  • NEED HELP!!! wich way is the piston supposed to go??? The part with the cut out goes twards the carberator or exhaust manifold???? Plzz answer

  • the ends of my crank are rusted abit does that mean i have to change them ?

  • Sorry I posted the other comment b4 the video ended .. i just saw someone ask what the "red sealer" was.. I see u used the copper stuff... I guess a little better than the red high temp silicone.. but still not correct to use on these materials...Still, go with the gray or black. you wont go back! lol They really work the best.. Its great to use on the carb inlet to seal that as well. A perfectly sealed engine will run better and a LOT more consistantly!

  • @MarsManJR15 No worries! =) A lot of this is preference. I had one guy tell me the "hobby grade" tubes were a ton better. The sad part is, its the same stuff. I have a tube of the copper and a tube of the black. For the ideal engine temps its almost a wash between the two but really depends on what you do and where you do it. I suggest to try both and see what you like over several gallons.

Either way, great advice for anyone who needs it. =)

  • You sent your engine out to get a port job?... You don't do that yourself? With all the how to vids you have I'm pretty surprised.. I have a motor mod /fab bus. and these engines are the easiest thing in the world to mod... But anyways .. the red silicone sucks and smells like shit lol..The gray or black Permatex doesn't smell much & they work a LOT better and hold up better to fuel and solvents ...Its what most motorcycle engine/transmission cases are sealed with So easily handles Nitro temps

  • @MarsManJR15 For me, there are some things that I would prefer others to do over time and setup. I typically am working 7 to 10 projects at a time =) And kicking some cash to a friend is not always a bad thing to help others out =)

I go through some of my feelings on the black in the other post. For me, I tear down the engine for inspection and cleaning after a full run day, etc. So, longevity vs fuel. etc deterioration is not a huge factor for me

  • i was having problems with my 2.5r revo and it turns out the piston was broken up and i looked online and you can only but a sleeve and piston. can you buy just a piston or am i better off just getting a new engine

  • @DigitaIgenocide You want to replace both the piston with the sleeve.

  • @DigitaIgenocide nah dude put a 3.3 in it. i have a traxxas nitro rustler 2.5 i ran it too lean and damaged the sleeve too. instead of me buying a piston sleeve, i put a traxxas 3.3 in my rustler and its hella fast. check my video out!

  • i pulled the sleeve out of my engine (RC8rs PRO .28) and iended up freezeing the sleeve so it would fit back into my crank case why did yours fit so easy? lols i got it to fit it fi pretty easy frozen lols

  • ok stupid qestion but will a muddy dirty cooling head cause ur engie to overhead i need ur help i cant find te source of this overhearting its not lean its very rich? any ideas? it will just stop and wont fire back up again after wards unless u leave it to cool?

  • Its blocking the wind flow through the fins and thus not allow it to cool

  • hahah so funny i cleaned it that day and its not overheated sisnce thanx for your help :):):)

  • @Tunerboii2045 Damn dude, use common sense.

  • my nitro engine won't start, i have tuned it to flush and everything, when i take it apart, is there any clear sign that there is a problem when looking at the internals?

  • have u check your glow plug

  • yep, new 1

  • @jmey107 grooves and scrapes are signs of extreme wear and tear on the motor... but it would only happen when running extremely lean... not enough fuel will cause it to wear out faster then to much fuel... but to much fuel youl end up over heated and could very well blow the motor...

  • what was the clear liquid?

  • good video

  • hey squirrel, i was wondering if you could help me out with something quite irritating with a nitro engine. i just finished "servicing" it and getting it ready for action after several months of sitting around not doing anything, but for some reason i just cant get the conrod to go back on the crankshaft, it just wont budge. have you got any tips for me?

    thanks :D

  • hey could you use thread lock instead of that instant gasket seal red stuff too seal your engine up??

  • thread lock on screws nuts etc never use as a sealer it fails use a high quality silicon material for cars

  • If the there is a gasket already do you keep it there even though you are using the gasket material and do you advise using loctite on the screws?

  • Comment removed

  • u use wd40 oil, right?

  • what is that red cream

  • high temp engine gasket material available from any automotive store.

  • hey can u give me a page were to buy high temp engine gasket material please.

  • hey to seal the crankcase i used that gasket making stuff from ace hardware is that ok

  • Can you use the Cow RC stuff to clean the insides of your engines?

  • Not advisable.

  • heyy good video, umm i have a quick question for ya umm i have a revo3.3 and i took off the ez start bull shit and i want to but on a pull start do i have to get a different starting shaft ?

  • Nope, you can use your current shaft.

  • how can i tell if my .28 ofna ultra lx one motor as lost its comprssion and would i be better offf buying a new motor rather then a piston and sleeve as it would only cost me a couple of extra bucks thanks for ur help

  • The piston will be easier to move and you will be able to start it but the engine will die once it warms up. You will not be able to start again until it has cooled.

  • Awesome video series, man. I just ordered an OS .18 tz, and I'm just researching ahead to cover all my bases about installing a new engine for the first time. Very informative and helpful, thanks for posting them.

  • How Do you get the end bearing off? can you please halp. thanks

  • Big enough watch?

  • i have a new rc buggy just out of the box i followed step by step i go to start and runs but the cars wheels move when its revs high unless i control with the remote.i have to keep my hand on the trigger other wise its autocrazy,do you have any idea what i can do .i am a first timer with rc cars.

  • try turning your throttle trim down on your remote that should help

  • wat type of oil are u useing ??

  • awesome instructional video.. i know most of these techniques, but awesome for some of the newbies... job well done

  • can u paint the head

  • nice delmashion

  • have u ever thought puting a 4 stroke, 2 piston engine on an rc car? there is one built

(I am asking u because I think u are the right person)

  • It would be very slow and have too much torque.

  • you should try to make a car with 4 engines :D

  • this shit is helpful as hell if your like me and dont know what your doing i got the engine all the way down and didnt know how to get the piston and rod out this solved my problem cool!!!

  • Gracias! Feel free to flip through the rest of the vids. Everything from break in, tuning, setups, initial start, etc. The forum mirrors this if you want to read and look at pictures plus it has a community.

  • is .32 the biggest motor size?

  • Yes, but the MGT has a stock engine that is bigger.

  • ok thanks but what oil should i put in it when i am done?

  • hey i just watched your engine videos agen and i would like to know what is the best way to clean your engine and keep it protected from running on the beach? me and my friends really like running them there and i blew the hole engine from sand getting it there.

  • Id get a motor saver or heavy duty air filter. New Era Modeals sells a good one and Motor Saver is a good one as well. Dont go for a bling one.

I have a vid on how to clean RCs and engines. The air filter will protect the internals. It is best to flush the engine out to ensure that there is no debris and to drain excess oil every so often. Then just apply a thin coat of oil to protect the internals,

  • ok on the piston rod the oil hole. does that go toward the carb?

  • hey i dno if you can help me but i was running in my force 32 engine and the pullstart got completly solid and i thought it was flooded but it turns out that the piston is jammed and the engine complely solid do you think theres a way of freeing it or would i have to replace engine. cheers

  • yes that intresting and bdw i know all that stuff even better

  • easier to clean than a paintball marker xD

  • They are! Same goes for getting the brass out of a weapon like my AR-15. Fun to shoot but you can be swabbin for awhile! LOL

  • hahaha true

=[ i can't get RC, yet i really want one.

my parents already bout me paintball, and i can't get a job to buy my own stuff

so for now, im STUCK =[

  • lol you have the internal one way bearing, there a pain in the royal ass, thats why i have the external one way bearing lol, good video though

  • Can i do this with a TMAXX 3.3

  • You can do this with ANY nitro engine. The only difference is that you will have 2 clutch shoes and a spring that goes around them. Other than that.... it is like women, they are all cut from the same core of wood.

  • lol

  • Tanks man

  • Name paste aplic red ? you name paste ?

  • If you go to a automotive store it is high temperature gasket material Any brand will do.

  • Hey man, can u use that gasket material inplace of the gasket linking your motor to your exhaust?

  • Which the name of this folder that you use to stamp back plate?

  • I dont know?

  • tell us the crooks name so we dont get ripped off.

    Ferd

  • As I stated, he is no longer in business. He had alot of subscriptions yanked over his inability to be good on his word. To my knowledge he is still a mod on another forum. I will reserve my commentary on that as well. But, you should be relatively safe.

Just get engines modded from a brick and mortar store than a hack in his garage. That should be advice to follow with anything.

  • first view, and comment, and first rating! And who did your porting?

  • I dont recommend the modder. To my knowledge he went out of business over pocketing cash that should have gone into shipping and tooling. This left alot of unhappy people (to include myself) waiting for the returned engines. The job on this engine (compared to his previous) was not that great.
