Right after I figure out I got out of getting a shot, I have to get my finger pricked in a a couple weeks D: This is gonna sound super wimpy but I'll faint at the sight of blood. owe I'm really nervous, I don't want them squeezing my fingers to get tr blood out! DX I had to get my blood taken from my arm once, I looked at it once really quick and almost passed out, seeing all my blood in a tube did NOT make me feel good. X.X

I'm type 1 diabetic, so i prick my fingers 4-6 times a day and do 4-8 injections. And let me tell you: finger pricks at the doctor's office hurt and bleed a lot more than the ones you do at home. I've always wondered why... :)

i intensionally pricked my finger to be blood brothers with my best friend(his sister has diabetes so we just used the pricker) and i admit im a big wimp so i had numming cream on for 20 mins before i did it and it is so quick it really actually feels good afterwards

@xxmetioqurexx Sometimes it will. Most of the time it wont. I get mine pricked when I donate platelets every two weeks. Either way painful or not, 10 seconds later you forget all about it.

next time ur at ur doctors office, ask if they can take blood out of ur arm instead, it may take longer, but it doesnt even hurt at all

@blaster132 Sometimes it hurts and sometimes it doesn't I have it done every two weeks and I try to request the same person cause she does it in a way that I don't even feel it at all. Other times its a quick prick. I do it voluntarily anyways. I'm a blood donor.

Just take a dull knife and desensitize your finger right before you do it by rubbing it over and over.

If you do it wrong it will make it sore and it will hurt ALOT worse. xD

Omg i got one of those today. I hate them the shots don't bother me. The lady cleaned my finger with alcohol before and put to much before pricking my finger. So she took a tissue and was gonna wipe my finger, i thought it was the needle and jerked my hand away from the tissue lol. They didnt even give me a colorful band aid:)

i dont think either is very painful but i do think having blood drawn is worse. I suppose it depends on the nurse. I just had blood taken last week for an Army physical. Wasn't bad at all.

I'm a regular blood donor and they do an iron test before you can donate. I can say getting your finger pricked doesn't hurt at all for the first second or two and then you feel a light sting for a very short while. It's not bad at all. Not pleasent or fun but not bad either. So all you guys and girls going for your iron tests, have no fear. The worst thing you can do is tense up(it'll hurt worse).

When you donate blood for the first time, your body will have a reaction to having a foreign object pierced through the skin layer. after 2, maybe 3 donations your body adapts to it and the soreness will go away or at least be minimal. Please consider donating again, you are appreciated for your generosity. you should also consider platelet donation which takes longer but you get special treatment and its far less painful and much easier on the body.

yeah, I got a tetanus shot also (which I didn't feel).

The iron test hurts a little bit, bit that's probably because I had a new nurse. :P
