  • Does anyone have a video recording of their New Years (around '89) televised concert? Would love to get a copy...lived in SF back then...best party band ever!

  • @vetter111

i have a partial recording on VHS video from then but I have not played this in years so I would need to see if it can still play or be transferred to DVD.

Busy just now but will try to look at the weekend

  • Who is from the original band in this video?

  • Awesome. Saw them at University Theater in Palo Alto. They put out a few LPs. Respect Yourself never fails to captivate me.... Serious grooves

  • I saw them in Seattle in the 80's I think. They had the house on their feet dancing and singing, awsome, and they remind me of the band in the Committments.

    Wish they had a cd.

  • You had to see this 80's party band live in San Francisco....they were phenominal!!

  • You're right hepcat, 13 piece soul bands with live horns and a live Hammond B3 are a dime a dozen. What did Led Zeppelin have to do with derigibles?

  • How disappointing. What does this unimaginative "orchestra" have to do with Zasu? One would at least expect '30s era music. Perhaps they should change their name to the Common Pop band.

  • this band rocks saw them in santa cruz ca. way back when. always a fav wish i could get them on a disc

  • There should be a dvd of this performance!

  • Drumtoy 2002

I might have a VHS tape of some of that concert but I have not played it in the last 5 years or so.

  • @aggtony Is it possible to get a copy?

  • @vetter111

See reply above. I will look it out and test it. I am based in Scotland however.

  • I have a VHS tape that I had accidently recorded a New Years Eve show 1989 / 1990. I swore to to myself that I could NEVER EVER record over it because the band on there was so smokin and so fresh that I was pretty sure that I was never going to see something like that again! They did a Sly & the Family Stone medley and just started bringing the house down when they started groovin on "Hey Music Lovers"! HOT HOT HOT...!!!!

  • @DRUMTOY2002 - Any chance to get a copy of the recording?

  • Wish I could have been there ...Thanks for sharing it!!

  • I love this band!!!

  • Morey Goldstein was too sick to perform that evening in June and he passed away in July. He is, however, in the videos that you posted from 1987 -- he's the lead tenor sax player.

  • The sax player who got sick, is it the blond guy or the bearded guy?

  • Sorry to hear the reason for the reunion, but what a great band! I fell in love with Kathy Kennedy...
