tribute superb brought a tear to my eye

  • What a fantatstic tribute to some of the best actors and actresses

  • Well done.

  • I think you should have put who they played for new comers like me. But over all great vid and I really loved the Abba song you used. It was so appropriot.

  • ... ... ... BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!

I miss the whole lot of them. Godspeed to all - you've made the world a better place by helping the rest of us to see a better way of living our lives. Thank you, again, Babelcolour. You always know how to set the tone of a video. <3

  • Man, I wish I didn't tear up so easily. This is beautiful, Babelcolour, thanks for your time and effort.

  • it still hurts when i see liz sladen :( RIP

  • Lovely...

  • Im so selfish - all this video did for me was enhance my inner screaming fanboy. HURRY UP WITH A REUNION SHOW BEFORE TOM BAKER KICKS IT NEXT!!! 48 years of DW is long enough. We cant wait for the big 5-0! Time and time and time again . . . aways late, always lost . . . always running out on us. Like orphans in a storm . . . naked upon the shores of the Silver Devistation . . . abandoned . . . with no official 11 Doctors Special . . . :(

  • nicely done - brought a tear to the eye

  • Wow...one of my favorite Doctors(The 3rd, Jon Pertwee), and the year the actor dies is the year I was born.

  • Don't Forget:

    Verity Lambert 1935-2007

    and

    Robert Holmes 1926-1986

  • How saed to think all them greats of doctor who are now all gone I guess its only time now that a lot of the classic series cast will start to died off from the 60s and 70s.

  • There is a simple elegance and beauty to this tribute. Well done for bringing a tear to this Whovian's eye. Also, I noticed and was very pleased that you included Cast from the Peter Cushing films. They may not be the best, but at their hearts, they are still Who.

  • @CGren123 Thank you. I glad you appreciated it's simplicity. Sometimes less is more.

  • This is why I consider Doctor Who more than just a tv show, we remember them, we mourn them and we pay tribute to them. There's something quite comfortingly religious about that.

  • @farshnuke I remember Sylvester McCoy once saying something very similar - that Doctor Who was, in many ways, quasi-religious. I think that's an insightful comment. For many fans, though obviously not for all, it really is.

  • @BabelColour Yes, you've hit the nail on the head. I'm also oddly comforted to know that it was my favourite Doctor who noted it. Mind you I suppose when you're the serving Doctor during the wilderness years then I suppose your fans are more likely to be of the die hard type

  • @farshnuke

The 'wilderness years'! I love that. And I adore Sylvester.

  • Beautiful video, I noticed William Hartnell and Patrick Troughton died at 67 and Jon Pertwee died at 77.

  • @heat000 Jon actually passed away before his 77th birthday. Their ages were 67, 67 and 76

  • Made me cry, and I haddont realised that Anthony Ainsley had died, it really shocked me, I think this is a fitting tribute and beautifally made as always :) x

  • very nice tribute to the actors and actresses of doctor who that are no longer with us may they rest in peace God bless you

  • It's disconcerting that a disproportionate number of the deceased DW cast listed here died quite young by 21st century standards (with poor Liz Sladen being the latest and most infamous example).

Babylon 5 is getting a similar track record with a handful of its key cast members already dying fairly young, well before retirement age (like Andreas Katulas).

And Dursley McLinden from "Remembrance" died at just 30 from AIDS...

  • R.I.P.

  • Didn't we also lose this year a gentleman whose name escapes me, who used to do the voice of the Daleks in the 70s and 80s?

  • @aperson22222 Roy Skelton. Best Dalek voice operator ever, but now he, his Dalek voice, Zippy and George from "Rainbow" will sadly be missed.

  • Elisabeth Sladen so sudden that hit me in the gut when it was announced RIP always remembered all of them...

  • Beautiful, such a tragedy they have all gone. Elisabeth Sladen, Ian Marter and many of the others all died far too young.

  • I will share this, on the FaceBook Doctor Who pages, I am on...

    Well done!

  • What a wonderful thing to do. I must admit that I was fine until E.S. came on the screen and then I teared up.

  • @dwellyn I'm glad you appreciate the sentiment. They may have passed on but their legacy lives on within millions of people.

  • I'm so glad Ian is still alive.

He will be at a convesion in a few months :D

  • I have a an odd feeling WR will go next :(

  • This really was a wonderfully moving video. Excellent work.

  • Made me tearing watching this. Would have been nice for some mentions about the most well remembered people who worked behind the scenes, like Verity Lambert and Barry Letts

  • I never realised that Patrick Troughton died two years after The Two Doctors.... Just shows how fit he was for his age.

  • A very touching vid. Shows just how many people who worked in front of the camera to make WHO a success are sadly no longer with us. Great work as always Babelcolour, definatly one for my favourites list. Could I make a suggestion? How about a similar vid, but for the writers/producers/directors of Doctor Who, who have now passed on. Just a suggestion :) I think it would accompany this vid nicely :D

  • When I saw Jon Pertwee, Nicolas Courtney an Elisabeth Sladen my heart cringed...

  • Wonderful Chaps, all of them!!

  • Anthony Ainley died? I had no idea! Oh god, this was so sad!!

  • lovely.

  • I swore I wasn't going to cry today, oh well. Another fantastic tribute Babelcolour.

  • Out of all of these, the most tragic is the loss of Ian Marter at the very young age of 42. He truly loved the show and was an absolutely splendid person, and you can't say that for every main cast member involved in the show.

  • @TheEuropeanSwallow So tragically young. He died on his birthday. I so loved Harry. My favourite companion.

  • @BabelColour He was one of the companions who should have made a return appearance at least once, if only so they could see how he was doing.

  • @TheEuropeanSwallow I agree, I thought Ian Marter was a great companion.

  • @TheEuropeanSwallow not only that but you could just tell he was great friends with Baker and Sladen. I feel like Harry is one of the most underrated companions of all time.

  • Weeping,,,

  • Splendid people. All of them.

  • Beautiful.

  • Fantastic tribute. I shed a ear, thank you Babelcolour, thank you.

  • a beautiful sentiment, I actually have tears in my eyes as I write this

  • That was brilliant.

  • I shall not cry. I will NOT cry! (short pause) *Cries*

  • No mention of Roy Skelton. He did voices of the Daleks and Cybermen during their on-screen appearences from 1967 to 1988.

Anyway, this video broke my heart. Like with Remebrance Day for WW1 veterans and soldiers who lost their lives, the passing of Classic Who cast, will always be remembered with sad thoughts.

    A very touching tribute.

  • @CMDRKillsalot The discription below the video does state it is only the Doctors and their companions. Plus the two long-standing Masters. Over 48 years a lot of people have died and I wasn't going to make a 35 minute roll of honour.

  • @BabelColour you should do a roll call video for behind the scenes staff and long serving/best remembered villains.

  • . Ainley was quite recent then, 2004. Who was David Brierly was he the operator of K9 or something. What about Roy and The Toymaker

  • @grant24678 David Brierly was the voice of K9. John Leeson voiced him in other seasons.

  • Didn't the guy who voiced the Daleks in classic series die this year?

  • I didn't know David Brierly was dead

  • very moving anf well done as always

  • some of them i didn't know were dead :'(

  • RIP :'( I had a lump in my throat while watching this... We will never forget them, they are always in our hearts.

  • :’(

  • brilliant, RIP all of them :') beautiful :)

  • Nice :)

  • made me cry...thank you Babelcolour :) though you did forget to add Michael Gough as The Toymaker who died earlier this year

  • @BadWolf117Returns There are many, many more people (like Michael Wisher, Michael Gough), sadly. But they're always remembered.

  • @thatenglishkid Read the description and I do make clear who's included and who isn't

  • Rest in peace <3

  • Brilliant video. :)
