Did you have to get two seperate ones for driver and passenger side and if so did you just get the same one, did it fit both sides or did you have to get different ones
@groganmc my 7700 f150 all stock with the 5.4. extra cab. regular highway tires, i get around 12-14 overall. im sure the 4.6 isnt to far behind, but if your towing something with the 4.6 it will get worse gas mileage because it struggles more with a bigger load. i love my 5.4
sounds awesome...i really wanna get those same high flow cats put on my truck. do u replace all four for the two mag cats or just take off the rear cats? and how much was it with install? thanks man
how does that sound in person?... it sounds beautiful on here. Im looking at 2006 F150's with the 5.4 and was wondering how the 14" sounded. How is it from a distance like where you pulled out of the street? I want a rumble in the cab, nothing obnoxious but I want to hear it decently
hey man, saw your comment. i have an 08 f150, i had magnaflows in it originally, same set up as this guy, just in an 08. but if your looking for a bigger rumble and gargle noise, go with the magnaflow high flow cats and flowmaster 40 seriers mufflers. sweet sounding combo. i just switched from magnaflows to flowmasters. and about the street and cab noise. you hear them from the street real well, but the cab noise isnt half bad, not to loud, but not to quiet.
i got an 04 f-150 i got dual flowmasters with the 40 muffler.. so your just saying i need to change my cats to high flow cats and i'll have that garling rumble?
i got an 04 f-150 with the flowmaster 40's muffler that splits to duals in the rear, i'm currently ordering 2 high flow cats for the back ones , . just wondering if i'll notice a bit of a better sound even tho i'll still have my 4 cats on , just the back ones are goin to be high flows
I have a E-350 Super Duty 7.3L Powerstroke and I have the Magnaflow 4" stainless system, it has the straight through muffler and when the turbo spools-up it sounds great.Installing the new Downpipe gives the van more power and free flow. There is no CAT on the 2000 Van w/ the 7.3L. I wrapped my entire exhaust with Thermo-Tec 2" Header Pipe Wrap. It keeps the drone sound down and the interior sound is lowered over 50 %. I will always wrap my pipes from now on. It does not affect my EGT's.
I swapped my flowmaster super 44 for a magnaflow and I am completely disappointed. Magnaflow just doesn't have enough variation for me. I just bought the 40 series. I like your truck, but I think a flowmaster just sounds better plain and simple.
Which high flow cats did you put on and what is the part number? I've been trying to find any info on these high flow cats from magnaflow for my f150. Are they universal or direct fit. Do they have O2 sensor bungs welded on? Did your check engine light come on? I have an 03 with a 5.4. K&N cold air, bbk throttle body, transdapt throttle body spacer, bbk underdrive pulleys, msd coils, ngk iridium plugs, aeromotive fuel rails and bigger injectors. With all of that I have a stock exhaust.
i have a 2000 with the 5.4....true dual high perf. cats and 14" maggies. I love it. loud enough to turn heads, but highway drone is not intolerable. good choice!!! i but a K&N FIPK on, and that made it sound even better, especially accelerating at about 1900-2200 RPMs
hey would i've been looking for that kind of system for my '91 ford f-350 with a 351windsor v8 and how's the performance of that exhaust like?

what kind of mileage do you get with each of the v8's? (4.6 & 5.4) i know mileage with a bigger truck is beside the point but i am just curious

The cats I have are the Magnaflow 94306 hi-flow cats. They are a universal fit (2.5"), and I love them. My check engine light did not come on.
