@TheNewLooter I haven't played Dos, but I know the plot and score, and I have to say that PoR is probably my favorite for the DS, and my favorite of the newer CV games. Sc4 is my favorite older game, but it is hard to compare the older and newer games on equal terms. Anyways, main point, I love the game.

I've played Castlevania, Simon's Quest, Dracula's Curse, Bloodlines, Vampire's Kiss, Symphony of Night, Legends, Adventures, Harmonu of Dissonance, Aria of Sorrow, 64, Legact of Darkness and Portrait of Ruin...

And PoR is a great Castlevania, it bring answers to several parts of the saga... And, overall, he got one (imo, THE) of the best soundtracks. Besides, you can play different maneers (Johnathan solo qith subweapons only, Charlotte solo with magic only, both, hard modes, bonus modes...)

In France, Judgement will be released on February, so i haven't any info from this game. And the Lecarde family origins is not a theory of mine, but of a part of the fan community.

Concerning Richter, what is the proof of his power above other Belmonts ? He's got some cool moves, but Julius is the only Belmont who really kill Dracula. But I don't see why you're talking about that !

Julius Belmont also wasn't alone; It wasn't somuch that he 'killed him dead' but that when he died, the Castle and thus Dracula's power and soul was sealed inside of a solar eclipse; a single moment of time. Making it impossible for him to come back.

Judgment details have most likely proven the said theory wrong, it is said there that Alucard "made" the spear and gave it to the Lecardes to support the Belmonts. Although there's still a chance since Bloodlines was a little far from Dracula X timeline, I guess we'd find out more when the PS3/360 game comes out. But as of the Radio Drama arc, it is still possible since Alucard and Maria were together.

Portrait of Ruin is childish. it's dialogue is awful. It's music is a mixed bag of few excellent songs like this and absolute shit, the presentation is bland, there is no real reason to use charlotte, the level design and tiling is awful (seriously, there are parts where bricks disapear and its just dark grey blotches; they did not play it out well) the storyline has excellent ideas but is horribly executed, the artwork is shit, didn't take advantage of it being in the 1940's, enemy re-use, etc.

The dialogues of YOUNGS Johnatan and Charlotte are childish. Personnally, I didn't found Wind or Brauner's words childish.

The music is a mixed bag of 12 excellent musics, 11 good musics, and the rest is bad (about 10).

There is a reason to really use Charlotte : try to play only with her during all the game. Like Carrie in Castlevania 64. But you could think at it by yourself.

Tiling is also missing in some areas of sotn (or, quickly done).

The storyline is superbly executed. You prefered Aria of Sorrow, where 90% of the game there's no story, but near the end, you learn the truth ? Same for SotN, but at 50% (if you get the "second set of endings")

The artwork is shit, ok.

The missing of the ww2 background, also ok, but there are few references : statues of Medusa, ravaged villages levels.

There is not a single good line in the game. I enjoy very little of the soundtrack from Por; and most of the ones I do are nothing but remixes. (Crucifix held close, iron blue intention, etc.) The only good original tracks are the entrance hall, Dance of Sadness and two or three more nameless tracks.

There are many good lines in the game. For the soundtrack, I've enjoyed most musics that in SotN. And not only the remixes. Invitation of crazed moon, Dance of sadness, Gaze up at darkness, Hail from the past, Name entry, A small prayer, Hidden curse, Banquet of madness, Meeting of destiny...

What few areas of SOTN that were "quickly done" were offset by the massive amount of rooms that WERE done well and looked spectacular. Portrait has no such thing; it is literally just a consistent piss of horrible level design and lazy tiling.
