hey! I've been searching for quite so long for a piece like this... so far, YOU HAVE THE BEST RENDITION among the trying hard accordion guys... just a little polish on the timing and you will be doing it perfectly! Thank you for your music! Mabuhay ka kabsat!!!
i love this song! i am currently trying to learn it by ear and would if somebody made a how to video or a video that was zoomed in so I could see which keys/buttons were being played.
Ion Ivanovici (alternatively, Iosif Ivanovici, Josef Ivanovici) (born 1845 in Timişoara, died September 28, 1902 in Bucharest) was a Romanian military band leader and composer. He wrote over 350 dance pieces and marches.
Hi Terry, I think you´re playing it beautifully, it´s my favorite song . initially a Jiddish song "Oh, jene Nacht" but I´ve never herad it in an instrumental version, but I really loved it, thanks for sharing it.
I hope you don't mind I dare, but it was composed by the romanian composer Iosif Ivanovici in 1880, than became the most played hit of the Paris Exibition in 1889.
Later, in 1946 Al Jolson and Saul Chaplin published it under their name (it's a stealth, of course), and it appeared in yddish only in 1947, published by H.Lefkovitch and Chaim Tauber.
Very nice! I invite you to check out my version (recorded for my wife on our 8th Anniversary) which you can find on my channel. I enjoyed your playing, thanks for posting the video! BillMills
Awesome! The only other presentation of this piece I've heard is the version I have on tape in the video I made of myself playing guitar. Feel free to check it out and let me know what you think!
Thank you Terrence that was nicely played.
