Their door was hanging open. At night. 5 foot from the robbery. Pretty suspicious by all accounts.

I'd have done the same, the robbers may have smashed open the dispenser, triggered the alarm then panicked. In which case forcing open the nearest door and coercing the people inside to cover soundspossible.

To put it another way, imagine the robbers had gone in to that office and the police hadn't investigated. A half dozen people inconvenienced or a hostage situation. Which would you prefer?

Can't say I've never had the wrong address myself, but this is definitely face-palm worthy. At least those guys can look back at this and just laugh it off. I'd being going wtf the whole time if I was in their shoes (which I'm pretty sure they were), but at the end of the day, things were resolved and there was no incident (robbers next door getting away being the exception).
