@firefwi yes I know; I was just saying that we have learned so much about food and diet since the 80's. If you only eat salad, you're body can go into fat storage mode. A healthy, balanced diet will exceed a light diet of salads and greens any day on so many levels. Either way, greatest show of all time.
@ Shan & Hocking,i agree.Denise's character is extremely flaky & dis-respectful.Her mother took a lot of time to prepare her favorite foods, and this is the thank's she gets?In soo many episode's she doesn't stop and think.
I'm not sure what her worst one was, but I think the one where she got married to a divorced man with a 3 year old child is it. Martin is a great, honorable, and handsome man, and Olivia is adorable, but she only told them when she hit home, like a few months later.
@Dominated1408,i completely agree with you!! Clair's control is sometimes out of control. She becomes way too annoying about his diet.I understand she want's him to eat healthy, but for god's sake, let the man eat! He work's hard, and deserves nice things.3 things you don't deprive a man of:
I remembering my father , he used to be very excited whenever I used to go to my home.. even my mom too... I love dem and miss dem.. will meet dem soon
Real talk, that was messed up for Denise to call her friends to meet her at the house and to leave with them the second she walked through the damn door. Her family were standing by the door like WTF?
"WHAAAAT!! THIS IS DENISE'S ANSWERING SERVICE OK!! I'M HER FATHER OK!! SO DON'T WAIT FOR THE BEEP NOW YOU GOT SUMTHIN' TO SAY??!! HUH? ALRIGHT! HIT IT!! OHHH STEEEVE!!!" LMAO!!!!
It really was messed up. And like the TITLE says, "Home For the Weekend" means 2-3 days. Family really should be # 1 priority, everyone else- later. And her friends REALLY had to go to her house and greet her as her family was doing so? Moment she sees her friends, she said, "Screw ya'll"
i'm glad i'm not like her friends i usually try to give my friends a week or two to spend with he family and any time spent together before that is her choice cause i dont want to take family time away from her cause family's most important when you go home
@kissame104 the apron as two cajun phonetic pronunciations of the words guarantee and chicken as pronounced/said by the late great famous cajun chef Justin Wilson.
man i wish i had parents like cliff n claire growing up. i never went to college but had horrible parents. my grandparents (who because of them im not a wreck) i think would have done all that 4 me if i was in college and i would have so gone home and spent time w them!
god you guys are horrible. sure, family normally trumps friends. BUT she hasnt seen her friends in a while. None of you have ever come from somewhere or been in the situation where going out with friends and or agemates seemed more appealing than being with family? Especially when you were young. geez...so Hypocritical!
@AquarianNigerian I have to say you have a point. There were a few in my family that was like that too when they were in college. Just like Denise, they didn't do it intentionally either. In high school, its obvious that Denise was quite popular, and all her friends missed her. ALOT lol. But in the beginning, her friends were a little rude. Give someone two days to get themselves together and be on family time, then make the other time to hang with them.
@ChicagoTyme- Denise could have said no, but yeah that would have been hard. As for her friends, much as that was rude, she did tell those 3 to meet her at her house. But the real rude part was when Clair explains to them that THE FAMILY was going to have dinner when Denise got home, and the Asian gal says "Oh don't worry about us, we've already eaten". And family time does not mean staying home but inviting your friends over either.
@AquarianNigerian- people do that, yes, but since you asked all around, I don't. Family always first. If I don't see my friends while I'm home for a couple days? No biggie.
@AquarianNigerian- People do that, yes. My brother does things like that, but since you're asking all around, I don't. If I came home from college for a couple days and not see my friends? Oh well. Family first.
PSH forget the hanging out with friends -_- i mean my favorite food, family, relaxing, now THOSE are things worth coming home to @_@ not hanging out with friends, i mean isnt that what u do in college wen ur not studying anyway? -_- yes.

I was so close to doing what Cliff did on the phone one time. My sister kept getting calls from her friends and I started getting tired of it.
around the 5th or 6th call I shouted, "What?!" at the phone. Then I looked at the caller ID and saw it was my grandparents....
