Well look at all the ignorant folks posting today.FYI,did you know that Catholic hospitals (not for profit) account for 12% of the hospitals in the US. Not for profit "faith" based hospitals account for almost 60% of the hospitals in the US. Now, think of them closing shop when they are told to provide services that go against the mission statement they have. These "faith based" hospitals you all so elegantly bash provide more back to the communities they service than the for profit ones.

I don't agree, in Belgium Catholic hospitals provide abortions, IVF, even told us to use condoms (though perhaps a little more reluctantly than normal hospitals ;) ) and Catholic Universities do stem cell research but all these institutions will keep that Catholic label because it is the religion's main point, "yeah we're really evil but look at the good we do" if they drop the good then only the evil will be left!

Agreed, let the hospital-system become regulated so that their profits go towards research and assisting those who cannot afford medical care, or at least take those profits and split them between maintanence and cost-reduction for procedures.

Let's do away with hospitals filled with marble statues of bronze-age characters and gold-plated plaques with depicted mythologies, idolatry at best, and replace it with honest care and concern for modern medical technique. This is sickening!
