  • @NSmodeler24 U do realy nice work. I just bought two Athearn EMDSD70aces to give away to a poor working class hero union family. Or a poor military family. Our group tries to help out the democratic union and or lower class people. We are bringing a new ear of rail fannig away from yuppies and suburbian PHD morons self important. toledoOHindependnetrailfan I am gonna be out in northwest OH this weekend looking for a poor fam to give them to. We are a union military family. god bless

  • @ussoldierrail I was gonna buy off of you and have you do some work for me but never got around to hearing back from you. Plus we have been tied up recently as our son was wounded three weeks ago in afgahnastan so we have been busy now he shares my story a handicapped vet also. He digs trains and unions and working clas heros. You do very nice work and all the best to you brother

  • Nice job. I'm working on my first tophat now from a blue box dash 9 and a railpower B40-8. If I was you I'd use the rest of that B40 to finish up your C39, that's what one of my buddies did.

  • Cool! Good luck on the engine!

  • Are you going to convert this into an NS Top Gon?

  • Did you fuse the shell from the Dash 8 to the cab of the Dash 9 and make it a Dash 8-40CW?

  • No i didnt. I took the shell of the dash 8 and used it for parts. Ive done a few other top hats since though and I did make a make a Dash 8-40CW with the shell and cab.

  • @NSmodeler24 Hey, do you still have the c40-8w? I want it to repaint it to cr quality, but I don't need the dcc decoder or sound or anything, just straight analog.

  • @NSmodeler24 Is it 6 axle as well?

  • @NSmodeler24 BNSF Dash 8-40CW or Santa Fe? Or you could make an Amtrak dash 8

  • I've heard horror stories about Athrean's RTR D9-44CWs. They make loud noises when they run and as they get older they sound louder. Could you tell me if the NS RTR D9-44CW is worth buying?

  • Well I have about 5 RTR athearns and a few of them ive had for 4 years and I havnt had any problems with them yet. I would say that theyre worth buying. I would suggest a Kato over an Athearn RTR for sure but theyre more expensive.

  • So do they have good metal wheels and are quiet runners?

  • Yep all the RTR come with the new nice kind of metal wheels and so far mine are still running quietly.

  • Well I would like to thank you on behalf of answering my questions.

  • Glad to help!

  • Your Cstom Engines Are A-W-E-S-O-M-E

  • Hey thank you!

  • The problem with the AC4400 is that the headlights are nose mounted. NS always moves them to be cab mounted lol. What a rip from the company. Lol. Other than that, great looking AC4400. Also the end result is awesome. Lol.

  • lol. Ya I move all my headlights to tge cab on my ns locos... Thanks!

  • No problem. Whenever you are getting ready to make another Tophat, send me a personal message and I will get money and buy it. Or if you would sell me just the cab, nose, numberboards, headlights (basically the front end) of a Tophat, I will pay you for that so I can make a custom locomotive never seen before called a AC4000C. It is my prototype of a AC4400CW, but in the NS Tophat standard cab/nose form. Lol. PM me to let me know if you're interested please. Thanks, bro.

  • I admit that would be pretty sick! Alright ya Ill defidentally let you know! Thanks

  • Who's the artist?

  • how did you remove the lights from the shell. I am attempting to relocate the lights on my c44-9w to be prototipcal to norfolk southern. i dont want to break the lights though. thanks,

    dave

  • I Take a pair if needle nose plyers and grab the wires directly behind the bulb on the inside of the shell. They should pull right out. Also if its an athearn RTR there is some glue on the inside of the shell and i will help to cut as much of that out as possible.

  • And the ex-conrail b40-8 in this video at 0:18.

  • and how much did the 8845 cost?

  • It sold on Ebay for $199

  • thats alot i got mine 4 like 20$ ant a train fair

  • Darn lol. Iwas gonna buy it. Too late as usual. Lol. Such is my luck.

  • i lov ns i got alot of ho ns csx santa fe bnsf ship yards alot of em but how m unch did the 9970 cost

  • That's beautiful! Excellent job!

  • Jabbajawz4life, you need to remove the coupler boxes and pull straight up from the center of the engine gently. The white things hold the motor to the frame so don't remove those.

  • Okay this is urgent.I got an athearn c44-9w today and I wanted to remove the body so that I could add more detailed parts to it.But The frame has these white pieces that dont allow the frame to come aloose. Can you help me.

  • wow dude ur talented :D my friend and i are stile plannib are layout....great video

  • Fantastic job!!! How did you do the number boards?
