  • Really, I cannot "distinguish" Before Sunset and Before Sunrise even if I wanted to. The two movies are not movies: they are life, life as it is supposed to be lived; they are love, because love is an endless conversation with the loved one, full of passion and playfull laughters. Perhaps, as I grow more mature I kind of appreciate more the 2nd one: it's not easy for two "grown ups" to speak the way they speak, to reveal themselves "naked", as they used to do the first time, nine years before.

  • 5:12 the best part when Ethan is so amazed by her, that he forgets that they still playing the game

  • "I think that's when I fell for him".

    I love that part :)

  • Before Sunset was necessary for Jesse and Céline story. You realize that, although it will be more beatiful they'll meet each other again in Vienna, things aren't that happy in real life. What happened in the second film was more realistic, and I loved it. Jesse finally realizes that Céline is the soulmate he's been looking for, and the other stuff is irrelevant. She said it on her waltz: "Even tomorrow in other arms, my heart will stay yours until I die." Lovely story ♥

  • 0:18 - 0:29 OO lord i love her french!!!!

  • Greatest love story of all time.

  • It's so cool looking back at this film, a scene like this. I watched 'Before Sunset' today, and seeing them 9 yrs. later in their older ages is really great. It's really a good film, but there's always nothing that can touch that original warmth, where it began. Truly a unique story. The connection is such that it's like they aren't even acting, just playing, and actually falling for each other. I'm so glad movies like these are made. They're true to how life is and can be, and how love can be.

  • I'm learn french because this movie!! sooooo wonderful and full of love this movie! I felt in love for this history but, THE 2nd ONE IS SO.. ARGH before sunset screw up the history!!

  • @mahlolokinha are you kidding? the 2nd one is as good as the 1st! Actually, I think the 2nd one is even better...

  • She is sooo my type, I just love French light coloured girls, so cute

  • I totally LOVE how he looks at her!

  • I've lived this movie.

  • Una de las grandes escenas del cine. Que digo grande, BRILLANTE.

En Before Sunset hay una también, la que van en auto y comienza a frustrarse y discutir. Thank you very very very much Richard Linklater.

  • Please oh please, let me find a love like this.

  • Ethan Hawke is so freaking adorable in the beginning of this ... when he picks up the phone, and when she says "comment ça va?" LOL

  • In our days this type of girl is labeled as '' weird'',but you just have to know them better...damn,i can't believe how much society changed.

  • I just LOVE this film and especially this scene....the chemistry between them is so strong..I love the way he looks at her..so nice

  • I read that the idea for this same came out of a collaboration with the actors - Julie Delpy, who plays Celine, used to do this with her friends, so it was largely her idea. Wonderful scene, pleasure to watch them act.

  • I experienced this kind of love not once. Exactly on a train once. It's something amazing and sad :,) I have great memories, but I won't meet these people anymore :( Well, maybe.

    Sorry for mistakes

  • I just discovered both movies and I immediately fell in love with them. It reminded me of how rare we experience a true connection in our lives and how valuable that is.

  • i like the the bit where he goes 'say hello to my wittle friend'

  • If only we could meet on a train.

  • After years of this movie ... some day love will find you too...

  • "hi dude! what's up?" - it really killed me :D

  • Pure romance. That's what is all about.

  • this and Jou D'Enfants are the best romantic movies I have ever seen....

  • and Julie Delpy was extremely beautiful back in 95. and still is today.

  • There's some movies that can raised ur eyebrows, some movies that thrills your very senses.. but only few movies that really touched and raised your heart. Before Sunrise and Before Sunset did it all for me... Magical.

  • LMFAO "he kind of kisses like an adolescent it's so cute"

    "WHAT!"

    that killed me XD

  • So Iittle time, So much love, What a wonderful story.

  • I am waiting for the day of the descendance of my botticelli angel.

  • So cute film !!! Thanks a lot !!

  • The only person I am gonna hurt is myself.........that is true....cute girl.......

  • I just read all the comments. No attitude or aggression, no stupid internet disagreements turning into name calling. Proves that people who love this movie are my kind of people: romantics, observers of details, collectors of expressions and gestures. Human beauty is what we appreciate the most. I love you guys. Thank you for existing.

  • @notevenhere that's too much of a compliment. I know I'm a romantic I can relate to pretty much anything Romanticism has to describe.

  • @notevenhere Pretentious prick.

  • I wish I could live in the 90's. People were more real, now everything is about technology, there's no more intimate connections like this.

  • @xbRaNdLx agree with youuu. i hate myself too because i spend my whole time sitting in front of my laptop. but that's what ppl do nowadays. so sad

  • @mspenelusuk even with the laptop you could still experience the same kind of love, maybe not just as 'physical', but it can be lovely.

  • I agree totally taurusfroggy! It happened to me about 10 yrs ago. Then it fell apart through fate. I went into basketcase mode because I was too young and thought it would never happen again, I mean I saw the film when it came out and I thought damn that was my chance and it's over. But now as I type it's happening again! Please all those out there feeling lonely and down it does happen man and you don't have to be an alpha male to be loved by a beautiful girl. Richard Linklater is King!

  • Awhh, Ethan Hawke is such a sweetheart in this.

  • "You know me I'm the most harmless person... The only person I could really hurt is myself."

Man o man how could you not devote yourself to such a giving, egoless soul. I'd be supple goo in her hands after that line. For an old fashioned guy like me there are few greater callings in life than to lend strength to the truly deserving and kind.

  • yes is the best part definately-

  • the dialogs in this and the other one are SUPREME SPECIAL BEAUTIFUL AND SO REAL.........not kind other fantasy movies. I ADORE A LOT THIS MOVIE, perfect

  • i just love it. so sweet!

  • ist DAS süß sorry - aber es gibt kein anderes wort....

  • just watched this a few hours ago, great film. tho I couldn't recall if ive already seen it back when i was still a kid. excellent chemistry between Hawke and Julie Delpy and wonderful screenwriting particularly for this scene. dialogue around 0:26 when Celine starts speaking in french, oh man that was soo sexy multilingual women turn me on ;)

  • Ethan is so Hot in this..and Julie is pretty :)

  • Ethan Hawke is the man of my dreams.

... And Julie Delpy is the woman

    ;)

  • I'm not sure about that...I've experienced a sort of 'Before Sunrise' moment recently and now I've lost contact with the guy - now I'm so frustrated that I wouldn't mind blowing something up! (Jokes).

  • Before Sunset - The Best Part of two Accept the things to which fate binds you, and love The One with whom fate brings together, Never Ends...

  • The forces of energy. Beautiful.

  • In the entire movie while you are watching it.. you have this big continuous smile on your face almost like expieriencing it. After watching this movie i just sat wondering on my bed.. wow

  • In the hands of anyone else, this would be beyond pretentious and juvenile. But Linklater, Delpy, and Hawke, it's somehow charming, sweet, and...real.

  • Hmmm... I love this scene, but it's not the "best" in the movie. They're all the best... from start to finish. . . . "I like to feel his eyes on me when I look away" = amazing. ;-)

  • Probaly the best scene in movie history. So well acted and creative !

  • I stayed up one random night and was flipping through all the cinemax channels and found this. Decided to watch it, despite it being a romance movie, and I actually liked it.

Good movie, if you haven't seen it, rent it.

  • i never heard of that movie! xD

  • My all time favorite movie this Before Sunrise and Before Sunset ... LOVEEEE THIS MOVIE...

    100 OF 10 FOR MY SIDE ;)

  • This scene with the ending of Before sunset are the best romantic scenes I´ve ever seen

  • very great movie

  • My ALL TIME favourite movie.

    Greetz from the Netherlands.

  • Skeet Skeet!!

  • great movie! yes, a third sequel would be nice but challenging!

  • this movie owns.. first romantic movie to get tears in my eyes ....

  • This scenario appears SO real that i feel bit awkward to witness this. Like im in table beside them and feel like some eavesdropping.

    Magical movie.

  • I knoooooooww!!!

  • these are the bestttt conversations to have. i live for these moments.

  • Brilliant scene

  • i will love to have that lovely and goofy conversation with someone ......

  • i agree with all of you, just a couple of movies to adore, and please bring on the third one!!

  • @aquiles775

if there were to be a third one. what would u think would be in the script? or what would you like to be in the script?

  • you know, i have no idea!!, i just think they are both such great characters, the mix of romanticism, idealism, and at the same time they make it real, it's just such an inspiration. What i'd like is to watch them talk like this 'till they(or i) die. Perhaps to know what happened after the end of ''b. sunset'', did he stay with her?, and if so, would they still have this attraction for each other ''for ever'' or would they succumb to the day to day tedium?how would their relationship evolve?

  • Maybe we have to wait another 9 years :).

  • @ch1a2y3 i actually hope they don't make another one. it ended perfectly. my glass is half full :P

  • @tvducky They made another one, but don't watch it. it's a big big big dissapointment.

  • @InsertSexyFakeName you're talking about Before Sunset? i really like that one too. i like how they kind of did it in real time. nine years between movies and nine years the characters have been apart. adds to the realism. i'm sorry it disappointed you. i got my happy ending from "you're gonna be late for your flight." "i know." :P

  • @InsertSexyFakeName crud...sorry my first comment was referring to two movies :P my bad haha *poof*

  • @tvducky Well, it was a happy ending, and of course i wanted them to be together, but I didn't like the movie, the things they talked about didn't move me as much as the first, it really fell flat for me and i felt nothing at all for the characters anymore. The spark was sort of gone, except for the very last sene.

  • "He kind of kisses like an adolescent."

    "What!?"

    "Yeah, we kissed."

    Brilliant writing right there.

  • im deeply in love with this movie(s) and with julie!! she is the coolest and greatest actress iv ever seen before.. hope they make a third movie soon.. can't wait to see it..

  • Love Love Love this movie. Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke were perfectly cast for these roles. And then the sequel was just a perfect finish to the story. "You're gonna miss that plane." Wish they'd make another one 9 years later again.

  • @hoyageorge, Before the Sunrise was 1995, Before Sunset was 2004, so the sequel will be 2013 if it came again, nine years later. So they still can. Hope they do.

  • @hoyageorge Yes, they should make another one. But how could you do it justice? It's the fact that they cannot be together in the end that makes us want more. We would only be disappointed by a happy ending I think. Both films, however, capture the romance we all desire in our lives. After Before Sunrise, Julie Delpy or should i say her character Celine is the woman of my dreams. Its everything about her, the way she says d'ring d'ring. Man I love the French.

  • @hoyageorge I agree....although 9 yrs later is quite long...and i am very excited for another triquel..

  • @hoyageorge That'd be kind of interesting, but what would the idea be? Like "Before Sunrise" "Before Sunset" "Before ?" Would they be married and fighting? The love panned out and they had to work on their relationship? Would they be in couples therapy?

  • @cabronaymamow

Using hoyageorge's and your ideas, it's 9 years later - they arrive in the morning in Vienna and we find out they are married, forgotten their love for each other and have returned to the city where they first found it to see if it is still there. I would call it, "After Sunrise".

  • @hoyageorge Not 100% but i see an interview with Ethan and he said that it may happen. That aint a defo but who knows hey. I watched this when i was 14 in the cinema on my own and it changed my life. Made me a total romantic. Again i watched Before Sunset as a tribute really in my own strange way haha. I love these movies with my soul and being. This is what a real film is. Non of this Hollywood faff. I love it i love i love i love.

  • @hoyageorge Another movie in 9 years. That would just take piss out of it !!!

  • Reminds me of when I met my husband.

A very memorable time. Love this scene.

    Joan W.

  • I love this movie, is one of my favorites.

  • i agree too!!

  • great movie!

  • Yes, I agree that's the best scene.

And, to my point of view, the second best is "Come Here @ Record Store". Anyone agree?

  • This is so funny and really sweet! Julie Delpy is so great! ^_^

  • what a cute scene right there!

  • loved this moment the most!

  • I also think that is the best scene in the movie.

    Thank you!

  • love Him

  • I love her!

  • Good flick, both them... i can watch them over and over, and they never get old.

  • I love this movie... The scene, Ethan and Julie, the story... wow... the 90's... It's overwhelming really. If I die, I'll just think of the 90's... my friends... this movie.... Yeah, and I fantasized on Julie.. all the time back then.

  • sorry... for being so honest. lol

  • Hermosa pelicula, hermosa escena...

    without words...

  • 1:52 gets me every time. Every freaking time.

  • a WOW moment!

  • I know this is crazy, but I actually think that if everyone experienced a "Before Sunrise" kind of love at least once, there would be a lot less terror in the world.

  • You aren't crazy.

  • @taurusfroggy I had my "before sunrise"...but never i saw you again.

  • @falconseries saw her* (my fucking english is not good)

  • @falconseries ohh, HER! I misunderstood what you said, never mind.

  • @taurusfroggy hahahaha well, it seems once again we had our own "before sunrise". That's ok.

  • @falconseries umm, do I know you?

  • Just have some sort of the Before Sunrise kind of love last week! So I watch this movie again....and love love it.....

  • i love it when she tries to sound like a guy--lol

  • i love this part.

  • me too! thank you for sharing this. i just love this movie and the sequel too.

  • Whaat ? :D

  • This is pure poetry in motion...

  • I like them both

  • this screenplay is perfection

  • such a cool scene

  • i think this is the best scene in the movie too.

  • :-)

  • its beautiful.........

  • One of the best movies ever.......ever....!!

  • i watch many romantic movie.but this movie always the best...simple and beutiful....sweeett

  • What a great story this would have been if they hadn't had sex! Imagine this same story with hand-holding and a kiss. Would their hearts have been moved any less? Nope. But of course it does complete most viewer's fantasies. Sadly, writers do not give humans enough credit - we can fall in love and keep our jeans zipped! Ladies- do you want to see how sincere he is re. his affections for you?:

Keep your knees together and see if he still calls. Otherwise- a great movie! (FYI:a guy wrote this)

  • they didn't have sex....

  • yes they did, twice. They talked about it in Before Sunset.

  • yes they did.... They talk about it in the sequel

  • hermosa película...

  • "I like to feel his eyes on me, when I look away" - Sweet line!

  • this is by far one of the greatest love stories ever !! i just love this movie ...

  • "Hi dude. What's up?"

  • yes, this IS the best part in the movie

  • Each time I watch this movie, it makes want to believe in romantic love over again. Why can't the girl I'm dating be willing to stay up all night, just talking (and maybe a little kissing) until the sun rise over us?

  • im willing to do that unfortunately the boys im dating with are more willing to do other things! gee..

  • I've seen this movie today for the first time, and it took like twice the time it should've because I kept rewinding great scenes over and over again (like this one), I'm now like, in love with this movie XD

  • lol...then you must see the sequel too!

  • love it too!!!

    thanks for posting ^^

  • can anyone start an online petition for a third movie to be made? ill sign up for sure!!!!!!!

  • what for? it's perfect the way it is now!!!!

  • I think it won't. And it is better to leave things like this as it ends in SUNSET - without drawing a conclusion what is going to happen for them. If there is 3rd part that may spoil.

  • one of my favorite scene :)

  • me too, I've seen both movies twice in two days! =O

I need to find someone like him now before I go crazy! jajaja :P

    Love this movie!:)

  • ok, i´m obsessed with this movie.

  • oh god...I LOVE this movie so much

  • One of most romantic scenes ever conceived on the screen!

  • such a great fucking movie..what a great scene..so natural..julie delpy is gorgeous.

  • does anyone know if ever in real life julie and ethan had any romantic involvement???

  • The movie is so wonderful i watch it alot, both of them are soo sweet in this scence.Yeah i get a shiver and cant stop smiling the hole movie is just awesome.

  • this movie is amazing.and i specialy love this part it's very nice and the way he bites his lips when she says he has beautiful pink lips is soooooooo funny and cute i think i have a crush on him!!!

  • brilliant :x i think it's one of the best part of this movie too :x love it so much :x

  • She has a pretty nose.

  • I too had an experience with a French girl. It lasted 10 days until she had to return to France. Of course things weren't the same after, but I wouldn't trade it back for anything. It was the most open and alive I have ever felt.

I hope that you also have such an experience.

  • i`ve lived a story like that with and italian boy...just one day...amazing....and we remembered about this movie...
