I was assuming they were talking about the same engine within the is300 that I have but I wasn't taking any chances. For everyone asking how much it is to swap a 2JZ-GTE I6, the stock 2JZ-GE I6 is able to run a turbo. Much easier then a swap and you still get good power. You can run pretty good pressure on stock internals also.

it mite be my opinion but the toyota FL-A has no 1-2jz inline 6, AND there is nothing SUPRA about the car except its price u could buy 3 gtrs for a fraction of a second slower its a shame that automobiles are almost all electronic that technology dosnt work well in cold conditions and people like to learn how to fix cars there selves only a small % of people can aford to bring a car in to a shop to get charged $100 just to fix a $00.50 wire that takes 3min to replace now how realistic isthat

@jamaicanlovrboy I got you brother! Tires, Brakes, Suspensions and then power upgrades is the way to go. But at least now the beast is equiped with performance pads.  Last year was just Scary!!! Might sound like little but they do the job right. Even got me impressed by the initial bite. I've been racing cars for a few years now and I know what race compound feels like. All I'm sayin' is this setup ain't bad at all for street use...

sounds real nice, i love wastegate sounds...@rjeezy...all the 2jzgte are the same, just the one from the Aristos have front sump oil pans, and supras are rear sump. even the older 2jzge share the same forged internals with higher compression ration, and a better flowing head since the 2jzge has no turbos. even the 1jz is the same, same bore(89mm), just shorter stroke hence the 2.5l. you can use all the accessories from a 2jz on a 1jz. all the same motors man. with minor upgrades over the years

The sound of this external wastegate reminds me of full prep. japanese race cars. The microphone on the camera doesn't do justice to the real thing... In the city it just scares people... Pedestrians tend to get very mad. They don't feel safe anymore. Even on the sidewalk... Hehe!

@lzammyl3 To this question I have no answers... Sorry! Owner won't disclose this info even with me. On the net the engine is around 4k. Trans is about the same or 1k less. You got to add shipping. Getting close to 8k. Add the swap 1K. But then your 2JZ GTE is stock. This one isn't. And parts for engine like these tend to cost slightly more than Civic. No disrespect to Honda owners here. There is the trial and errors factor too... Costly errors...

As far as a mounting for a 2JZ-GTE into the Lexus IS300, there was an article in Import Tuner that showed an IS300 with the conversion and it said $60,ooo. Now that was 2-3 years ago so I'ld assume that the cost has dropped. It said the reason for the cost is the lengthening of the transmission and the remounting of the engine block to the frame (had to move 6 inches back).

@lzammyl3 well it depends on a few factors, for one the motors price varies ($2500-3500), than there is the transmission u will choose to go along with (4speed automatic, 5speed r154 from 1jz supra, 6speed v160 supra getrag OR keep stock IS300 auto tranny) Than there is the labor where most of the budget will go into. A friend managed to throw 10k on his swap but if he had known better it could have been 7k...

To properly do it, it would probably cost around the 3k-5k range. Proper tune and supporting mods.

@banama I don't do bars... But 18psi is the setup in this video. More or less depending on the occasion. I'm metric all the way buy I stil prefer HP's, Torque in pounds and Boost in Psi. I just don't know what the numbers means the other way. Ill have to convert some day...

@rjeezyneezy From what I know there is no difference in between a 2JZ from a Supra or from let say a Toyota Aristo. But I might be wrong so double check!

About the body kit... Owner asked me to not disclose some upgrades on the car. We sure don't want to see a replica next week at the red light. But I might give you a hint: This kit is virtually available in Forza Motorsport 3 upgrade shop. So dig in if you really want to know...

Doubt it, the IS300 only came with the 5 speed and auto with a NA 2jz, they most likely used the Supra 6 speed since it came factory in the twin turbo models.
