I was at church and I saw a little girl that looked exactly like her!!!!! And I was starting to be kinda shocked/surprised/overwhelmed but once I saw her face I shed a tear. I really thought it was her but it wasn't. RIP Somer Renee Thompson. You will be missed.

I remember the day they comfired it was her. I was at work and a customer came up to me and told me that the radio had just annouced her death. I went into the backroom and cried. I never knew Somer nor did I know her family, but her death hit too close to home. I used to play on that street where she was taken. Whenever I am driving trough Orange Park and I happen to go through her neighboorhood and pass her house, I break down in tears. RIP little angel. All of OP/JAX still prays for you.
Me and my residents were very hurt by this case. I was a nurse aide at the time and my residents and I prayed that she would return home to her mom safely but then the news came and we all just cried.It hurts to this day. :(

My aunt and uncle live in Orange Park, near where Somer lived. She was a beautiful, loving and sweet girl who will live in our hearts and be in our prayers forever. I remember the day they comfired it was her. I was at work and a customer came up to me and told me that the radio had just annouced her death. I went into the backroom and cried. I never knew Somer nor did I know her family, but her death hit too close to home. I used to play on that street where she was taken. Whenever I am driving trough Orange Park and I happen to go through her neighboorhood and pass her house, I break down in tears. RIP little angel. All of OP/JAX still prays for you.

Me and my residents were very hurt by this case. I was a nurse aide at the time and my residents and I prayed that she would return home to her mom safely but then the news came and we all just cried.It hurts to this day. :(

A high percentage of the elementary to middle school students who are abducted by strangers are abducted on the way to and from school. (And to and from the store, etc.) It's like a predator's shopping mall. Think about your child's manner of transport to and from school? Is it really safe? I always drove my son myself, even though I worked full time and I was a single mom. It's just not worth the risk.

Unfortunately there are child killers out there. Each one needs to be locked up , and throw away the key. Some are found alive. Jaycee was found alive but kept prisoner in a back yard. Morgan Nick vanished and still hasnt been found. Amber Harris vanished, found remains 6 months later. Killer is sitting in death row.

This family lives right down the road and to this day they still have a purple bow on the tree out front of their home. I remember also before they found her people were at every corner passing out missing child fliers.This is horrible and still makes me cry. I couldnt imagine having to ever go through this. My prayers are still with the family of Somer.

I remember this and I was so angry.I prayed and prayed for her safe return and then the news came on and I was so hurt.I was working as a nurse aide on the night shift and me and my patients were just crying and appalled.We had all been praying for her even though we live all the way in Chicago.Her killer is going to have to answer to God when judgement day comes.He will get his.His day will come. what is really eerie to me is when Somer's mother says " she's one of the most loving little girl's...she never knew a stranger " ~ i think that's part of the problem... kids need to be taught about strangers & that they can't trust everyone & that they don't need to be loving to everyone... parents, teach your children to kick, scream, bite, punch or whatrver else they have to do for survival

My aunt and uncle live in Orange Park, near where Somer lived. She was a beautiful, loving and sweet girl who will live in our hearts and be in our prayers forever. I wish her family, especially her parents and siblings, the best and I hope they are at ease knowing that the monster who killed Somer is caught. Rest in peace Somer, sweet little gift from God. -3

@xbearcanrockx I try to think positive. but, i honestly have a constant fear of something happening to me, or someone else on the street, just walking down the road. i always have to have a friend with me, just in case. i don't know if it's just a paranoia thing going on, but i can definitely say that even walking down a street is frightening. BUT. i try to keep a strong face so, if for some reason someone was thinking of doing something, they would think twice.

@WhiteOut02 I can actually kinda understand that especially if it used to be a "safe" community. you'd think that kidnappings don't happen in your area but when it does. everyone is shocked. another reason would be that single females without a buddy system are at more risk than males. since male and females have different bodies, males are physically stronger than females and can break away easier where as females are likely to get kidnapped :\
