To read the responses of all the so called tango experts was amusing. All so sure they know what tango is. There is only one way and it is there way. Like when piazzola created great tango music so many said but it is not tango.

In context this was a professional dancer teamed with a celebrity whose expertise is not as a dancer. With a very limited time to create this dance it was nothing less than great.

@mimescape The problem with the "context" is that most people watching the video aren't even conscious about it. They are mislead to believe that this is "perfect Argentine Tango". You are right, for a non professional dancer this is a good "show". But for someone who really love and appreciate the art of Argentine Tango, this is a fraud. And please don't compare these dancers with Piazzola, a dancer like Chicho Frumboli could be compared to Piazzola but not the ones on this video.

Gotta agree with those of you who said this was not a tango. And I think the same can be said for almost all of the AT's that have been done on the show, with the possible exception of that of Giles and Cheryl. I'm sure a pro who focuses on the Argentine Tango would not recognize DWTS AT's as such. If you ever have the chance to see the documentary Tango Real, you'll see what I mean.

Perfect, you say? This is awful from a both a technical and a musical point.  Their posture is hideous (arched backs and bent knees), they are not dancing into the floor and the whole thing looks overly choreographed; way too many lifts and poses with no actual tango steps. Brutal. Argentine tango is impossible to fake. i wish they'd stop trying.
