with such power only 4x4. The best is symmetrical AWD like in Subaru or Mitsubishi. Drive that car on wet tarmac or white road in winter - tragedy. But Volvo is much cheaper than Subaru or Mitsu.

I'm guessing by the way the RPM spikes in such an immediate manner prior to acceleration this thing is fitted with NOS, could be wrong, but a tell tale sign of a kit being used is the RPM increasing so dramatically like that.

I listened few times with headset and I didn´t find sudden rew that is enough rapid to support NOS theory.

You can hear turbo whine and chance to third or fourth gear and after chance it starts to burn. I think there is no dump valve to lose pressure and turbo is allready loading and has no need to gain pressure again so there is no lag after up shifting.

I admit that you can be right about NOS, but I personally think there is none.

i have a 5 cylinder 850 93 with a torqy transmission. lol its fun because if you dont watch it the gear transmission will peel out even going from 4 to 5 you will jump =)

This is a prime example of just how underrated the Volvo 5 Cyl.Turbo is. A mechanical masterpiece! Who would suspect a car with such poise, class, and comfort could thrill so much? I've owned BMW, Benz, and Volvo. Volvo was by far my favourite. Great video!

@bmdu69 I had a T5 850, I tuned it up sooooo highly i have to put a Ford Focus World Rally type sequential transmission in it to control the motherfucker at high speed. I took it to a show in Scotland and stopped off for fuel 4x and it became unsufferable in the end. Fantastic cars 850's are I agree.
