I needed keys so I got the Sl 49, so my setup is slightly different.

Ableton is seriously like the best Live Performing software. I got my launchpad and couldn't believe the control, I mean I spend very little time with the mouse, and only use the regular keyboard for shortcuts.

I can't wait to get another Launchpad, I think 2 is great, 3 would be perfect!

I have a Launchpad and an SLMKII 25 and I get feedback on the session mode screen when I assign the drum pads on the keyboard to midi in Ableton. Theres no cross feedback in this vid, am I doing something wrong?

@DeeJaySens3 Yes, you can DJ in Ableton Live with the Zero SL MK II and the Launchpad either at home or at the club, and you can record your sets within the software itself. Alternatively both can be used to create remixes on the fly.

@teqnicolourdawn OK... so the launchpad is in User 1 mode, so that the Launchpad will send notes to Ableton Live. Create a MIDI track and add a drumrack, and slice some audio in it. In order for the lights to light up, just create another track and route MIDI from that back to Launchpad (there is a video that shows this somewhere). NOW... the trick... is to add...a MIDI arpegiator in Ableton live before the sliced drumrack. Its basically the arpegiator that makes all this happen.

WTB - information of the actual launchpad. i see he had some seq. on the left. while the right handled more of the sound info. then the firework display., which is either the same as the one that bounces off each other, or just for a video finish.

@bgaslx18 Not in the same way as it controls Live unfortunately. The Launchpad is a MIDI device which send out relevant information and can be learnt via Logic's midi learn mode however this will not be an automatic integration.

nice i already have one launchpad its awsome! i might get the MKII after i sell the Nocturn. the nocturn is nice but i dont like the knob layout (with the 8 knobs split by the middle nob) and they are not in a row so sometimes makes knowing what you are controlling confusing. having 16 knobs plus a LCD and 8 faders would be awsome!

@madedd02 These are controllers so they don't have music stored on them but can easily be used to trigger and control music in most recording software, including Reason and FL.

@IIxPstylesxII The Launchpad can be used as a MIDI device in any DAW, however the controls of the Mixer / Effects / Instruments is primarily used with Ableton Live. You will not be able to control your session as you would with Live.

i had bought the launchpad yesterday, great stuff. but i'm having the next problem : when i use it on my laptop (intel i3, 3gb ddr3, win 7 64-bit) i have a lot of lag or lattency when changing pages or scrolling with the arrows, it makes the launchpad almost useless. when i ran it on my desktop (amd athlon,2gb,winXP 32) it runs smoothly and wonderfull. i've seen some other people with this issue..could you please help, novation ?

@orientalflux The effects on the left Launchpad is achieved by sending the relevant MIDI notes to the launchpad to light up the desired buttons. The right hand Launchpad is in 'demo mode' which can be accessed by pressing session, user 1, user 2 mixer and down.

@nairobibeats Yes, it is being used in mixer mode. The LED feedback automatically updates when the mixer levels are changed using the faders on the Zero SL MK II.

It just demos the kind of control you can enjoy using the Zero + Launchpad controller hardware together with Ableton Live.

It doesn't matter how the demo music sounds, or how anyone looks in the video. It's about the interface between musician, software and hardware. And if you've ever used these tools, you might find they're pretty good.

The unit on the left uses the arpeggiator MIDI effect that comes with Ableton. It is playing sliced up audio spread across the 64 pads. The left hand unit also triggers sounds in the first four tracks.
