  • :OOOOOOOOOOOO they live in school

  • One thing is true:

    Standardized public exam is fair and efficient.

    The worst are screened off.

    China does not have the resource for each student to be judged locally by individual teachers in a localized setting.

    The US places weight on grade in a school, but such is hard to standardize.

  • I thought Anhui was supposed to be one of the poorer provinces, but it looks pretty nice to me!

  • Thanks for uploading these documentaries. ;)

  • them ppl can't run

  • Why are all the sports only track and field? No basketball? No tennis? No soccer, even?

  • @kayper54 b/c it's cheap, all yo need is legs and shoes, no fancy tennis court

  • @zhuyunliu Yeah, tennis (and likely golf as well) is probably a "private" sport for the wealthy elite. But it still seems odd the that the middle school wouldn't have school-sponsored basketball or soccer teams that played other schools, not just the up games the kids play in their free time. I can see the high school not having such teams; they didn't even have a sports day. But how did Yao Ming get his start? Does China have a national soccer team that competes in the World Cup?

  • At 3:36 is it degrees or Celsius

  • @kayper54  alright thanks :D

  • @CDiaz63 I would have thought 35 degrees Celsius :)

  • Talk about dedication! O.O

  • @JUSTLOOKATTHATSHIT .....I couldn't have said it better my self! America has some really nice programs offered in academics, but just like you said, we care more about the well roundedness of and individual.

  • Say what you want about them, but the Chinese's focus on education is inspirational. It is no wonder analysts predict they will be the world's most powerful economy in 10 years.

  • You wonder if they beat the kids or molest them when the cameras are not around.

  • A=average

    B=bad

    C=Crap

    D=Dead

  • You know uwonsat, many people see the hard times we not only as a nation, but possibly the entire world, face! In the real world there are few things that are more important than an introductory education. I do agree that these parents/teachers are very harsh, but as the head master says in this video, "...It's the best system we've got for now." Although what is "too tough"? Surveys say that overall happiness is about equal among rich people/countries vs. poor people/countries!

  • @DigitalShinigami "It's the best system we've got for now". Excuse me, but how uneducated or stupid do you have to be to make or agree with that comment? Let's look at a simple comparison with the United States. America's education system, which is almost the direct opposite of China's education system, is often criticized for its excess of freedom given to the students, but why then are the top colleges in the world present in America instead of in China?

  • @zzhanzzhao Do you see how the headmaster's statement is in quotes? Simply by quoting someone, DOES NOT mean you agree with THEM. When I said, "I agree that these ..." I was under the impression that the typical person watching this video would have already formed the thought that the parents and teachers in said video, are VERY EXTREME! I wish to continue this conversation, but the number of characters will not allow it. Please look in your YouTube inbox for more.

  • @zzhanzzhao

    shit actually America's top colleges are prestigious because they are often funded by upper class individual families as well as having reputation for a history of renown scholars. I wouldn't say the top students at America's best colleges is better than the top students at chinese colleges because the U.S. runs on an entire different system of education; while we focus on more well roundedness of kids, the Chinese focuses HEAVILY on education.

  • @JUSTLOOKATTHATSHIT

    well rounded of what. europe does this, russia does this, the middle east this.

    the USA breeds cheaters, how to cheat, when to cheat, its fun to cheat, lets haze those kids!

    the USA breads definitely a well rounding hater, hate-monger, and ultimately a suicdial lunatic on the verge of destructiveness! USA students are in violence training to become criminals. Parents are more worried about fucking or weed instead of worrying about their kids future and life!

  • @lmodema If you're surprised about the Chinease education system then you must watch

    their prison system just to see how china use them for the good of the country but some

    groups in America and for political reasons make it human rights issues !

  • @JUSTLOOKATTHATSHIT

    the problems with the USA and UK is that TOO MUCH freedom or liberty is given. And this is the ulitmate demise of the USA constitutional capitalism! its better to have a balance of communism, democracy, socialism, and free enterprise, but no one extreme method.

    hell, look @ detroit, new york-bronx, LA, tampa, the entire state of GEORGIA, houston and dalls texas and list goes on of breeding violence and heavy crime. the USA is bount to have another civil WAR!

  • @lmodema Woah now don't put the UK and the US to qwote you hell, look @ detroit, new york-bronx, LA, tampa, the entire state of GEORGIA, houston and dalls texas and list goes on of breeding violence and heavy crime. the USA is bount to have another civil WAR! That has nothing to do with the ukand yes we are more democratic in the uk than in china but we still have laws and right you cant just go around being an idiot ie the london rioters look at how many of those were through in jail!

  • @zzhanzzhao By 'best', i think the principal was using 'connotation' and tried to let students know it is the fairest way to select students. Otherwise, it's hard to predict what's gonna happen without Gaokao, with respect to the corruption of the officials. Without Gaokao, it'd be even harder for students from poor families to attend college or i should say prestigious colleges, coz their spots may be occupied by those whose parents have economic power and relationship w/ the government.

  • @zzhanzzhao I agree the Chinese system needs improvement. I went to college in China and graduate school in the States, both very prestige universities. Let me tell you, the engineering, economics, and business graduate schools here are filled with foreign students. U.S. students count for <1/4.

  • @zzhanzzhao Why is the top colleges in America instead of China? Marketing thats why, I know about Harvard and Princeton through the media even though I'm not American. And and because at the moment English is still the international business language not Chinese, give it a couple of years then we will see.

  • lame....man do they ever party?

  • GAO KAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
