A variation of the Diplopia theme! Harry Lorayne may well be involved somewhere with respect to the original publication of the idea and no one would dare to argue with him on this fact I am sure :) You can 'clock' the deck using base 13 which although it takes a little more practice/time allows you to use all 52 cards. It is a trade off.

Some magicians have boasted that they can clock in base 10 forty cards in a little under 15 seconds. ???

Umm... Why does Brian not demo the trick the same way he explains it? When he first showed the trick, he ran through the deck and had the dude guess, but he didn't look at the card. By this point, he should be adding the value of his card to the running count, but he doesn't even look at it. How does he know he's looking for the 6 if he doesn't have an accurate count? Did he look and it got edited out for time? Doesn't make sense!

you can do this with the picture cards, regarding every picture card as 10. (which you substract immediately). then you only need to remind while you are counting which picture cards you have had. if you end up with 0 in the end, you know the card on the table is a picture card :)

what if the final number (7:47) is nine but the cards that are faced down are the 3 and a 8

Then when you subtract 9 (209) from 10 it will equal 1 (211)

So if you get the 3 you'll think they have a 6 or if you have the 8 you'll think they'll have a Ace. So how do you fix that problem

@rafathama dude if the final number is 9 then you are gonna look at your card, lets say your card is 3. then you'll do this math : 9+3=12=2.. now if you just add an 8 then the number becomes 10. that how you know the other person has an 8. dont substract 9 from 10. thats not how this works!

like 6+4=10 then i'll subtract it from 10 it will be 0 what would i do then ??

@amgdshaaban you don't subtract anything from 10 (unless the running count was 10). You subtract your running count by the card that you took a look at after the person's guess. if your running count was 0, you'll subtract either 6 or 4, and result in 6 or 4 as the other card. You just don't seem to understand how it's done.
