Continuation:Father of Talat Mahmood was also a singer. In Lucknow he sung this song in presence of Allama Iqbal in a variety show. Simply it is not understood why RMAKhan wrote this song in different way.

Taraana-E-Hind was composed well before 1947. After arrival from Germany completing hist Phd in theology, as he realised what beautiful country he originate. Sadly he inspired Jinnah to become Pakistan a separate land for Muslim. He died well before seeing formation of Pakistan and Freedom of India 1938.

This song is from the 1959 movie Bhai Bahan, and not from 1969 movie Bhai Bahan. N. Dutta gave music for 1969 movie, and I think G. S. Kohli was MD in 1959 movie from which this song is taken.

How can it be from Allama Iqbal. He will not write "Barbaad kar diya tha aandhi nain is chaman ko....... Gandhi ne is chaman ko.." The real Allama Iqbal can be found on the wikipedia

You may cry hoarse. Hindustan remains what THAT Iqbal originally wrote. When Iqbal modified this taraana-e-Hindi to make an Islamic song, taraana-e-milli, Iqbal died a sad man! Take your pick.

Masterpiece, Hemanthji. Brings tears to my eyes. I don't know exactly why. May be a combination of the beauty of the song and the lofty ideas expressed, and thinking about our innocence lost from those times, and the nation's unfulfilled dreams.
