I think the bands in the South are much better and stronger. Much stronger players. From what I'm hearing in all these recordings, whenever a soloist plays it shows the real weakness abound: tone quality and intonation are killing them. There are techniques that directors use to help the maturity,intonation and tone quality of the musicians in the southern bands. This performance really gave me a headache at 7:27. Sorry to burst the bubble but I thought this would be much better.

If I thought Mr Werner would return, I'd move back to Westerville so my daughter can share the same powerhouse experiennce when she reaches high school.

It is funny that you mention the 1994 band. I actually just dubbed from VHS to DVD my high schools performance at Westerville South's competition and also dubbed Westerville South's performance as well only a few hours ago. I have always remembered that program and I was only about 12 or 13 at the time, but it left an impact! As soon as I can figure out how to do it I will put it on here!

lol, i am too! im her sister. lol i remember seeing these old uniforms in an old locker. i love our abstract "w". but yes, we are coming along way and im sure we'll be back to this amazing status soon!

O wow ... this is amazing.. Im a senior this year at westerville South High school... ive been in the band for all four years and since we lost the band and then it came back a couple years before i started there i have watched it grow and seeing how amazing we once were and compared to how we are now .. we are well on our way back but nothing compared to this.
